Chapter 511: Chapter 511 - Helicopter (Part Two)

At this moment, he had his back against the helicopter's fuselage, and at his feet lay the unfortunate guy he had directly knocked out with a kick. There was one person left standing across from him, holding a gun. After all, he was just an actor; the gun could fire, but his accuracy was not that great, certainly not on par with a professional.

The guy on the ground was someone he had successfully taken down through surprise. Now, the person standing across from him was not going to underestimate him because of his previous actions. He couldn't just rely on tricks to control the situation.

Surprisingly, Roy's heart rate slowed down remarkably. It no longer pounded like a drum as it did a moment ago. He slowed his breathing and carefully pulled the guy on the ground toward him...

However, he was unaware of the professional standing across from him, and what that professional was thinking. He had advised notifying their boss first when they discovered someone. But his partner had insisted on bringing the two bodies back. This would please the boss and earn them more commission.

Originally, when he saw the "man" running towards them, he thought of shooting him directly to eliminate potential threats. However, his dim-witted partner argued that they hadn't found the "woman" yet and they should capture the "man" first to extract information from him.

Now, in hindsight, it was clear that their mission would not yield any useful information. They couldn't even understand English! And that's not all; as soon as they arrived, they were taken down by a pretty boy with slender arms and legs. Now, he's the only one left. If he can't eliminate the other party, he probably won't earn the boss's favor, even after losing a partner.

"Although we have no enmity, for the sake of my money, you better die early!" He muttered to himself and immediately rolled away from under the helicopter, opening fire on the "man."

Blood splattered!

The person who was shot immediately fell. Truly a professional, even in haste, they could ensure that every shot hit vital areas. After a few shots, a living person would turn into a corpse.

Just when he went to check it out, he suddenly discovered something was wrong, that is, there were two people in the place just now, including the target person and his partner. But now there is only one person!

In a hurry, he went to check the person lying on the ground, and, unsurprisingly, it was his unfortunate partner.

"Bastard!" he couldn't help but curse because, at that moment, he felt the icy muzzle of a gun pressed against the back of his head.

It was obvious who was holding the gun.

Could such a thing be done by a Hollywood actor? Perhaps, he was an undercover secret agent like James Bond? Roy had no idea what the man was saying, but he could imagine it was probably begging or threatening words. Would he spare him? What would happen if Roy fell into his hands? Would the man spare him because of his surrender and begging?

What he found unbearable was the thought that after he was killed, regardless of whether they had found Laila hidden in the rocky forest or not, her current health condition might not allow her to survive until rescue arrived. He didn't care about his own life, but he couldn't tolerate any threat to her.

"For our survival, sorry, you should just go ahead and die." Roy coldly pulled the trigger, and the recoil made his arm jerk backward. He closed his eyes as the splattered blood covered his face and body.

After the initial shock of feeling the warm blood on his face, he slowly opened his eyes. He gazed at the person lying on the ground and then nudged him with his foot to place him next to the one he had taken down earlier.

With bloodstains still on his face, Roy eagerly searched the helicopter for anything useful. He was elated to discover two bottles of mineral water and a compressed biscuit that had been discarded in the corner.

However, he didn't know how to fly the helicopter; otherwise, he could have flown Laila back directly. Looking at the helicopter, he resolved to get a driver's license when he returned to the United States!

He took the water and compressed biscuit back to Laila in the rocky forest. Carefully, he lifted her body and gently gave her some water. He soaked the biscuit in water and helped her drink it.

Laila was in relatively good condition now, and the fever had improved. Whether it was the effect of the water or some divine intervention, her complexion was much better than before, no longer as red as a steaming pot.

As time passed, under Roy's relentless efforts, Laila's temperature seemed to be brought under control.

At this point, Roy took a sip of water, although he didn't have much time to waste. He used a piece of clean cloth torn from the dead man's clothes to wet it with water from the bottle and carefully wiped her body. Her fever was intense, and allowing it to continue might cause irreparable damage to her health. After ensuring her initial hydration, he used the remaining precious water to help her cool down.

As time went by, he took another sip of water, one small mouthful at a time, to rehydrate himself. The sun was sinking again, and five small dots appeared on the horizon, gradually approaching, accompanied by a tense sound.

Roy tensed up, not knowing whether the people arriving were the associates of the two men or the actual rescue team. If the rescuers were here, that would be great. But if these were the associates... he couldn't be sure how long he could hold out with a gun in his hand.

However, he quickly relaxed as he saw two familiar figures among the people landing near the rocky forest. It was Mr. Oswald and his son-in-law, Quentin.

"Roy!" Quentin was the first to spot Roy as he ran toward them.

Seeing the bloodstains on him, Oswald and Quentin both felt their hearts skip a beat.

"Where's Laila? Is she okay?" Roy led them to the rocky forest, responding, "She had a fever earlier, but she's doing much better now."

Laila had indeed improved, and it was unclear whether it was the water or some divine intervention, but her complexion was much better than before, no longer as red as a steamer.

Seeing Laila who was well taken care of, and Roy covered in bloodstains and lips cracking from dehydration, Oswald sighed with understanding and patted Roy's shoulder appreciatively. "Thank you, you've taken great care of her."

"You don't have to thank me, she means everything to me." Roy followed the rescue team and watched them carry Laila onto the helicopter. They had prepared medical equipment onboard, which would help with the diagnosis and treatment.

Quentin's attention, however, turned to the abandoned helicopter nearby. He had noticed the two men lying on the ground.
