Chapter 34: Yoruba demon

Abby was surprised by his statement and didn't bother to reply to him since she already made up her mind not to talk to him for the rest of the drive.

'Yoruba demons!' she exclaimed to herself. 'How did I end up with a man that is their president... How did I end up being one of their victims?' She wondered to herself sadly.

They soon arrived at the gate of the Lekki garden estate where her parents and brother stayed. She got down from his car without even spearing him a glance and moved towards the place her brother's car was parked.

Josh saw Abby came down from an unknown car and wondered who it was that came to drop her off. When she was nearer to him, he saw her face was all puffed up from crying.

"Hey sweet! What happened to you!? Have you been crying!? Are you okay!?" He asked rapidly, a deep frown of concern etched into his handsome face.

"Who the hell is that... Did he hurt you?" He continually asked Abby but his eyes were on the cold face of the handsome man who just dropped his sister, and who was also staring daggers at him with his eyes that were filled with hatred.

'What's his problem? I don't even know you so why glare at me like that?' Josh thought, feeling a shiver run down his spine.

Abby who was beginning to feel overwhelmed by her emotions again immediately went into her brother's arms and hugged him tightly as her tears came pouring down her face.

"Sweet, talk to me... Did he hurt you?" He asked her again. His eyes drifted towards where the man was parked but the place was now empty, his car had already driven off.

"I messed up! I messed up big time Josh!" she cried while hugging her brother tightly.

"It's okay... We can't talk like this. Come inside the car, let's talk." He opened the car for her to sit inside.

"First and foremost, calm down and clean your tears..." He said, handing her a handkerchief.

"Who was the guy who dropped you off?" He asked after seeing she had completely calmed down.

"His name is Tunde, I told you all about him before... The guy I met six weeks ago, remember?"

"Yeah, but I thought you said his name was Paul?

"Yes!... Paul was his second name. His first name is Olatunde, Tunde for short"

"Okay, So what happened? Why where are you crying? I thought you liked him... Did he hurt you? He didn't take advantage of you or did he?" Josh's eyes had gone hard while asking these questions.

"No he didn't take advantage of me," Abby replied. Her voice had gone low out of embarrassment.  "...just that...oh god!" She couldn't continue but bowed her head in shame instead.

Josh parted her back and made a soothing sound. "Common, it couldn't have been that bad?"

"It is bad! I...i...gave myself to him," she said timidly, head still bowed because she was too ashamed to look her brother in the face.

"Gave yourself to him?... You mean you slept with him?" he asked softly with a hint of surprise in his voice.

Abby couldn't reply, she just nodded her head instead.

"And you didn't have any bad reactions to his touch?"

"Surprisingly, no!"

Josh's face broke into a smile. "Shouldn't you be happy then? Don't be a prude Abby, com'on!... Is that why you're beating yourself up?" He asked with astonishment.

"I'm not being a prude... You don't understand..."

"Is he that bad in bed then?" He joked with an exaggerated frown on his face.

"Oh no, he's not..." Abby was quick to deny that statement because she could remember clearly the intensity of the pleasure she felt when she was in his arms.

"Stop teasing please..." She smiled a little with embarrassment at her admission when she realized he was only joking with her. Abby was surprised at her brother's reaction to what she told him. Even though they were close to each other, she still wasn't expecting this kind of reaction from him.

"Good cos I would have been disappointed if he was, with his kind of good look and all" Josh said trying to make her feel much better and at ease with herself.

"So if you don't have any negative reactions to his touch and he was good in bed, why the tears then?" He asked her gently.

"I never intend to sleep with him... It just sort of happened you see... This was not how I intend my first time to be like... To sleep with a guy who I hardly know!

I was attracted to him... So I thought,  let me hang with him, get to know him, and see where it leads... The attraction was strong you see...a-and I thought I could resist him... One thing leads to another... And I stopped thinking... So we did it.

I was scared. I was angry with myself... Angry with him somehow... Cos the way he talks... What comes out of his mouth... His I-don't-care-attitude... Nothing was loving about him! Why does it have to be him!?... Why do I have to be attracted to a guy who doesn't like me... Who never even gives a damn about me Josh!?

Josh was angry... Angry with the bastard who hurt his sister but he kept his emotions in check. She deserves to be happy after all that she's been through. And after all the treatments and therapies she's been through, she doesn't deserve an asshole in her life.

"You know what's gonna happen?... Today is your birthday and I promised you fun so we are going out right now to have fun. Cheer up and do away with the long face already. We'll talk better when we get home tonight, okay?"

"Okay!" She finally said, her spirit lifted a little. The thought of having fun was even better, it would take her mind off him for now.

They made a quick stop at a beauty parlor along the road to have her make-up professionally done, since she didn't fancy makeup, she requested nude make-up...and the result was both versatile and stunning at the same time.

Soon they arrived at the Golden Gate Hotel in Lekki. After parking the car, they walked towards the side of the hotel where another smaller building was located.

"I have a table reserved for us, you just go ahead and give any waiter or waitress you see your name, they will lead you to our table, I need to quickly make a call," Josh said, bringing out his phone.

"Okay, no problem," she replied with a smile, walking towards the building.
