"Ladies and gentlemen, get ready for our first semifinal match of the day!" Midnight announced as she stood on the podium, initiating the start of the thrilling semifinals. The crowd erupted with excitement, eagerly anticipating the upcoming battle. The day's previous fights had been entertaining, but everyone sensed that something even more exhilarating was about to unfold.
"From the left, let's welcome Shoto Todoroki, whose half hot and half cold quirk has drawn a lot of attention! Many of us are wondering why we haven't seen any flames yet, but I'm sure in this fight, he might just unleash them!" Midnight introduced the formidable combatant.
Stepping into the arena, Shoto couldn't help but glare a bit at Midnight's commentary on his quirk, but he brushed it aside, focusing on the task at hand.
"And on the right, let's welcome Izuku Midoriya, whose quirk is called the 'Throne of Heroes.' It's the first time many of us get to witness this amazing power!" announced Midnight, introducing the other contender.
As Izuku entered the arena, he waved to the cheering crowd before standing confidently at his side, looking at Shoto. "Hey, have you changed your mind yet?" he asked with a touch of seriousness. "Because if you haven't, you're going to be in a lot of pain today."
"No matter what, today is the day I beat you," Shoto replied, his eyes filled with determination.
The crowd roared with excitement at the intense rivalry between the two fighters, fully aware that this match was going to be a spectacle.
"It seems like both of them can't wait to start," Midnight commented with a grin. "And who am I to get in the way of that? Let the first round of the semifinals begin!"
With Midnight's signal, a massive pillar of ice, even larger than the one Shoto had released at the start of the tournament, shot towards Izuku. But before anyone could fully marvel at its size, Izuku was already by Shoto's side, next to his left, the side of flames. Surprising everyone, Izuku simply pushed Shoto to the side, alerting him to his presence.
Shoto quickly reacted, attempting to attack Izuku's location, but Izuku had already vanished, reappearing above the ice pillar. Ensuring he was still within the arena's borders, Izuku looked down at Shoto and said, "If you know anything about my abilities, then you must be aware of my inherent flames. Well, for the duration of this fight, as long as you don't use your left side, I won't use my flames either. After all, you don't stand a chance against me if I use them."
Gritting his teeth in anger, Shoto launched an ice attack at Izuku and shouted, "Are you underestimating me? Do you think I can't-" But before Shoto could finish his sentence, Izuku was right in his face, delivering a kick to his chin.
Izuku approached him and continued, "Are you? I am the amalgamation of all history's heroes, the future greatest hero in the world, and the strongest. I will probably be the pinnacle of all humanity. Yet, here you are, telling me that you won't use half of your power against me? As long as you do that, I won't summon a servant or use my flames, just to show you the difference between us. If you want to be number one, if you want to be the best, then you have to use all your powers and be the best Shoto before you become the best hero."
Izuku deftly dodged multiple ice attacks from Shoto and then landed a kick to his gut. "Your obsession with your father is sickening. You are dooming yourself. You are nothing but a failure if you go this way, just like he was a failure at being a parent. At this rate, even Bakugo will be far stronger than you. Look at you, you have frostbites all over your body. You can't even handle me with no quirk and no flames. How the hell are you going to surpass that bastard known as your father this way?"
Breaking his own rule, Izuku shot a small fireball at Shoto's face, pushing him back. The attack also served to melt the frostbites on Shoto's body. Izuku then stood before him and said, "Feel this. This flame is far weaker than your father's, but I have yet to reach his level. One day, I will. As for you, you'll only wither and weaken with your ice-only attacks. Your ice isn't weak, but it's not at its full potential either because it's missing its other half. You know it, you feel it. Go for it, Shoto. Prove them all wrong. Prove him wrong. Show him today that you are up for the challenge on your own, and show me… Show me that you are worthy. No, I know you are, but what you need to do is claim it… Claim your spot as my rival."
Motivated and pushed to his limit by Izuku's words, Shoto finally let go and unleashed his full power, utilizing his ice quirk to cool the air temperature around them and then heating and expanding the air to release a super-heated blast towards Izuku.
Though Izuku had known the possibilities and strength Shoto possessed, he didn't anticipate the intensity of the attack. The blast pushed him to the final limits of the arena, causing him to sustain more damage than he had ever experienced before.
As the smoke cleared, Shoto stared at Izuku with a mix of shock and determination. "'Flashfreeze Heatwave.' This is my most powerful attack, something I had reserved for instances where a friend, family member, or I were in jeopardy. But today, I want to win. I want to be free. And I can feel it; this power is not my father's; it's mine."
Izuku let out a sigh before replying, "Good. I was getting bored with our fight. Now show me the true strength of your quirk, and I'll show you the full power of the Throne of Heroes."
With determination in his eyes, Izuku activated his quirk, summoning a powerful figure to the amazement of the world. He wanted to show that his era as a hero was about to begin and also give a warning to a certain villain.
"Come forth, King of Knights, Arthur Pendragon!"
