Chapter 7: Second Day

It's the second day, one day away from when the war is going to start.

The Divine Saber Sect was one of the many sects that were going to participate in the war, the disciples that were brought along came because of the trial where the Divine Enlightenment Pagoda was in restricted cultivators above the Nascent Soul realm.

So most of the cultivators that came to obtain the pagoda were mostly at the Core Formation realm with a few elders that came to protect them along the way until they were in the trial.

A Martial Ancestor powerhouse left it after he ascended to the Middle Heavens, a higher plane. He wanted the younger generation to have a chance at it. Rumors say that he wanted the person who got it to be enlightened on their Dao and also ascend and become his disciple.

That's why only Core Formation realm cultivators and below could participate in the trial.

Of course, Ling Tian didn't need or want it.

As Ling Tian was flying through the sky on his sword, he encountered a young man at the half-stage of Core Formation with a bow fighting against a demonic beast that was at the Core Formation 1st stage, a Silver Horned Bear.

The young man had simple yet graceful movements with perfect accuracy, hitting the bear's eyes and weak points.

However, since the Silver Horned Bear had a higher cultivation level and is innately more powerful as a demonic beast and as a bear, it did more damage to the young man than itself with its thick hide and fur.

Its sharp, large claws and massive muscles did large damage and you can see ravines of cuts in the young man, he seemed to be on the losing side even after shooting its eyes.

The bear could still see as it was very strong, albeit a bit blurry. The arrows were clearly not strong enough.

Ling Tian was still in the sky and the young man did not notice him because of the intense fight.

Ling Tian did not interfere as that would be ruining the possible fortune of being through a life and death situation. And if the young man died, that meant he wasn't fated to be the future disciple he was considering of.

The young man had resolute eyes, determination, and unfaltering will.

"I have to use my trump card!" The young man pulled out his trump card which was an arrow that had runes that were condensed formations into one symbol, and gathered all the rest of his remaining spiritual qi, drew back the bow, and fired.

The bear was charging at him, creating more momentum for the arrow to do damage.

The arrow hit directly between its eyes, piercing straight through its cranium and out the back, killing the Silver Horned Bear.

The young man had trouble standing up but didn't forget to look around for any orioles that were hiding around. (Context: "The mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind").

He looked up and saw Ling Tian and was instantly vigilant, although he didn't have any spiritual qi left and was riddled in wounds. He lost large amounts of blood and it was surprising he was still standing.

"Wh-who are you!" The young man asked warily.

"Don't worry, I mean you no harm, I'm just a passerby that happened to notice your fight with the demonic beast." Ling Tian smiled.

"Then go!"

"Brat, would you like to be my disciple?"

"Disciple?! You're just a young man at the Foundation Establishment 8th stage, what makes you think you can take me in as your disciple?"

Ling Tian returned to his old disguise as Elder Qi and released his Peak Martial Emperor cultivation level.

"I was just in disguise!" Ling Tian smirked.

"Are you an expert of the Bow Dao?" The young man asked with expectations.

"I'm an expert in many Dao, and Bow Dao is one of many I can teach you."

"Are you apart of any organization?" The young man was still wary.

"Yes, I'm an elder of the Azure Dragon Sect. Take this pill before you lose any more blood and die." Ling Tian tossed a grade 9 healing pill to the young man.

The young man looked at and could feel the massive amounts of healing spirit qi leaking.

"How do I know this is not a poisonous pill?" The young man was still wary, he was a natural hunter but was randomly attacked by the Silver Horned Bear.

"I'm a Martial Emperor, why would I need to kill you will a pill?"

'He's right..." the young man thought and gulped the pill.

Instantly, the wounds that he endured healed fast enough to where the naked eye could see. Although he was still pale, the blood was getting pumped faster than normal.

'He shall be my fourth disciple, and he will not be the last.' Ling Tian thought with a grin while waiting for the young man to finish cultivating and heal his injuries.

After 10 minutes, the young man was fully healed with the help of the pill.

Ling Tian cleaned him up with a wave of his hand and you could see the appearance of the young man. He had an above-average appearance that was dashing, his aura had a sharp feel to it, as if he was always ready to strike you down with an arrow.

"Disciple Gong Shen greets Master!" The young man kowtowed respectfully, his eyes had a tinge of reverence on it.

"Gong Shen huh, so that's your name... Good!" Ling Tian forgot to ask for his name.

I will start teaching you the Bow Dao, every Dao is not exactly equal, but you can change that by going to the limit and peak of the Dao.

The Bow Dao is one of the stronger Dao with its difficulty in mastering it. At the peak, you can shoot the stars, pierce through space, and hit galaxies, you can wipe out enemies in the blink of an eye from far away.
