Chapter 16: Chapter 16 : Train Towards Tokyo

An Excited Nanako, that's what we've been accompanying this whole time. It's her first time out of Inaba, and from her perspective it's like going to another world, so of course the girl is excited.
We spend our leisure time idling about and telling Nanako about things to expect in Tokyo, attractions, and whatnot. She's really excited to go to disneyland with everyone.
Not being the one to be a bearer of bad news but if i remember correctly tonight is going to be the start of everyone's headache.
"*Yawn*"
A cute yawn escapes Nanako's mouth.
"Ok Nanako, It's time for you to sleep. Tomorrow's a big day and you'll need all those energy to have fun!"
"Ok papa!"
What a cute girl.
"I'll also retire to bed Uncle"
"Goodnight Yu."
It's 12.00 PM.
It's just me and Uncle Ryo in the study, he's still making his report using his laptop. As I am working on my novel. I finally finished 2 chapters. I have a feeling my book will need at least 6 chapters in it.
Suddenly my phone and Uncle Ryo's phone ring at the same time. The caller's name? [Uncle Kaz]. well shit. Standing up, Uncle Ryo signals me to follow him to the other car.
Arriving in the other car, I immediately answer the phone.
-Akira, you there?-
=Yeah, what's up Uncle Kaz?=
-Have you seen the news?-
Tilting my head, I walked towards the second compartment's living area and saw Uncle Ryo pointing towards the small tv screen. The national news channel is on. It's reporting on a bombing attack happening at the millennium tower.
=Just saw it, you alright uncle Kaz?=
-Don't worry about me. I'm calling you because you need to know, tomorrow is most probably a trap set by someone from the omi-alliance. I've heard someone's gonna start a coup on Tojo Clan's ground.-
=Well that's a ballsy move.=

So the plot is starting already huh. Now what should i do? Should i just bail and let it play out or should I intervene again.

Me and the rest of the officers sweat dropped with their interaction. As I was thinking about quietly escaping, Uncle Ryo threw something at me, I captured it with both my hands.
"Be sure to wear that tomorrow under your shirt. I don't have anything less thick, do you need one Nami?"
Kevlar huh. It's not gonna help much but i'll take it.
"I think I'll be Ok, with Akira around me, I feel safe."
"Good. then, get a good night's rest. Tomorrow's gonna be hell one way or another"

As we retire to our own car, I can feel fatigue wash over me. Today's not the problem, tomorrow is.

I realize that if I didn't communicate with Romulus, She wouldn't be able to read my mind unless I'm actively sharing my thoughts. Clairvoyance like the name indicates is an ability to foretell the future. Even gods don't have that power, which is why Izanami is so interested in me in the first place. Well that's a lie. I know this as my previous life memories overlapped with this one. And I clearly remember playing through those scenarios. But telling that to Izanami is bad. So i just leave it to her imagination but lo and behold, she came up with the theory herself. I technically didn't lie, I just didn't correct her.
{Tell me, what are you worrying about?}
She seems genuinely worried, am i being an asshole here and keep shoving her away? Or am I just overly cautious? Maybe just this time I'll tell her a little.
{The Peace talk tomorrow. It will end in a coup, set by the young families in the Omi Alliance. Having a republic-like system is bad for a Clan, as there's many conflicting interests. These conflicts are usually stemming from the young generation vs old generations.}
{So, A coup? That's what you're afraid of? You who have held his own against a goddess are afraid of a Coup led by young mortals? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA}

Suddenly her hand held mine.
{If you're worried for your family, then don't be, For I'm here.}
Hey hey you just sounded like a certain superman with bunny ear-like-hair.

Family huh. There's still mom, and Daigo-nii, uncle Kaz, little Haruka, and now, Yu, Nanako, and Uncle Ryo. Protect them all huh. Easier said than done. But with this powers. I'm pretty sure I can do it somehow.

As I had enough of the inner monologue I pulled Izanami into a hug. Thanks, the smell of shampoo on her hair calms me down.
"Thanks Izanami"
"Umu."
Feeling the warmth of her body, I put my hands on her cheeks brushing it ever gently. Even if she's a flaming decaying corpse, she's still a wonderful woman. Her hand reaches towards my cheek, as she pulls it hard!
"I shall let you know, as long as I have this contract, we shall share our life-force. Meaning, that Now we're connected, I'm basically Flesh and Blood."
That's good to hear, no more nightmare fuel true forms. Suddenly she pinch even harder wanting to tear my cheeks apart.
Having enough of my cheeks getting pinched, I held her chin with my hand and angled it upwards toward me, from this angle I can see her face in all of her glory, beautiful face, ruby red eyes, silver hair tied up into a ponytail. An easy 10/10 for me. As I held my breath I approached her pink lips with mine, instead of a soft feeling I felt something else on my lips, her finger. Closing my mouth as if asking me to stop and shut up.
Confused, I wanted to ask what's wrong. But my answer soon comes to me in the form of a sound.
"Mother, mother, don't go"
It's nanako's voice, she's having a nightmare huh.
I can hear Nanako sleep talking.
"Mother, please stay, I'll be a good girl, please don't leave me."
Izanami suddenly gives me a motherly look and proceeds to walk towards Nanako's capsule bed. It's too big for Nanako alone as the bed was designed for a grown man to sleep in. without hesitation, Izanami slowly approached Nanako's bed and placed her hand on her head while whispering towards her.
"Mama is here, there's nothing to worry about, Nanako is a good girl. The best little girl mama ever had."
While slowly caressing her head. She simply waves at me signaling me to go away, as she herself snuggled into Nanako's blanket. While repeatedly stroking her head with her hand, on her face she had the most motherly smile I've ever seen.

I said as I closed the capsule's curtain, and climbed to my own capsule. As I lay my head on my pillow, sleep overtakes me.
