Chapter 32: 32. Tag along.
"They mentioned you owed money?" I ask making sure the trio was looted off all the goods and putting them on Boko in his pouch.
"My family sold me to pay for their debts, I have to earn 1 million valis to earn my freedom. I can't even have my status updated until I pay the debt." the girl says blabbering away rapidly still in a panic.
"I see so you also belong to the Soma familia?" I question.
"Yes."
Nodding my head I raise my hand towards the trio of looted bodies.
"Fira!"
A sweltering hot wave of heat rolls over the bodies turning them into nothing but ash in the wind.
"Well I guess my dungeon adventure for today has been cut short. So what's your name?" I ask the little girl.
"Liliruca."
"And how old are you?" I question seeing a large bag filled with items I pick up and sling over my back.
"14, that's my bag." She says noting the bag.
"Well I promise I won't steal anything from you." I tell her with a chuckle.
"I believe you." She says quickly.
I just smile.
"My name is Ryan Grim, captain of the Hel familia." I introduce myself.
She just nods slightly into my shoulder.
"So how much have you saved up for your freedom?" I ask the girl.
"Nothing, they took my valis." She says sadly.
And i had just robbed them. "How much did you have?"
"13,730 valis." she says quietly. "I've been working hard as a supporter, but they said it was taxes for being late on my payment." she said sobbing suddenly.
"Don't worry I'll give you back your money." I tell her.
"Really?"
"Yeah, I haven't fallen low enough to steal from children." I say with a frown.
"I'm not a child!" she says quickly puffing her cheeks up in anger.
"Alright, alright." I say passively. "Do you want to ride on Boko now?"
"No!" Her grip tightens.
"Okay, relax I'm not going anywhere." I tell her.
She suddenly frowns. "I can't go back!" She says quickly. "That was the captain of the Soma family and they know i left with them! They'll kill me!" She says working herself into an even bigger panic.
"Man that familia is even more scum than i remember." I sigh out. "Relax, I wont make you go back there. I can't have something like that on my conscious."
Sending a child back to a bunch of addicted rapists? Hell no.
"What will I do? Where will i go?" She starts panicking even more.
I think for a moment and sigh. "I'll handle it just relax. Trust me okay?" I pat her back slightly and she relaxes.
"Okay." she says quietly.
The rest of the trip was spent mostly in silence with Boko killing off mobs that come our way. I just left the loot behind as I had other things on my mind.
Currently I couldn't ride on Boko with this massive supporter bag on my back.
So it takes us a while to make it out as I don't want to teleport and have that skill known.
Once out of the dungeon I head in a certain direction.
"Where are we going?" Lili asks.
"To visit the Loki familia and call in a favor." I tell her calmly.
"You know people in the Loki familia?" She asks in shock as that was one of the stronger familia in the city.
"Yep, their goddess happens to owe me a small debt, I'm going to use that in exchange for her getting your freedom." I say calmly.
Lili is shocked by this even more.
Once we reach the Twilight Manor I stop in front of the guards. "I'm Ryan Grim captain of the Hel familia I was wondering if Loki was free for me to visit? She did inform me to come over anytime." I ask the gaurds.
"Goddess Loki has told us about you Captain Grim, if you could follow me inside I'll check and see if she is free." One of the gaurds says.
I nod and follow him as Lili looks around wide eyed with Boko who just seems happy. "Uh sorry sir but your tamed creature can't really fit inside." The gaurd says sheepishly.
"Boko can you wait here?" I ask the bird.
"Wark." he nods and sits down to wait with his bags jingling.
Heading inside we are led to a waiting room and the guard heads off to find Loki.
A couple minutes later the goddess shows up with Finn, and Riviera following her with a slight smile on her face.
"Hello Ryan, to what do I owe the sudden visit with your guest?" She asks eyeing the spooked pallum.
"I was wondering if you were still good on that wager we had? If so I have a different area I would like it directed and will even sweeten the deal for you." I tell her.
"It is, I always pay my debts." Loki says seriously. "You don't have to add anything if it isn't too troublesome."
I smile slightly. "Great, I was recently in the dungeon and stumbled across the Soma familia."
Loki groans.
"Their captain and 2 others threatened to kill me and tried to rape this girl here in front of me."
Loki slaps her forehead. "I can tell from your previous experience with threats that didn't end well?" Loki asks.
"I killed them, looted their bodies and burned the corpses to ashes." I tell her with a smile.
"The captain of the Soma familia is supposed to be a high ranking level 3." Loki says with a raised eyebrow.
"Do you know what a gun is?" I ask.
"Ahhh, I had forgotten about those things." Loki says with a nod. "So what is it you want?"
"Simple, this girl owes a debt for her freedom, I would like you to pay for it and have it solved so I don't have to go there. I might want her to join my familia, so I need her crest erased." I tell Loki.
Loki considers it first a second before nodding.
"A bit more than we bargained for but an acceptable trade. Alright, I'll send Finn to handle it now, I'll need the girl to go with." Loki says.
