Chapter 3: First impressions
After talking for a while, Chris somehow managed to convince Maitreya to join the band and their girls for their camp. Of course it didn't take much convincing, she was already a fan and she would have killed to spend time with Chris. After all he was her favourite member.
"Ocean blue eyes, dark brown hair. Oh I could just melt right now" - Maitreya said as she looked in the mirror imagining Chris to be in front of her.
" Hmm he smell's so good, how do I contain myself around him? How will I contain my urge to just jump on top of him " - she playfully whined and continued to pack her things for the camp.
The guys are already buzzing with excitement. They had already packed their cars and most of them were headed to pick up their girlfriends. Miguel and Elsie were together for a year and a half, they had met at college when Miguel " accidentally " tripped her while walking pass. Elijah brought the girl he met at the cinema Laura. Michael has an obsession with tea and found someone who felt the same way when they met at cafe. They hung out every morning and drank a cup of tea together without even exchanging phone numbers until one day, he was late and with disappointment Kristy was about to leave. Then he showed up with a bunch of roses and finally built up the courage to ask her to be his girlfriend. Just as Michael felt about tea, Jeremy felt that way about coffee,he invited a fan that met at the grocery store in the coffee aisle. Owen had his Pringles to keep him company and as we know Chris had invited the girl he just met today.
Everyone was arriving at the camp site,one Couple at a time. Owen and Chris were the first ones there trying to set up their tents. Elsie was pretty comfortable with the guys since she's been around the longest and felt that she had to make the other girls feel just the same. Laura was pretty nervous although she had met the gang before but it was because Elijah was going to announce to everyone that they are officially boyfriend and girlfriend.
Michael was bringing Kirsty over after finally asking her out , she was beyond excited , she got hair hair done and brought enough snacks even for Owen. Katy was excited to spend time with Jeremy again but was quite nervous because the last time they hung out, Jeremy kissed her after the concert and she wasn't sure if that clarified their relationship status. Maitreya had just met Chris early that morning, it was all still fresh and she hadn't stopped blushing since she saw him. She had so many bags that she accidentally carried those with all her food, sanitary bags, underwear, socks, jackets but dropped her main bag of clothing as she took them to the car. She didn't realise that she was missing anything and drove off in excitement.
Chris still hasn't told anyone about his dream and how it crazily became a reality. Well he spoke about Maitreya
and how they met but wasn't sure if anyone would believe him so he kept it to himself. Deep in thought Owen snapped him out of it
" Chris, Someone's arriving , who might it be ? " - Owen playfully sang and pointed to a random car approaching
Chris excitedly walked closer to see who it was. Miguel and Elsie jumped out the car and waved.
" hey guys " - they both say
They all hugged and greeted one another before pulling out their tents from the trunk. Soon Elijah arrived after fetching Laura , Jeremy brought Katy and Chris' phone began to ring and he walked away from the rest of them
" hello" - Chris said with a sudden smile
" hey, its Maitreya , I think I'm lost " she sounded confused
Chris giggled and tried to help her find the camp site
While Chris was on the phone, Michael arrived with Kirsty
" hii" - she said shyly
" yeah. The newly couple has arrived " - Owen screamed
" uhh excuse me , so are we " - Jeremy playfully blurts out
Katy turns to Jeremy blushing insanely
" oh oh I'm sorry! "- Owen laughs
The boys bickered a little about this while Elijah just looks over to laura and winks " we'll have our moment later"
Chris runs in the opposite direction in a hurry
" where you off to mate" - Miguel asked
" be right back , gotta find Maitreya, she's somewhere around here !" With that he leaves to find her
" who's Maitreya ? " - Michael asks confused
" that's Chris' girl , I think , something like that. I don't know"- Owen says with a silly face
All the boys are laughing and joking around about something when Chris approaches them with Maitreya
besides him. They were both blushing out of control and giggling about something. Chris had both her bags on either side if his shoulders and she carried a packet full of marshmallows. Whoever this girl was, Chris looked happy, unlike when his with Sarah. Oh, she's going to flip when she finds out we all hung out without her, even worse when she finds out that Chris brought someone else. Although Chris had blatantly told her on multiple occasions that he didn't like her. He was always very kind and tried not to hurt her feelings but she was madly in love with Chris since high school. They have been friends for as long as they can remember because their parents were close friends. Even when someone else had asked her to prom, she asked Chris to take her and of course he did.
" hi there " she accidentally said too loud in a high pitched fangirl scream.
She immediately regretted it. Although practising a thousand times to the mirror how she would introduce herself, she had to be embarrassing. All that practice was certainly not enough. Why would she assume that her inner fangirl won't take over her mind and say something stupid and embarrassing.
Her loud scream interrupted everyone , they looked up to the south African girl and smiled. Elsie was the first one to get up and grab her in for a hug. Finally she felt a little at ease.
