Chapter 316: It Follows

Human, or rather a transcendent human, but Aegis wouldn't mind meeting him in the future, especially if what he was reading was right, Lili Scribe, Solitas' own version of Doom girl?
Looking at the pure data, Aegis knew this woman was a perfect anti-demon soldier, that said, her temper, especially her rage and anger, seemed to be too astronomical in the presence of demons, too much for a normal human mind to handle...

Still, back to the matter, Aegis looked at the Atlan class battle mechs, from 80 to 100 meters tall mechs, the same ones Night Sentinels used...
Aegis wondered from where his people came with these mechs, and maybe they took inspiration from Solitas Sentinels? After all, Atlans look like titans scaled Sentinels...
Or someone was playing in the background... Someone named Zoe, still, Aegis saw no reason to change these mechs, he knew how capable they were in a fight, their energy shoulder cannons, their ability to energy their fists for powerful punches, and their hands that were capable of holding enormous weapons were good prospects, so Aegis didn't mingle into it, he would let this by...
Aegis looked at another update.

Aegis hummed as he looked at the number of orbital defense cannons Album was constantly building and positioning around Remnant and other celestial bodies in Remnant solar system and the Remnant first off-world colony Nirvana that needed them too...

Quite a good number for the amount of time they were in the space, and the number kept increasing every day...
Still, there could be more, but Album was using most resources to create Primis class space stations that served as defense/surveillance/factory and additional Albums processing servers, there were already thirty Primis space stations in the Remnant solar system...
And with their weapons, one Primis station was worthy of ten defense platforms, so a good trade-off in Aegis's opinion...
Then came the fleets, which were quite strange composited, as Solitas had two types of fleets, the normal space warships and Album's drone ships, with a ratio of one to hundred.
Aegis looked at the numbers, Solitas had just ten space fleets, each fleet had one capital ship, the flagship of the fleet, three drone carrier ships, five dreadnoughts, ten battleships, twenty cruisers, thirty frigates, and fifty corvettes...
Plus, each fleet was followed by support class ships that could mine, process materials, create additional ammunitions, and repair ships...
Each fleet needed at least ten thousand naval personnel, otherwise, they were pretty much automated...
The reason why Solitas had just ten fleets of this size was that Solitas preferred quality above quantity when it came to live personnel, plus naval training personnel took years...
But even as such, there was no fear of lack of protection as the most resources went to the Album who was in the process of creating a Mother class ship's, each such ship was enormous enough to house twenty thousands of battle strike drones, the Mother ships weren't just carriers, as they could mine in space and use the material they mined to create new drones, plus their shields and main weapons made them into a nightmare fighting against...
Aegis truly marveled at Album's work, as with each day, she opened new mining facilities in the space and new factories and shipyards from where her Mother ships were churning out, and without the need of organic personnel, Album could make an impossible amount of these ships without the worry of letting them just gather dust in the space, if there was any...
Still, that was a military side of things, thankfully, and Aegis didn't need to worry that these enormous numbers of ships Album built crashed the Solitas economics, as the Solitas military spending was completely cut off from the public economy...
Aegis looked at the census, smiling little as the numbers of people kept increasing, with Solitas technology that made a lot of things possible, people were becoming bored, as they didn't need to work to live, but without working or studying, they were forbidden from any entertainment, as such, the numbers of people who were joining the universities even if they were already past their prime kept increasing, not that age was a worry in Solitas, with the gene treatments people quickly accepted they didn't need to worry about time, and took a lot of things more calmly, still the human nature that made all humans rush into something still made them quite restless in the pursuit of their dreams...
As Aegis was about to look into another report, he stopped as he heard a knocking sound on his doors...
"Aegis."
Aegis tilted his head to the side with a smile on his face.
"Salem, finally outside of your room?"
Aegis asked with a grin, making Salem look at him bemusedly.

"Yes, it is supposed to by a demon or evil spirit that relishes or eats his victim's despair and terror emotions."
"Fucking hell."
Sentinel said, his head looking from side to side as his visor scanned all Solitas know frequencies and light spectrums.
"It is supposed to follow their victim, do we know how he picks his victims?"
One of the Sentinels asked, they were five of them there, their white armors with blue lights gently illuminating the night's darkness as they stalked through the empty beach...
"Supposedly, ITS curse is transferred through sex."
"Really?"
"Yep."
"Fucking perverted evil spirit, great..."
They stopped as their sensors picked a closing car...
"Do you see it?"
"Yes, the person, female by the look, has on herself some kind of magical mark."
"We have our victim."
The Sentinels nodded as they hid behind the bushes, their armors going to stealth mode.
They watched how a tearful teen ran from her car to the beach, pulling out a phone, calling someone, and tearfully saying goodbye to her father...
"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!"
The girl screamed as the form of a male came from nowhere, now closing to her with a grin and black eyes, the girl tried to run but couldn't as she was too terrified...
But as she was expecting the worst, there was a light...
"ENGAGE!"
The girl was still terrified, but now confusedly looked how what looked like from some sci-fi work her father so loved to look at, she watched how the power-armored individuals attacked the thing that followed her from that day she had sex with that man...
"SCREEEEEEE!!!!!!"
"Anti-demon weapons don't work! Use anti-spirit wards!"
The girl couldn't follow the fight as it was too quick for her eyes, she just saw blurs as the, four? Four armored beings attacked the man she slept with, but at that time, it was still a man, but this, whatever this form was, it was no longer human...
"Do not worry."
"AAaahh..."
The girl screamed in shock but then calmed down somehow, as she saw one of these armored individuals kneeling next to her, she noted he still had his helmet in the way he saw the fight and stood before her as if protecting her...
"Tell me your name, you don't need to worry any longer about this thing."

The armored being softly said, and Annie didn't know why, but she felt much safer.

"Pretty much sure, these bounds were crafted by Merlin and Morgana herself, the wards are perfect, and the material is used for ship class armor, so im pretty sure it would hold this thing..."
"Good, good... What about the female victim?"
"Annie is alright, as alright she could get, I already contacted Album about our progress, right now, we let Annie choose to have her memories erased or join Soltias with her father if, in any case, this thing gets out of its restraints, which is zero chance as it's going straight to Moira Vahlens labs, Annie would be much more protected in Solitas cities, after all, Albums drones are always watching..."
"True..."
The Sentinel nodded at his fellow words, even if they saved one girl now, they couldn't know how many future victims they saved by this action, suddenly glad they took the chance to investigate this place that was named Horror universe...
Still, from what they understood, this was just one scenario from hundreds of thousands...
Still, this Earth that was named It Follows was done for the moment, he was still sure that Album would still monitor this Earth, now that the thing that it was based on was in Solitas custody...
