Chapter 24: Chapter 24 : Here be DRAGONSSS part 2

Arriving in the port town of Junguemore (which is ironic because that's the term for Dragon in my mother's native tongue) was a dull affair. Juli got to nap on the way here so she was wide away and ready to explore, so she and Irene went sightseeing whilst Sheri and I went to our respective rooms to bathe after hours in the hot, grueling sun.

God, I sound like Drake.

Nope. Nope. Don't do this body. It's been over four months. No crying.

...And now I'm crying.

Great.

Damnit, Drake.

I still miss you.

You bastard. No, WAIT-bâtard! You french bastard! because that is surprisingly a language in this world and drake spoke it! Ha.

Tears are the body's way of mourning.

And I've been mourning for four months, fourteen days, and eleven hours.

I'm tired of it.

I'm tired of this pain, this ache.

I'm tired of missing you, you bâtard.

Damnit, Drake.

After my lovely and burning bath, I put on some casual clothes (not my robes, of course. Incognito!) And met Sherri by the front desk before meeting Irene and Juli for lunch at a popular local seafood place.

Yum.

I split a seafood platter with Juli so we could both try a little of everything.

Crab, clam, scallops, oyster, shrimp, the works.

Irene got a salad and something called gumbo, and Sherri got a steak with Shallots and salmon.

And while Sheri and Irene shared a bottle of red wine, Juli and I enjoyed a nice and cooling strawberry lemonade.

It was nice and surprisingly just what I needed after my cry time in the bath.

Afterward, we headed down to the beach where we made sandcastles and looked for seashells and swam, even purchasing some snorkeling items and swimming down to the local reef to watch the fishies swim. I even got to see Irene beat up a shark! If it wasn't such a terrifying experience I would've been cheering her on...from a distance. a very large distance. It was scary, and I'd like for it to never happen again.

Once we got back into town we stopped at a small cafe where we had a mid-afternoon second lunch. That's a thing. don't judge me.

Sheri and I each got a different flavored milk tea (Strawberry for me, and blueberry (oddly) for Sheri.) while Irene got an iced coffee and Juli got a raspberry smootie. We ordered an assortment of cakes and mini sandwiches and pretended to be those posh British people you'd see on BBC in my previous world. It was loads of fun and afterward, we went to the market and window shopped, occasionally going into a few stores and tourist attractions.

That's where Sheri fell and scraped her knee.

After doing a quick diagnostic spell on her, I froze for a few moments-long enough for Sheri and Irene to exchange a curious and somewhat disturbing look- before healing her knee and hands.

Then I looked at Juli very seriously. So seriously that Sheri and Irene tensed.

"Juli," I said, drawing my little sister's attention away from the jewelry stall across from us, and looked deeply into her eyes.

"You're going to be a big sister, congratulations."

And then my mom's world imploded onto itself.
