Chapter 7: 7-Hamon 101
Once the Batte Trials had finished, we headed back to the main campus, changed, and attended one more theory class which was Modern Hero Art History with Midnight teaching it. There were six classes to the school day in total, with Homeroom being the first and final one does before heading home, the second being English, the 3rd being math, the 4th is Hero Training, the 5th is Modern Hero Art History and the 6th being back to Homeroom to wrap the day up.
Something I had noticed since being 'Reborn' is how long the U.A school days last, starting at 8:45 and ending around 5:40 which adds up to 8.75 hours of school, around as much as a normal worker would work. Even other schools located in Japan don't have their days all that long, only being around 6 hours which is what I used to as my 'Previous Life' was in Australia.
Kirishima and Bakugo had been assigned to Recovery Girl as Bakugo had two fractured ribs, severe bruising and a concussion, while Kirishima's hardening saved him from sustaining any major injuries, only gaining a minor concussion.
Victoria walks into the room, attracting the attention of everyone there.
"THAT...WAS...AMAZING!!!" Kaminari says as he speeds over to Victoria who prepared for this.
"Yes, indeed, your abilities are quite astonishing, but injuring your fellow classmates that severely on merely a training exercise is a poor judge of character," Ida says as he waves his hand in the air with a chopping motion.
"Yes, I'm sorry Bakugo wanted to blow my face of Ida, so maybe I should have stood idly by while I let him blow me to kingdom come," Victoria says with a sarcastic tone.
"Uh...right, I apologize as that is a fair point," Ida says
"But seriously, you just ate that explosion like it was nothing. Then It looked like you used his Quirk against him" Jiro says, raising the curiosity of the class.
"So what does your Quirk do exactly?" Sato asks
"*Sigh* Fine, I guess I will get this over with. My Quirk is called Hamon" Victoria says as she raises her hand as it emits what looks to be yellow electricity, shocking some of her classmates with how pretty it looks.
"Hamon is a powerful bio-electricity which also shares similar wavelengths with our sun, sharing properties of both. Hamon is most effective when used on living matter or water which both conduct it best, simply passing through anything that doesn't have moisture in contact with it" Victoria says as she walks over to Sato, pulling up his shirt sleeve and sending a weak wave of Hamon into his arm, making it feel completely numb while also causing his arm hairs to rise.
"Wow, it...it feels like I just slept on it," Sato says in amazement.
"That's what Lesser Hamon does, with it's most devastating level of power being able to do nothing beyond making you pass out when there is enough of it present," Victoria says as she walks back over to where she was.
"But Greater Hamon does all that to a colossal magnitude while also having a new multitude of capabilities," Victoria says as she once again raises her hand, but this time the Hamon is emitting as a crimson red, aetherial looking flame.
"This Hamon is hundreds of times more potent then the type you just witnessed, and if anyone of you were to touch it, your hand would be vaporized," Victoria says as she aims her left hand that is making a finger gun position to her right hand, firing a beam of red energy that makes the entire class look away from how bright it is, ending a few seconds later as they look back in anticipation.
Victoria's right hand has received a burn mark on it as she shows it to the class, amazing them.
"What, so it's like you can shoot lasers now?" Kaminari asks
"An accurate way of describing it would be to picture a human as a planet, and a shot of Greater Hamon as the Death Star from Star Wars," Victoria says, getting a few gasps from the class.
"But Hamon was never purely a weapon for destruction, as it can also be a weapon to heal, and change" Victoria says as she shows the class her right and still burnt hand healing from a wave of Hamon.
"So how did you turn your arm into an octopus tentacle?" Tokoyami asks
"As I said before, Hamon is life energy in one of it's purest forms, so I share the pure life energy of the majority of the creatures on this planet, plant and animal life, allowing me to take on the properties of many things," Victoria says as she finishes her misleading but still satisfying explanation of her power by turning her left hand into a Rose and her right into a King Cobra.
"That's...that's so cool!" Kaminari says with a still amazed but underwhelming voice.
"Any other questions?" Victoria asks as she turns her hands back to normal.
"I believe I understand. You 'Hamon' from your body which is pure life energy, being able to use its pure form to use as a weapon, or distil your cells with it to encourage mutations of many different biological lifeforms?" Momo says as she comes to a new understanding.
"Indeed, you hit the nail on the head," Victoria says.
