Chapter 43: Chapter 43: Hisoka made a Whoopsie

~Third POV~

The rest of the participants were all running following Satotz to their next destination as Jason was easily following him behind for the rest of the time thereafter with his talk with Hisoka.

Jason was able to sense that some of the people started to drop down getting exhausted from the long endurance while he wasn't tired at all since, with his <Energy Saver> quirk he hardly felt he wasted any energy.

Viewing the events happening as Jason saw from the anime felt confident as his knowledge will be valuable here but with him, in the event, he doesn't know where it will go down at the end.

As soon as everyone is outside showing a huge field that was wet with forest life everywhere that was when everyone was finally outside again as Satotz begins to explain, "Alright everyone was here in the Milsy Wetland. The living beings in the wetlands are going to do all that is possible to have fun and make a good lunch out of all of you."

Satotz turns around back to the group as he spoke seriously say, "Take care not to be surprised. Do your best to follow me."

After that Jason saw the whole scene about the imposter of who's fake and who's really in the scenario but that was quickly cleared up when Hisoka attacked the fake and the real examiner, as well as Satotz, gave Hisoka a warning to not attack him again.

After that Satotz explains that they just simply need to follow him again to get to the second portion of the Hunter Exam passing through the Milsy Wetlands as well as trying not to die.

With that everyone began to quickly go after Satotz as they ran towards him but Jason stuck close to Hisoka as he wanted to get his Nen as soon as possible.

In the Milsy Wetland while everyone was away Hisoka and Jason were finally alone as Hisoka asked Jason with a positive as his fist was filled with Nen, "Are you sure you want to go through with this boy? You could have so much to live for in your rush for power."

That was when Jason spoke out confident as he said to Hisoka with a smirking expression, "Come on Hisoka just do the initiation we – "

*BAM*

*THUD*

That was when Hisoka slugged Jason across the face as to begin the initiation style in Heaven's Arena did to all the people in the tower. Have their Nen awaken by force.

The initiation is achieved by forcing the Aura Nodes to open via an influx of aura. Despite being much quicker, this method is typically frowned upon by Nen instructors due to the danger it poses to the student if the user is inexperienced or has malicious intent, and it is not considered a standard teaching method.

It is referred to as an 'attack' to convey the taboo on it, which is because non-users who awaken this way without having received an appropriate amount of training might take damage from the process or suffer from exhaustion for a long time due to being unable to control the aura leakage in all but the rarest cases.

Hisoka saw that Jason was sent flying to a tree as he crashed to it forming a small crater from the impact as he observes him with shock on his face as he thought to himself, 'What! I know that his aura for Nen has awakened but… this amount his releasing is that to a Master Enhancer amount Nen capacity. And the valve of his aura from him is not stopping!'

True to what Hisoka was watching that the punch filled with Nen was intended to unlock Jason's aura nodes as they are needed to release aura.

Aura is the life energy produced by all living bodies vital for survival in the Hunter X Hunter world. Aura from all parts of the body has a tendency to flow together, producing one mass of energy. This happens without the individual's awareness, typically resulting in a slow leak of aura continually escaping the body and stemming up and off the top of the head.

The pores or points on the body from which aura flows out are called 'Aura Nodes'. In normal conditions, aura leaks away constantly without exceedingly harmful consequences; however, if someone whose Aura Nodes are fully open does not attempt to close them or control the flow of their aura, they will soon grow so fatigued they will be unable to stand or even lose consciousness.

Grave wounds such as mutilations can disrupt the flow of aura in the affected body part and even stop it altogether. Controlling one's Aura Nodes is the first step to becoming a Nen user.

Aura can be seen only after the Aura Nodes in the eyes are opened. People who have not trained in Ten will leak aura similar to water vapor from a kettle. Nonetheless, sensitive individuals can feel its presence without being aware of its existence.

It has been described as feeling like a warm, viscous fluid at rest, whereas powerful, refined auras produce a sensation that feels akin to needles pricking into the skin. Hostile aura generates extremely unpleasant sensations, which can cause non-user to halt in their tracks and be unable to walk towards the source as if a wall had been erected in front of them.

Since every living being emits aura subconsciously, learning to sense aura is a useful skill for those tracking living things or hunting non-living things infused with aura. An experienced user of Nen can judge the location and relative strength of their opponents by reading the output of their aura. On the other hand, skilled Nen users can also regulate the flow of their aura so they appear to be beginners or regular individuals.

Normal users of Nen would release a small amount based on the talent and potential of the individual but what Hisoka saw was Jason Nen being extremely potent as if it was never-ending.

While all living things possess aura and all humans, as well as possibly beings of other species, can master Nen, some excel at its usage more than others. What exactly factors into potential is, for the most part, a mystery, but it appears to be predominantly a congenital factor, since statistical estimations about its rarity can be made and evidence points against it changing for one's life.

The rubric of 'potential' or 'talent' entails both the maximum degree of mastery that one could achieve and the speed of one's learning, which seem to be directly proportional: the faster one learns, the higher their upper ceiling is assumed to be.

It is important to note that learning rate can have multiple meanings as the circumstances of one's growth can also combine with one's talent to facilitate learning, further highlighting that rate of progression should not be taken as a perfectly transparent indicator of one's maximum potential, although in general it can be considered fairly reliable.

Of course, potential alone does not ensure that one will grow into a powerful Nen user, with one's regimen of training being fundamental in this regard.

But in this case, Jason was already above the normal human means thanks to his immersive talent in all things humans could've already done in the Danganronpa world. Combine his talents with the quirk OFA that can give the user the possibility of endless potential growth the talent and potential of Jason were already high before.

Now that Hisoka was viewing everything after unlocking Jason Nen he saw the large abundance of Aura being released as he looked at Jason with clear shock, "Oh my now this was completely unexpected seeing that a large amount of aura was being released. The potential and talent he wields must be very immense to cause this much to be released. If that is the case, then what exactly is his growth rate will be if he survives?"

*Swoosh*

Just as Hisoka was wondering about its Jason started to get himself out of the tree as he rubs his face from the sudden slug to the face. But that was when he noticed his aura of his Nen being released as he views all of it from focusing the Nen into his eyes as he sees it escaping but also some being absorbed.

The ones being absorbed were from his <Energy Absorption> quirk as it began to absorb the unknown energy into his body while the <Adapt> quirk helped Jason get adjusted to his Nen in the progress.

But since Hisoka didn't know that part he just assumed that Jason was picking it up by instinct as all the excess Aura from his aura nodes were being released. Jason finally noticed it began to command his body using OFA to control the flow of his recently awaken Aura Nodes as he began to control them as if it was a part of his body.

Quickly viewing that he had his aura contained Hisoka for his part was dumbfounded looking at Jason as he managed to get that much aura comparable to an Enhance Master or less aura capacity with just getting his Nen recently unlocked.

The idea merely baffled him as this was the completely first thing happening to him. However, it didn't dissuade him as he was pretty much ensured that his future investment just became getting diamonds from the rocks.

Jason on the other hand was glancing at his body with clear shock at how his body managed to correctly get the aura nodes under his control as he grinned wickedly at this. The new sense of power was like being showered by some force empowering his muscles, blood, cells, and more that he was very excited.

Alter Ego soon made her report to him with newfound shock on her end as she began to speak while correctly analyzing his body, 'Sir… I did a bio scan on your body and it completely adapted to your new source of power. Nen is a very frighting power now that you have gained the functions to produce it.'

Jason on his end was observing the clear white aura color as he talked with Alter Ego in his head as he spoke to her in a curious tone, 'Agree with you on that one Alter Ego. This Nen is extremely versatile more than my quirks from MHA. But at the same time, I'm glad to have another bodily function such as Aura Nodes in my body as the pores or points on the body from which aura flows out are used to release Aura. I wonder if I train my OFA I can practically produce an infinite amount of aura in the future?'

Thinking of that a shiver ran down his spine as he thought of that possibility but then again it would require a lot of thinking around to pull it off or if it was possible or not.

As Jason was looking at the shocked expression on his face, he began to quickly move forward away from him as he went to catch up with the examiner, "Thanks for the help Hisoka couldn't have done it without you! I'll see you later at the end of the exam take care!"

Hisoka for his part just looked at Jason with clear amusement written on his face as he talked to himself in an awkward tone, "Well that happened just now. Guess I just helped birth a New Nen user. An EXTREMELY new but powerful one at that. Hmm… I wonder what's his Hatsu ability will become with his monstrous aura. Ah~ The thoughts alone excite me. I can't wait."

During this portion of the hunter exam, Jason has done his best to get through the whole ordeal even through the thickest of fogs with his <Search> and <Scanning> quirk as he can easily locate the examiner.

Jason also sensed that the other participants were being killed off by the magic beasts that were living in the Milsy Wetlands he didn't bother to save them since they all know full and well that death was part of the exam and Alex didn't want to reveal his full power unless it was necessary for him.

Ignoring the part where Hisoka fought against Gon and the others Jason has finally arrived to be the first to arrive at the second part of the exam that shows a building guarded with walls and is a bit surprised to hear Satotz speak to him, "My, my participant 403 you certainly followed my instruction so congratulations on following me, but I hope you do well in your next part. Although I congrats on unlocking your Nen."

Jason looks a bit surprised but answers his response kindly, "Oh, thank you very much Satotz. Just a bit surprised mine was that big honestly."

Satotz nods his head and says with an uncaring tone but also a warning, "Of course 403, make sure to not give anyone else no Nen or else you fail automatically got it… oh, looks like the others started to arrive."

*Gulp*

Jason for his part gulped at that as he was very close to losing his literal jail get out of free card like that but calmed himself for what's to come, 'Ok that was close there since the whole Nen thing is supposed to be a secret and frown upon, but I managed somehow. But now comes the second exam the food portion. Hope I make some good sushi to appease the Gourmet Hunter using my talent as the <Ultimate Cook>.'
