Chapter 50: Impressing BAMF Moody

Moody had asked the question so casually, that one would think, he is asking if my tea is hot.

I looked at him, and said evenly. "It's not all I am trained with." Saying that, I made a wandless gesture and made a blob of light float before him, condensed it into a beam, and split the table into two.

He looked without even blinking an eye. "How long are you able to hold that construct?"

I saw him unphased at my ability, and became sure, that at least some wizards knew who or where such abilities and skills were common.

That means, the known giants in Harry Potter world, are my ticket to the hidden world, where there are bound to be powerhouses of dangerous levels of magical capabilities.

That means impressing these giants. The few names, that I am aware of, are Dumbledore and his mentors Nicholas and Perenelle Flamel, Newt Scamander, Gregorowich (if he is alive) and now Moody as well. So I need to showboat and showoff to impress them with what I am capable of. Because these giants would allow me to see the world not shown in cannon, where there are powerhouses who are hidden, not because they are weak, but because of the strength and power they represent. As it happens, this list also includes my parents and grandparents, who are my sponsors and stakeholders. And I would need to keep improving, if someone like Moody wasn't even surprised.

So, I didn't answer him, and made a giant disco ball of light, and made the lights dance, as various magical creatures danced in the room.

I made another construct which blasted all good songs from this era, and lighted up the atmosphere.

I then made the light dance and brightened the entire hall with it.

I saw Moody look at me and ask, while his eyebrows were curved slightly. "How old are you boy?"

"Nine, coming on Ten."

He nodded. "Impressive for your age. And effortless too. Do you practise spells with wand?"

I snorted. "Why would I need that? I can do everything a wand can, but without needing a handicap."

He nodded, and sat beside me.

"What else can you do?"

I smirked, and called for Fawkes, who flamed him and me to the Lake.

I saw him look around, and then at me. I smiled and flew wandlessly in the air, and flew around him with a whoosh. Then I turned into a dragon and roared in the air.

I took to the air, with my wings flapping, and breathed fire in the air, as the heat comforted my skin.

I jumped in the air, and changed into a Thunderbird, and trilled in the sky, as the sky above me thundered, as clouds gathered to block the stars.

I felt the lightning in the air, and the Phoenix who wanted to fly in the open air, we danced around each other, playfully flying so close, that our feathers ruffled against each other.

I then dived straight towards him, changed into a Basilisk and slithered towards the Lake, and changed into the Kraken, as I dived above the surface and landed before him in my momentum, and landed gracefully turning to a human.

I grinned at him. "What do you think?"

He said, "Did you realise we are past six languages now, and you have been replying fluently in all of them?"

I looked at him blankly, as he didn't answer my question and instead asked one to me. "Of course I did. What do you take me for, an idiot? I thought Professor Flitwick, McGonagall or Headmaster Dumbledore told you about it."

He shrugged. "They didn't. They were right. Someone seeing a young boy gifted magically would cause quite a lot of trouble for your parents, even if they are old bloods."

I shrugged. "I trust you. A paranoid man like you cannot have many friends. So who are you going to tattle on me to? And now that the Dark Families were purged like that, I don't think someone would rear their head like that, so soon. And by the time someone gathers enough courage to do that, I would be capable to take care of myself."

I said with a grin.

He chuckled lightly. "What makes you think I don't have any friends?"

"Well do you? And Order members, don't count. You are not the type of person to sit in a bar and enjoy your drinks."

He laughed at that. "Quite a smart one, aren't you? Are you hoping for Ravenclaw boy?"

I shrugged. "House doesn't matter. I am brave and courageous, cunning and ambitious, intelligent and wise, and hardworking and loyal. So houses don't matter. I am here to learn, not to be stuck with useless labels. Probably Ilvermony's Houses are the best. I would have been a Thunderbird there."

He smiles, which looks creepy on his disfigured face. "Aye, you would have been."
