Chapter 3: Awakening
Walking into his class he was greeted with the scene of the typical middle school class except some who had blue hair or had tattoos of beasts . There was even a boy who had snake like eyes and some who had scales on their skin of various colors and some looked the same as ordinary humans.
Only now did it really sink into Roan that he was in a different world with supernatural powers. There were already those who awakened their soul entities. Although everyone just awakened White grade Soul entities and only one girl awakened an ice attribute cat beast soul entity which was Bronze grade. Just as he sat on his seat the head teacher of his class came in
"Everyone please quiet down"
After everyone settled down the teacher went on to say
"Today we will have two of our students undergo the awakening process so we will be gathering at the school auditorium to see the awakening process of them and a few other students from different classes. If there are no questions we will be leaving now."
The head teacher was tall man with glasses and a book shaped tattoo on the back of his hand. It was said that his soul entity was a book which helps him in gaining knowledge. The head teacher cultivation is said to have reached the Soul Adept realm.
The soul entity you awaken is highly related to the form which you are subconsciously inclined to. Growing up, if your favorite animal is a tiger you would most likely awaken a Tiger beast soul entity. Although this has not been proved and the matters of the soul have always been elusive there are many cases of this being true.
As the head teacher walked out the class we followed him to the auditorium where everyone was gathered. This has been happening once every end of the month for those who had their birthdays that month. The awakening can be postponed and will not affect the results. Those who do not want to wait can get it done at the Federation branch in the town for a high price. But the price is so high that it was almost impossible even for the Gungnir family let alone ordinary families.
He was really lucky to have his awakening on the day school conducts it.
"Alright kids take your seats, Roan Gungnir and Alan Strongarm please come with me."
We both followed behind the teacher reached the place where there were a few others who also had their Awakening today.
"Alright you two its almost for certain that you both will awaken bronze soul entities so do not have to worry much."
"Yes teacher"
The head teacher nodded his head and walked away.
Alan had an excited look on his face and was looking around and checking each of the students out.
As Alan was about to open his mouth he quickly closed his mouth and looked towards the entrance.
Curious, Roan looked towards the entrance and saw a tall old man with a straight back, white hair and imposing physique walking with steady steps.
Even though he looked old he did not have any wrinkles and had tanned skin.
As he was staring at him the old man suddenly turned around and looked towards him and flashed a smile and then continued to the stage.
Roan was bewildered and did not know why he got a smile from the old man,
"Did he realize that I cleansed my soul 4 times?.."
Shaking his head he focused on the awakening.
"He is the Dean of our school and a Soul Warrior on the same level as the Federation branch head"
Hearing Alans whisper he could not help but be shocked, so this the Dean. It is said that his soul entity is a golden eagle and he is able to take flight which most are only able to at the soul master realm.
Looking at his eagle like golden eyes he could not help but think his eyes were special.
"Hello everyone today is the day for awakening of another batch of children I look forward to it as you are all the future of humanity. After the appearance of spatial cracks we humans are constantly fighting the Apocalypse beasts and recently there have been more and more spatial cracks happening in the outskirts of the Federation. As future combatants of the federation you must strive for greatness...."
After that he went on to say how the awakening was major turning point of out lives and how it was also not the end of the world as it is also possible to upgrade the grade to special means and hardwork.
Then he went on to call names out of the student who were supposed to awaken.
First was a average looking guy who wore a nervous expression, it seems he only just reached peak of soul tempering and would most likely awaken a weak White grade soul entity. Just as he touched the awakening crystal there was faint white light which encompassed him and went into his forehead after which a crack sound was heard and then a tattoo of a sword formed on his right hand. After looking at the tattoo he could not help but have a happy expression as weapon type soul entities were pretty rare and the sword was a popular choice of weapon. You could say that his luck was pretty good.
After him there were many others woke were able to awaken their soul entities some awoke Beast type soul entities as they were the most common and some awoke weapon type and some awoke almost useless soul entities like a twig and one girl even awoke the extremely rare Bronze grade wind element though it was only as strong as a breeze now but it could bring about a storm when it reached its full potential.
"Alan"
Next it was Alans turn
As Alan touched the crystal there was blinding bronze light and a Boulder shaped tattoo appeared on the back of his neck looking closely you can even see rock fragments all over his body forming an armor and looking like a Rock Giant. Even the dean had a smile on his face as he saw this which meant that he awakened a very useful entity.
