Chapter 5: Book One: Earth Ch.5
*EXPLOSION*
Several flying rocks flew towards Xiao Feng but he completely smashed them.
Without difficulty, he stomped on the ground and a very large piece of rock came out of it. With a kick, he sent him flying towards Toph.
She just stomped her foot and raised her hands like he was covering herself. Out of nowhere, a rock wall came out of the ground completely covering Toph.
Thanks to this, Toph came out of the flying rock unscathed. But the rock left a large crater in its wall. That means it was not strong enough.
"Toph, stop." Xiao Feng said with authority.
"Yes, Master," Toph said in a respectful tone and bowing.
'What would the Beifong family think if they saw their daughter, bowing to someone with such a poor appearance as mine ...' was Xiao's thought. "We are done with practice, there is no need to call me Master." Xiao Feng said and Toph just nodded.
"And how is your seismic vision going?" Xiao Feng asked excitedly.
"Pretty good, probably better than yours, I can already see several more kilometers than you," Toph said arrogantly.
"Well, at least I'm not blind." He said to mock Toph but she did not succumb to the insults and games.
Xiao Feng sighed as he lost his only trump card.
It had been several months since he started teaching Toph earthbending. She and he had different styles because Xiao Feng told her that the fighting style suited her better: praying mantis.
By showing the style, she agreed to use it, for her it was much better and would give her more advantages thanks to the seismic vision.
Since Xiao Feng showed her the way, he seems to have given this one a special appreciation.
It should also be said that she has not told Xiao Feng her last name, which makes her feel much more at ease.
- Flashback -
"You have good qualities there ... What is your name?" Xiao Feng asked.
Of course, he couldn't say that he already knew her name. Mainly because Toph was not a "public" figure so it would be impossible to know what her name was.
"My name is Toph ... Toph Be-" she hesitated for a few seconds, but before she finished saying her last name, Xiao stopped her.
"I don't care about last names. My name is Feng." Xiao Feng said joyfully. She was also glad about this. If they didn't know her last name, she could be free and wouldn't have to act like a high-society lady.
She smiled and just said, "Thank you!"

"You can go home now." Xiao Feng said waiting for Toph to leave.
She shook her head. "I don't want to leave yet," Toph said with a bit of annoyance.
She didn't want to be at his house for long. So he always made up the excuse that he was going to practice with a teacher who would teach him earthbending.
Fortunately, the Beifong family did not know any teachers at the time, so they had no objection to letting Toph go to practice earthbending. Sure they insisted on meeting them but how on earth was Toph going to introduce them to an eight-year-old as their teacher? So Toph created many excuses to avoid her parent's meeting with Xiao Feng.
So she can arrive as late as she wants, well, relatively.
Of course, Xiao Feng knew that she didn't want to go home. But that didn't want Toph to stay long, or her parents really insisted on meeting Xiao Feng. And it probably wouldn't be good for him if they knew an 8-year-old, self-proclaimed earthbender.
"Well, whatever. You can stay a little longer, but then you have to get out." Xiao Feng said in a tired tone.
She bowed respectfully, uttering a small "thank you" to her teacher's kindness.
The two of them went to Xiao Feng's house and sat at the table.
"Feng, you never told me how you got here and how you learned everything you know," Toph said waiting for an answer or a story from Feng.
Feng laughed like Iroh does and was tempted to speak and tell his story in proverbs but thought Toph wouldn't understand anything.
"Well, just like you, I fell into this tunnel in a rockfall. I spent a few days in total darkness until I found the mole badgers, from that moment I felt my affinity with the earth and observing the lifestyle. Of the mole badgers, I managed to use earthbending. Then I resumed my journey until I found the exit, but it was all very dark and there were too many forks in this tunnel, so in a desperate attempt to survive, I invented seismic vision. " Of course he left out some details like the bandits and the system. He didn't know who the heck was the previous owner of the body before Xiao Feng took over, so it's better to leave out a few things.
Toph could only be surprised by the abilities of her mentor, who in an attempt to survive created different abilities.
After much chatting, Toph finally went home and this allowed Xiao Feng to relax and learn a few more things about the system.

Toph returned home but hadn't noticed the time. And it was really late for a little girl to be alone on the streets.
"Toph! Where the heck was you !?" Asked a severely concerned parent.
Her mother also asked the same thing.
"I was training ..." Without saying much, Toph wanted to get rid of this. But a few simple words from her father made her flinch.
"ENOUGH! I want to meet that professor of yours! Toph, this time I don't want any excuses, if you don't bring him home tomorrow, then you can say goodbye to your precious earthbending and your freedom!" Toph's father exclaimed, Toph's mother nodded furiously at her husband's words.
"..." Toph just couldn't say a single word.
