Chapter 3: Chapter three

After a few hours, I found myself standing in front of alters along with many couples who wanted to get married. Some ladies had fallen in love while others had agreed due to excessive greed. But here I was, still fidgeting my fingers as I nervously took a glance at Aiden beside me and shifted my gaze back to the ground.

I really didn't want to marry this guy! But could I really get away from him? When I looked at his sturdy arms and tall frame, I shook my head. I won't stand a chance. Maybe I should just resign with my fate and get married. It shouldn't be like this guy would end up killing his own wife, should it?

My mind was going crazy. And even if I wanted to get away from this guy out of fear, I didn't think he would do anything to me after seeing his gentlemanly behavior he showed me a few hours ago. But I couldn't just brush off the rumors I had heard about him right? Ugh, I don't know what to do anymore!

'Bell?' A sudden voice nearly my ears woke me up from the daze and I suddenly flinched back. Then I turned my face toward Aiden, who was lowering his head and gazing at me with a hint of amusement in his eyes. Heartbeat sped up, and I instantly flinched away from him.

'Wh-What?'

'What're you thinking? You doze off in the middle of the ritual.'

'I did?' I scratched my head as I looked around me only to see them busy staring at us. I flushed even more. 'Wh-why are they looking at us?' I didn't even hear anything. Did I really doze off while in the middle.of the ritual?! It was so embarrassing!

'It's because it's our turn to attend to the ritual.'

'Oh.' I lowered my head. Why couldn't these people just look away at a time like this? I even sweated profusely because of multiple eyes boring on my back.

Just then, Aiden lowered his head and said in his normal husky voice, 'Don't be afraid, I'm here.'

'I'll be more frightened if you come near me!' I screamed in my mind, but didn't say anything to him at all. Taking a deep breath, I walked upstairs as Aiden followed behind me.

The ritual was boring. Every couple had to spend ten minutes on the stage as the pastor would utter a few words in an ancient language. All this time, me and Aiden just stood next to each other awkwardly. After that, the pastor asked us to tie a thread on each other's ring finger. Then he said, 'Take these threads off during your wedding night.'

Wedding night?!

I didn't want to think about this. This Alpha Aiden was a stranger to me. How could I think of our wedding night all of a sudden?! I still wasn't over the fact I had to marry such a cruel guy!

But I couldn't say anything. I basically didn't have the right! It wasn't like I didn't want to refuse this marriage proposal, but I didn't want to create a scene. My confidence at handling such a situation was already negative. How could I get the confidence to refuse someone as famous and crazy as Aiden?

After ten minutes, we stepped down together after getting a word that both of us had gotten married. I still couldn't believe what had happened to me. I needed some time alone to digest the fact that I had just ended up marrying a guy rumored to be the cruellest of all!

What's wrong with me?! How could I just agree? But when I thought of Aiden's tall demeanor, those rumors that had gone online, and how he had killed his mother years ago, my legs went soft. I didn't have the ability to say anything at this time anyway. What if I reject him and this guy ended up killing me instead? I would instead live and try to please this guy to keep my little life! That's right! I will be obedient to Aiden so that he wouldn't even think of going crazy and killing me!

The more I thought about it, the more I thought my plan was good.

'We're going to Endoro Pack soon.' Aiden decided to open his mouth after a long silence. 'It's going to be a four hours journey. If you want to freshen up, go ahead.'

Four hours?! I pursed my lips. It took me six hours by bus to get to this mating camp from town. If I had to take another four hours, I would perhaps die of curbing my urge to pee. Perhaps Aiden was right. I nodded and headed straight for the female bathroom.

After ten minutes, I washed my hands and had just headed out when I bumped into someone. Seriously! What was it with me and bumping into people all the time when I would just step out of the bathroom?! I stumbled back and rubbed my nose, bowing to the unknown guy. 'I'm sorry!' I didn't even dare to lift my head to see this face, but his smell was strange. Being a werewolf, my sense of smell has always been stronger. So I could tell this guy wasn't Aiden.

But who would have thought that the person before me wouldn't let me off so easily?

'Watch where you're going bitch!' The man said rudely.

I kept my head lower and pursed my lips. 'I'm sorry. I didn't know you were coming!'

'Are you blind? I was just leaning on the wall to make a call. And you just hit me. Do you want to die?!'

His loud scolding made me flinch. 'I-I really didn't see you!'

The man scoffed. 'You blind bitch. You did this on purpose, didn't you? I have to teach you a lesson.'

I saw his feet coming closer as my eyes widened. What was this guy going to do?! First, I bumped into Aiden who ended up choosing me as his mate. And now, I bumped into someone who thought I had done this on purpose to make him angry! Why did my day seem to keep getting worse and worse?

Just as I felt the person would raise his hand, someone came and grabbed his arms from behind and forcefully pulled the man back, literally throwing the man toward the opposite side. The man screamed and his back collided with the wall as he fell on the floor. He held his trembling arm that seemed to be broken with another hand. His face darkened as he glared at the person who had saved me. It was Aiden.

'Alpha Sebastian, I think you have a death wish.' Aiden said in a cold voice that sent a chill down my spine. But he didn't stop to listen to that man as he dragged me outside.

I was still in a daze. That man was Alpha Sebastian? The guy who was famous for looks among virgin werewolf ladies?! I couldn't believe such a famous guy could be so black hearted. When I compared the behavior of Aiden with this guy, I couldn't help but purse my lips. The difference between them was just too great!

After four hours, I found myself standing before a gold colored gate decorated with many pink and red flowers. I was stunned seeing that. Someone opened the gate and yelled, 'Alpha is here!'

Everyone heard several gasps and poked their heads out to see. I lowered my head. I didn't think these people would decorate the place so meticulously. There was a road that led inside and a red carpet was spread over it. Above the red carpet, a bunch of flower petals spread across the floor all the way toward a two storey house in the back. To my right, a sparkling fountain was there, and benchest surrounded it. A few elderly people were still sitting over it, but their gazes were stuck over Aiden. Everyone, even including children and elderly were dressed cleanly. Left side had rows of houses. Aiden guided the way and we reached the first house among the buildings on the left.

'That building,' Aiden pointed at the two storey building far away. 'It's the meeting place of our pack, and this,' he pointed toward the first house. 'Is my home.'

I entered the place after Aiden only to find it extremely weird. It was far from normal. Wherever I swept my gaze, all I could see sparkling objects either hanging on the wall or placed on the table for decoration. The couches were so clean that I felt as if no one had ever sat there ever since he bought them. The walls were filled with beautiful abstract images red in color. There was also a giant TV in the living room.

After watching his house, all I could think of was 'How lavish! Yet he doesn't seem to have a single thing that wasn't just a decoration.'
