Chapter 7: Got A Weapon? Let's Kill You Now!
I have to say, Adonis was testing my patience. I had just started to learn to fight and then all of a sudden, three people emerge out of nowhere with sharp swords and fight me. Looking at them, I knew they had crossed their teens. They looked sternly at me. Looking at the swords, I had a bad feeling I was going to die in a few moments. (Sorry, I forgot that I will get resurrected.)
Even my father agreed to this unjust battle. Nevertheless, I grabbed Magnum with both hands and got ready. From a distance, Adonis yelled, "Begin!" All three of them rushed towards me. I lifted Magnum and tried to strike once. But the moment I lifted it up, the heavy weight pulled it down. (Stupid gravity! Yes it exists in Darknor.) I managed to dodge all the three attacks somehow.
I was having a tough time striking my opponents. On the other hand, they had got enough hits on me to knock me to the ground.
The next shot was surely my end. I looked at Adonis and my father who had no sign of compassion. The three warriors lifted their swords and slashed. I closed my eyes. Who wants to see their own death? But just then something happened.
I could feel my hands lifting automatically. I heard a lot of clashing. Slowly opening my eyes, I saw my weapon lifted up proudly. The others' weapons were down on the ground. I didn't understand what had happened. I looked at Adonis who was smiling. "Kid, your weapon saved you! Its spirit is awake. Don't you think you should respond to it and awaken your fighting spirit as well?" Adonis said.
There were many sayings which stated that weapons had spirits. But I just could not believe that I saw it in front of me, proven. Magnum didn't want me to die. It wanted to fight till the very end like a hero. The only thing backing it up from its goal was me. If it wants me to fight till the end, I will fight!
I kept Magnum down and closed my eyes. In the utter darkness of my mind, I could hear a voice. It was coming from deep within me. "Blaze…" It said. It was surely a male. It had a manly voice. "I am Magnum, your weapon." It said. Magnum was a male? I never thought about it. "I trust you, Blaze. You also need to trust me. Believe in me and we can win any battle on Darknor!" Magnum declared.
I was just silently hearing his voice. He wanted me to be as strong as him. I smiled and opened my eyes. I grabbed my battle-axe from the ground which was now glowing. Golden light surrounded him. I myself was glowing. Red light was radiating through me. Magnum didn't feel heavy anymore. I faced the three warriors who were now all set to fight me again.
I screamed and rushed towards my opponent. I believe in you, Magnum! I thought. Each strike of my axe left a dent on their swords. I released all my strength and broke the swords in half. The warriors tried to defend themselves but I was too fast. I slashed Magnum on them. Their battle scars were visible. My leg too, was hurt. And with one last strike, all the three warriors died.
