Chapter 6: Magnum! It's Here!

I was the happiest person. Lying on the table with all its glory was my weapon. Adonis turned to face me. "You should name this weapon." He suggested. I had not prepared to name it yet. So I just closed my eyes. The surroundings became totally dark but in the middle of my mind, was my weapon. It seemed to be in fire, blazing anyone who came close it.

I smiled and opened my eyes. "This battle-axe now has a name. I have got it. It will be called…. Magnum!" I exclaimed and picked up the weapon. Picking up Magnum was like having a strong current flow through you. I could feel the blaze of passion flowing through me. Then I realized that the weapon was very heavy. I could barely pick it up. It took me both my hands to grab it in place.

Adonis smiled. He looked at my battle-axe and said, "Your weapon has a lot of potential. You just need to harness its true strength. You should know how to wield it." I understood.

I greeted Adonis goodbye and left off for my home. I took my bag and tried to stuff Magnum in it. Unfortunately, it was bigger than my bag. I had to carry it with both my hands till home. While I was going, the people on the road were impressed by my weapon. Their expression told me that they were thinking; the weapon is good but the owner is an idiot. Who could blame them? I really did look like an idiot, grabbing Magnum with both my hands.

I finally reached home to find my father's astonished face. He looked at Magnum and seemed very impressed. "You made this, son?" He had a tone of disbelief in his voice. "Mr. Adonis helped in most of the activities. But yes, I love to take credit!" I replied. My father didn't laugh. He took the weapon from me and examined it from top to bottom. He would have been admiring my crafting skills, I thought.

The day went away quickly. The next day, my father got a call from Adonis. He had a conversation and then kept the phone. He came directly to me. Once again I saw the mischievous smile on his face and I gulped. He looked at me proudly. "Son, today is the day when you will test your weapon. Adonis has called us for some training near the river bank." My father said.

When it comes to fighting, I am the worst person to talk to. And still, here I was with my weapon, going to train with Adonis. I just nodded. "I will come with you. We will go at 11:00 am." My father announced.

Whenever we want time to go slow, it just flies off. I didn't understand how it had become 11 am so quickly. However, I had to go. My father and I walked together to the river bank near our house. When we reached there, we found the eagerly waiting Adonis standing there.

He gave my father a warm hearted smile then looked at me. "Are you ready to train?" He asked. I wanted to say no and run away. But I knew I couldn't do that. So, I nodded. Adonis had gotten a large tree trunk with him. He placed it on the ground. "Now you need to hit it with Magnum and tear it into two pieces." Adonis ordered.

Here I was, barely lifting my battle-axe, and he wanted me to cut the log into two! But orders are orders. With all my strength I hit my axe on the log. Not even a dent could be seen. Adonis smiled. "You need to awaken your spirit. So I grant you the opportunity of fighting skilled warriors. Let's get you into a battle against three warriors at once!"
