Chapter 2: [2] New Life and Test
After what I later found out was fifty years I was sent away from Death's domain, now I was sitting in a car that was just outside the sign of Forks, I was only miles away from it. Before moving a flood of information went off into my head, I was born not to far just in Seattle but my parents moved us out here last week, they were nice enough to let me stay in Seattle for one more week.
Other than knowing what was to come my life was pretty normal from memories, I was raised by loving parents who were just trying to get out of the big city they both worked from home. Even when I wasn't in the body my memories were so my body practiced all the new powers I had while growing up, I was also a best known world selling author.
Though I ignored media and anyone who wanted an interview but that just made more people curious about me, I was a millionaire close to a hundred million but just under. Like I wanted there were no movies made of my books, because it was always my belief that people who bought the rights to do it always messed them up in some way or left big things out.
Even if it made it where I had less money I was still happy because the books weren't being ruined, though there was a big convention for people who cosplayed the characters I made. Smiling I started the Bugatti Chiron that I was currently driving, it was maroon red with a two black stripes going down the middle of it.
This was the only car that I owned and treated better than anything else in the world, my parents didn't say anything about it since I bought it with my own money, even if they could afford it. Driving into Forks it was like a sixth sense went off inside of me I could feel where the Cullen's were, I knew it was them because it was the aura of Death that I was feeling.
Frowning I realized that this was the one thing that my body didn't master, it didn't know how to turn it off which made me sigh now I would need to figure out a way to do it. When I made it into town people looked over at my car since they weren't use to seeing something so flashy in a small town, I actually ordered a new car since I didn't want this to happen.
Tomorrow my Camaro 69' Z28 would be here right in time for me to start school, it was something I thought of at the last moment so no one would question about my family. Luckily the windows to this car were tinted and no one could see me inside unless they followed me then they wouldn't know.
After a quick drive around I headed to my new home, I still needed to go and unpack the little things that weren't set up since I only had time this weekend to actually come down here. The house was just a modern two story but it was refitted since my mom thought that the weather affected it making it moldy, she was picky like that.
Going inside my parents were up in their study working on whatever work they had to get done, as for me I went to my room and got everything put away before they noticed my arrival. "Thank god you are finally here, can you make dinner tonight?" My mom asked with a hopeful tone from the doorway.
Apparently my body took it upon itself to reveal how good of a cook I was so it set me up by cooking dinner for my parents over the years who got addicted to my cooking. "Yeah, I am going to make a lasagna since it is something I am craving at the moment." I told her while setting the last of my clothes into the closet.
"Perfect, see you at dinner sweetie." she bounced off like a teenage girl going to tell my father, I could only shake my head at this.
Since it was midday I went downstairs to get everything ready, going into the kitchen I cracked my neck before getting ready to get down to business, after washing my hands I was ready. Going to the fridge I took out the three boneless A5 Wagyu beef steaks, this was already six hundred dollars worth of food I was using if I was cooking then I was using the best.
After taking that out I put it through our meat grinder and took out fresh tomatoes along with a can of tomato paste, then I just got all of the seasonings ready. The process was longer this way but I was not missing a detail, after seasoning the meat I put it on and started to make the sauce for the finished product.
After four hours which should have been way sooner depending on who you asked I had one Wagyu Beef Lasagna with sprinkled Applewood bacon bits on top. Most likely smelling the food my parents rushed down they didn't even wait for me to serve the salad before digging in.
Sighing to myself I let them be, we had a peaceful dinner that night with laughing and love.
The Next Day...
I was outside sighing papers for my Camaro that was being set down from the truck, after squaring everything away I went ahead and drove the car into the drive way. After parking I froze for a moment there was someone watching me, I didn't know who it was but they were at the tree line not to far away, after the pause I went inside.
Not knowing who was looking was messing with me but since I didn't want anyone to know about me at the moment then I held back, since school for me didn't start for another day I relaxed. After answering emails for awhile I locked the door to my room and decided to test my powers, I went ahead and brought some things to test it on too.
First was the fire because if I was honest I was a little bit of a pyromaniac I mean who doesn't like fire, anyway looking at the steel and iron in front of me I put fire on each. Not even a second passed before the metal evaporated and there was nothing but the flickering of a black flame sitting on the sheets of my bed, it didn't effect the bed cause it wasn't my intent.
Knowing that it by my command I was much more relaxed, this time I used it on the worm that was in front of me but this time I was only trying to burn the soul. They have them who knew? Anyway it worked and all that was left was a lifeless worm that didn't try to move anymore other than that it had no physical change.
Satisfied I moved on to DFM which was weird, the moment I tried to control it the room was cold like it was below freezing, the windows frosted up more than they were. Though I was controlling it I could tell that there was a sense of hopelessness in the air, to be honest it was some scary stuff that had me shivering a little.
Using it on the plant in front of me the thing withered faster than one second, my mind blanked before I shook my head, to others it was dead but to me it still moved. The flower bloomed and it looked liked it gained a second life but without knowing the elements in it then you would never want to touch it, it went from being a normal white lily to solid black.
In the middle was a pool of black goo that I knew was just straight poison this thing was another Death plant, if a normal person even touched the stuff they would start to rot. Gulping I was scared but impressed luckily it couldn't do anything to me so I was safe from it, though to make sure my parents wouldn't be harmed I destroyed it with my fire.
Looking at the black elements that represented DFM I put it away for the moment that was not something I was going to mess with unless necessary or it was a big enemy. On to the last the Death Inducement, this one I took out a beetle and another worm since it wasn't as simple as just thinking it and the person would die.
This power had limitations and one major was that the subject had to be seen in order for me to use it on them, the next thing is that another being had to be sacrificed to be used on it. When it came to killing the Volturi later this would be helpful, looking at the Beetle I wished death upon it and when I felt the need to use another life to help take it the worm started to shrivel up.
It wasn't that I couldn't use my own but it would make me weak, although I was immortal it was still taxing to do so I would only use it when it was time to face them. I also knew that it would kill me in the process but live a save point I would just go to the Realm of Death before being sent back later, honestly it was a fair trade in my eyes.
