Chapter 2: The Beginning
Weird... That's the only thing that I can think of while walking my way home.
sfx: cling!!
That's the second time that I've heard it while on my way. It's like the weird sound that I always hear every night.
I halted and looked around, only to find out that I am the only person in the vicinity. This place is supposed to be crowded! What in the world is happening?!
" Oh...? I never knew that you're this perceptive." Out of nowhere, Selene showed up.
She is standing on the other side of the road wearing her most eerie grin that will surely hunt me for eternity.
I was about to step back when I felt another presence behind me. Should I look back? Gaaaaaahhh!!! What am I supposed to do?!!
" Rule number one..." I was taken aback when Selene is standing right next to me." Never space out while being hunted." Out of blue, her nails began to elongate.
It gives me creeps that without any thought I ran away from the place. I never looked back and just ran when I saw a masculine figure on the way.
It was standing between the road as if waiting for the prey to fall in his trap. I stopped running, almost making my feet as my brakes.
" W-who are you?!" I tried to make my best not to stutter but my own voice broke.
He stepped forward and I was quickly petrified to where I am standing. My knees trembled in fear and soon, I fell to the ground.
Tears started to slip away in my eyes as the masculine guy tried to approach me. I was about to scream on the top of my lungs when a miraculous thing happened.
The unknown guy fastly plunges towards the masculine one and without any warnings, he jumped and used both his knees to knock out the enemy.
" Hurry and go! I'll catch up later." I stood up hurriedly and took my chance to run away.
I was cowering in fear when I closed the door of my apartment. My hands are trembling and my heart won't stop pounding hardly.
" What took you so long?!" I was surprised when I saw Amos inside as well as Nellie who is standing beside the guy.
I opened my mouth but no words came out. What in the hell was that?! What in the world is going on?!!
I stepped aside when I felt the door opening. It was the guy who saved me back then. He is a very petite looking guy with a fair skin and dead glittery eyes. His height is not really mentionable but it makes him look like a cinnamon roll in one of the manhwa's that I red before.
" What are you---" Amos eyes widened while pointing to the guy next to me.
" What do you think are the both of you doing?" He said with a poker face and ice cold voice." Your king is about to get hunted but you're only slacking off inside his abode? I think you know clearly what your job is. Specially you, Mr. Amos Felad." His dead eyes locked with Amos's penetrating gaze.
" You don't have the rights to criticize us Yohan! Your filthy words are befitting you." His voice is full of rage but the latter didn't budge nor blinked.
" I'll get going." The Yohan guy just nodded to me and left the room. I was dumbfounded by the sudden scenario but I don't have the strength to ask any questions.
I left both Nellie and Amos in the living room and decided to take a bath. Things are getting messier.

" So, what the hell are you doing here?" I asked with my brow raised a bit.
Amos just snicker and faced sideways while muttering ' what is he doing here?'
" We were thinking of instructing you quite a little about the situation but we never knew that they will attack this early." Nellie said with an apologetic look.
" I can't believe, this is actually happening!" I shook my head with disbelief and messed my hair.
" Say..." Amos looked at me with his serious gaze." Did he tell you why in the earth he's in here?"
" Uhm.... Why are you so fixated about him?" I can't help but to get curious about Amos's behavior. Though I don't really know what kind of person he is =_=
He cleared his throat and gave me a piercing look. The hell's with this guy?!
I ended up telling them what happened just about an hour ago. It still creeps the hell out of me that it gives me goosebumps.
I literally grow up hating jump scares and now-- here I am, being hunted by some pretentious freaky bitch.
" We apologize for our miscalculations Natsusa." Nellie said with an apologetic look on her face while the bastard Amos is feasting my mixed nuts snack.
" Now that you've experienced the terror of being a clueless king, you need to listen to our instructions." Amos gave me a bitch look but I just ignored him.
This bastard is really a thick face =_=
In the end, we decided to leave the topic for now and have a decent dinner because it's already 8:45 in the evening.
We ended up eating a fast ordered pizza from a very known pizza house. The thick faced Amos ate one whole box just for his while me and Nellie shared.
Seriously? Am I the king or him?
" So...." Nellie looked at me as if saying ' let's start the discussion.'
I can't help but to sigh and attentively listen to what in the world is going on.
" First off, let's talk about your Mask." Nellie looked at Amos and it seems the latter understand what it means.
" Like Nellie said back in school, the mask is special as it gives the wearer a unique ability specified to each persona. Meaning, even if you inherited the mask, you wont get the same ability as the previous owner." I can't help but wonder...what ability did it gave me?
" Also, the mask will change its appearance once you wear it so I hope it's a good one!" Nellie added.
Now that caught my interest!
What kind of mask will it be? I hope it's something goo-- No, no! Don't get to worked up!
" Now then, you told us that you suddenly noticed the surrounding to be ghosted. That's the upside down. In other words, our second world and also called as Colosseum." Colosseum? Like the battle arena for gladiators?
" Yes, like the battle arena." Wait! Did she just---
" It's in your face dumbass!" Amos once again is bitching out with his tongue click shit.
" Amos were supposed to help and assist Natsusa not bitching him out." Nellie gave Amos a glare but the latter didn't concede.
" Aside from the mask and colosseum, you shall remember this in your mind." That serious tone of Nellie makes me gulp and swallow my own saliva.
" You have two enemies in both world. First, is the organization called Palmarium. They have unknown backgrounds but one thing for sure is that they capture humans and recreate it into something else." Seems like a creepy occult to me.
" Next ones are the other Kings as well as their subordinates." All I can do is to nod and listen to what they are blabbering but one thing only came out of my mind. DANGER.
