A/N: After some thinking, I decided that Ashlyn should only focus on the Battle Frontier and not the Grand Festival. Besides, she has the title 'Top Coordinator', so she won't need to participate in the contests.

Ashlyn and the gang had finally arrived at the kingdom of Rota. Before they arrived, they ran into a Team Rocket problem on the way there. Luckily the gang was able to send them blasting off before they could even try to take their Pokémon. So they took the mountain way through Mt. Moon. Oddly enough, they met up Seymour. May and Max were delighted to see the Cleffa, Clefairy, and Clefable's playing around. When the full moon came out, everyone was able to watch the ceremony where some of the Cleffa, Clefairy's, and Clefable's evolve around the Moonstone. Before they left, a Cleffa took a liking to May and wanted to go with her. So May decided to catch her.
Soon enough, Misty had split off with them when they came to the crossroads to Cerulean City. She wished Ashlyn and Alain on the Battle Frontier and May with the contests. Everyone would miss the Cerulean City Gym leader and knew that they would meet again someday. Then they went their separate ways.

Ashlyn and the gang had come to Cameran Palace in Rota to participate in the festival that's happening in Rota which is called the Aura Guardian Festival. Ever since Sir Aaron saved Rota 2,000 years ago, Rota held a festival every year in honor of him and the main event was a Pokémon battle tournament, and the winner was given the honor of being the new hero of the year.
Of course, Ashlyn was going to enter the battle tournament and the others were going to watch. When the gang arrived, they realized that everyone had to dress up in medieval clothing for the festival, but Max told the others that they didn't have any costumes. Brock told them not to worry because they had plenty of costumes in the palace and they could get some there.
"I can't believe we are really at the home place of Sir Aaron." Ashlyn beamed.
Before she headed off to the Battle Frontier, her mom gave her a journal that was written by her psychic ancestor, Celestia. Her mom had found it in the attic while cleaning. She thought that Ashlyn should read it. She had finished reading the day before they left Pallet Town. She was amazed that Celestia lived in Rota 2,000 years ago. She hoped to ask the queen if there are any records of Celestia in Rota.
Ashlyn knew about the story of Sir Aaron because she had read the story lots of times. But she also remembered what truly happened to him and his Lucario.
"Yeah, and I'm happy we're attending the festival." May added, happily.

The gang entered the room and Ashlyn, Alain, Brock, May and Max began to search for what to wear for the festival. Just then Tesla noticed a Pichu, but they didn't know it was really Mew in disguise. Mew then hid behind the curtain and transformed into Treecko and left, leaving Tesla confused. A minute later the gang picked out their costumes. Ember wore a blue tunic over a gray long-sleeved shirt and gray pants, matched with blue gloves and boots and a black hat with a teal band and a hooded cape. Alain wore the same outfit as well. Brock wore a beige robe similar to that of a priest covered by some sort of cape or mantle in brown, green, orange, and trimmed with gold, all topped with an orange skullcap. May wore a white, pink and red ball gown decorated with tiny bows and with a decoration similar to Beautifly wings on the back. In her hair she wore a large pink bow styled to look like her regular bandanna. Max was dressed as a prince with a red and yellow beret and a green cape. They dressed up Tesla too; Tesla was dressed as a jester. Then once everyone was ready, they headed off for the battle tournament.

It was now time for the battle tournament to begin. The battle stadium was a medieval theme battle arena with hundreds of balconies, where those who weren't battling stood to watch.
"Presenting her royal majesty, the illustrious ruler of Cameran Palace, Queen Ilene!" The referee announced.
Queen Ilene and her maid, Jenny, were standing on the separate top balcony, and she had a Pokémon called Mime Jr with her. Mime Jr was the pre-evolved form of Mr. Mime and it loved to mime anything that someone was doing.
"And now, in honor of Sir Aaron and his noble deeds, we will now begin our annual Pokémon tournament!" Queen Ilene announced.
The battle tournament now started, and Ashlyn was up first. Her first opponent used a Breloom and Ashlyn of course used Tesla. All the battles in the tournament were one on one Pokémon battles. Tesla gave Breloom a real shock with her Thunder Shock, even though she destroyed her jester costume, and then tackled it hard with quick attack and then Iron Tail. Breloom fainted which made Tesla and Ashlyn the winners of the match.

The battles went on until it was the final battle round. Ashlyn and Tesla made it to the final round and her last opponent, who dressed as a knight in shining armor, used a Pokémon called Weavile. Weavile was the evolved form of Sneasel. The Weavile turned out to be very strong, especially with the moves Shadow Ball, Blizzard and Slash. But Tesla managed to knock it out with Thunder Shock and Focus Punch. So Ashlyn was the winner of the Pokémon Battle Tournament.
Ashlyn was about to run over to Tesla to hug her, but then an Aipom ran over to Tesla first and congratulated her.
Just then Ashlyn's eyes opened in wonder, 'Wait a minute,' She thought 'that Aipom is really a Mew.'
The aura was somewhat familiar to her. But she knew that this wasn't Keiko (Mew).
Ashlyn couldn't understand yet why a Mew was here. Just then her opponent came up and took off the helmet. It was a woman named Kidd.
"Great battle," Kidd said, "You're the strongest trainer I've ever met."
"Thank you." Ashlyn thanked her.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Kidd." Kidd greeted.
"I'm Ashlyn." Ashlyn greeted back.
At that moment, Brock showed up, holding Kidd's hand, "And I'm Brock, at your service. I just wanted you to know that if you're ever in need of a squire, you can always count on-"
Max grabbed Brock by the ear, "Good grief! Even a suit of armor isn't enough protection from you!" He dragged Brock away.
"The ear!" Brock yelped.
'Aipom' and Tesla laughed at Brock's predicament.

After the battle tournament was over it was now time for the grand ball of the festival. Queen Ilene presented Sir Aaron's staff to Ashlyn, as she was the new hero of the year. Ever since Sir Aaron died, the royal family of Rota had kept Sir Aaron's staff. Ashlyn was in awestruck to see Sir Aaron's staff and she was happy to hold it. Just then when she looked at the crystal, she thought she heard someone say,
'Why?' A voice called out.
"Jenny, did you just say something?" Ashlyn asked.
"No, I didn't." Jenny replied.
Soon the ballroom dancing had begun. May and Brock were dancing with different partners. May was with a man named Freddy and Brock was dancing with Kidd. Kidd had changed into a different costume and was dressed as a lady-in-waiting. Alain and Max weren't dancing and were getting something to eat from the buffet table with Tesla and the Aipom disguised Mew.
Ashlyn, being the new hero, had to stay sitting on the throne chair and look proud like a real hero. May decided to release her Pokémon Combusken, Squirtle, Munchlax, Bulbasaur and Starmie to enjoy themselves. Seeing May's Pokémon made Ashlyn asked Jenny if she could release her Pokémon.
"Yes you can but be quick." she requested.
So Ashlyn quickly released Kazuki (Sceptile), Sebastian (Crawdaunt), Percy (Swellow), Shula (Torkoal), Talos (Silvally), Lucario (Cobalt) and Kurama (Zoroark) to enjoy the party, and then went back on the throne. Talos walked back over to Ashlyn, not really wanting to go near the other people. Ashlyn petted his head, to keep him calm.

Ashlyn couldn't stop staring at Sir Aaron's staff and she swore that she heard a voice coming from it.
'There is something strange about this staff, I can feel it.' Ashlyn thought.
"We will now pay one last tribute to Sir Aaron. Our new guardian will the signal to start the fireworks." Queen Ilene said, breaking Ashlyn out of her thoughts.
"Assume the pose of the guardian, Sir Aaron." Jenny whispered beside Ashlyn.
Ashlyn glanced at the painting of Sir Aaron on the wall next where Ashlyn was standing. Ashlyn did the same pose of Sir Aaron in the painting. There was another painting of Sir Aaron on the wall, but this one had him with his Pidgeot. But there was none of him with Lucario.
Suddenly the crystal on the staff started to glow.
'I believed in you.' The voice said.
"I think there is something inside the staff!" Ashlyn gasped.
Suddenly a light came out of the staff. The light formed into Lucario.
"Lucario?!" Ashlyn gasped.
"(Sir Aaron,)" Lucario said and appeared right in front of Ashlyn, "(Why did you abandon the Queen?!)"
"Excuse me Lucario, but I'm not Sir Aaron." Ashlyn said.
Lucario started to open his eyes again; the dirt from his eyes loosened. Then he saw Ashlyn in front of him, got confused and ran off.
"I think that was Sir Aaron's Lucario." Ashlyn said to Queen Ilene.
Queen Ilene was surprised by this.

Queen Ilene, Ashlyn, Alain, Brock and May found Lucario in a room where a display of old things like watches and jewelry were. Ashlyn knew that this was once Sir Aaron's room.
"Lucario." Queen Ilene called out.
"(Queen Rin!)" Lucario smiled when he saw Queen Ilene.
"Lucario, I am not Queen Rin, I am Queen Ilene." Queen Ilene explained.
She told Lucario that Queen Rin was her ancestors and he had been asleep in Sir Aaron's staff for 2,000 years. Lucario couldn't believe of what Queen Ilene said.
Suddenly Ashlyn saw something on the wall of the room; it was a painting of her psychic ancestor, Celestia.
"Hey that's my ancestor Celestia." Ashlyn said.
The others stared at it.
"Is she the one who you got your psychic powers from, Ashlyn?" May asked.
Ashlyn had explained to the rest of the gang about Celestia after she had read the journal that her mom had found.
"You are a psychic, Ashlyn?" Jenny asked.
Ashlyn used her psychic power to remove all the paintings in the room off the walls and placed them back on again. Queen Ilene, Jenny and Lucario were surprised by that.
"(I feel that you also have power over aura.)" Lucario said to Ashlyn.
"Power over aura?" Ashlyn blinked, "Wait a minute, I have felt another power building within me, but it wasn't my psychic power."
Ashlyn told how she was always able to find people or detect others since she was very young. "It was because of that I was able to see where I was going when we got separated or when Team Rocket was around."
"Wow Ashlyn, that must mean you do have the power over aura." Brock said.
"I think you're right." Ashlyn agreed.

Everyone went back to the ballroom; all the guests had left by now. Queen Ilene asked Lucario what had happened at the battle 2,000 years ago. Lucario explained about the war with the red and green armies, and about Sir Aaron sealing him into the staff and abandoning the castle. Everyone was surprised to hear that, especially Ashlyn.
"But the story said that Sir Aaron saved Rota from that battle." May whispered to the others.
"There must be more to this story that we don't know about." Alain whispered.
Queen Ilene said to Lucario that he was welcome to stay at Cameran Palace as long as he wanted and Lucario accepted the offer.
"Lucario, why did you think I was Sir Aaron?" Ashlyn asked.
"(Your aura felt the same as Sir Aaron's aura.)" Lucario replied.
Queen Ilene turned to Ashlyn. "Ashlyn, there is something about your ancestor Celestia that you need to know." she stated.
Queen Ilene explained that Celestia was around at the same time Sir Aaron was around.
"I have a journal about Celestia at home," Ashlyn said, "and I know that my family had been around for 2,000 years."
"(I remember Celestia,)" Lucario spoke up, "(she worked at Cameran Palace. And when Sir Aaron and I started living in the palace, we met her there as well as Queen Rin and Sir Aaron and Celestia became friends ever since.)"
"That's correct, but there is a secret about Sir Aaron and Celestia," Queen Ilene confirmed, "the truth is those two fell in love ever since they first met."
Ashlyn and Lucario couldn't believe their ears.
"(I never knew that.)" Lucario said.
"That's because Sir Aaron and Celestia feared that if anyone knew about their secret relationship, Sir Aaron's enemies would have learnt about it and Celestia would have been in danger," Queen Ilene explained, "my ancestor Queen Rin learnt about their relationship from Celestia after Sir Aaron died, and she also revealed that she was carrying Sir Aaron's child."
The gang and Lucario were surprised with that.
"The journal said that she was already with child when she married into my family, but she never really revealed of who the father was," Ashlyn informed, "all she said that he had died, and as soon as she gave birth to a son, the family adopted it as their own right away."
"My ancestor and Celestia vowed to never let anyone know, at that time, that the child was Sir Aaron's, in case it would have meant trouble for both Celestia and the child." Queen Ilene stated.
"Wait a minute," Alain interrupted, "This would mean...that you're a descendant of Sir Aaron Ashlyn, and that's why you have the same aura as Sir Aaron."
Everyone was surprised to hear especially Ashlyn, because she never knew this until now. Lucario felt the same way. She always thought that maybe Ash was the reincarnation of Sir Aaron. But this fact proved her wrong.
Suddenly Max ran into the room with the Pokémon.
"Guys we saw Mew and it flew off with Tesla!" Max yelled, "The strange thing about Mew was that it was blue instead of pink!"
"(A blue Mew?)" Lucario asked.
Max was surprised to see Lucario, "Who are you?!" He gasped.
"This is Sir Aaron's Lucario. He was sealed inside his staff. Somehow Ashlyn was able to set him free." Alain explained.
"Max, are you sure that you saw a different colored Mew?" May asked, who didn't believe them.
"They aren't making it up May," Ashlyn said, "I saw Mew earlier and it was disguised as an Aipom. My guess is that the Mew he saw was a shiny one."
"I saw Mew too." said a voice; it was Kidd. "Mew transformed into a Pidgeot and flew away with Tesla and a Meowth."
Queen Ilene and Jenny explained that Mew lived in the Tree of Beginning and that he loved to visit Cameran to take toys to play with. But of course, he never returned the toys it took.
"I do understand if he wants Tesla to play with, but I want Tesla back." Ashlyn said, a bit crossly.
Queen Ilene showed the gang where the Tree of Beginning was on the balcony.
"Lucario, do you remember the way to the Tree of Beginning?" Queen Ilene asked.
"(I do.)" Lucario replied.
"Then I ask you to guide the kids to the tree of beginning and help them save Tesla tomorrow." Queen Ilene requested.
"(I accept.)" Lucario accepted the quest.
"I'm coming too." Kidd said.
"So why are you after Mew, Kidd?" Ashlyn asked, cautiously.
"I only want to solve mysteries of the Tree of Beginning. I was only going to follow Mew, so that I may have that chance." Kidd explained.
Those words made Ashlyn feel a lot better, knowing that Kidd wasn't here to catch Mew.

Later that night, Ashlyn, wearing her normal clothes, found Lucario, who was looking at the portrait of Sir Aaron.
"I wanted to say thank you for agreeing to help get Tesla back, Lucario." Ashlyn said.
"(Who is Tesla? Are you her master?)" Lucario asked.
"Tesla is a Raichu. No, Tesla is my friend," Ashlyn replied, "All of my Pokémon are my friends. Just like you and Sir Aaron were friends."
"(I'm only helping you because of Queen Ilene. That's all. Nothing more.)" Lucario stated, angrily.
Then he left the room as Ashlyn watched him leave. She didn't like Lucario's attitude; it seemed that Lucario was starting to hold a grudge on Sir Aaron because he still believed that Sir Aaron abandoned him.

Next day Kidd, the gang and Lucario set off for the tree of beginning to find Tesla. Kidd had a Humvee with her to make the journey go quick. The day was very foggy and it was hard to see anything, but Lucario's aura helped them find the way through the fog. Kidd had heard about aura and told the others what it was and about aura guardians who could use the power of aura.
"I'm surprised that you are a descendant of Sir Aaron, Ashlyn and that you have the power of aura too." Kidd admitted.
The gang told Kidd last night about what they found out about Celestia and Sir Aaron.
"I'm still surprised myself, Kidd. I've had aura since I was kid, but never fully mastered it." Ashlyn admitted.
"How did you activate your aura power, Ashlyn?" May asked.
"Well it's a bit hard to explain," Ashlyn replied, "When Alain and I were very little, we got lost in a forest. It was close to getting dark out. I knew that we needed to find our way through the forest. Then a blue light appeared in my eyes, even though they were closed, and it showed me the surroundings of the forest. It was because of that, I was able to find us a pathway out of the forest."
"That means your aura reacted on your thought of finding your way, Ashlyn," Kidd guessed, "I heard that aura reacts to the feelings of the aura user."
Ashlyn knew that she had a lot to learn about aura.

Later that day Kidd and the gang stopped to have lunch. Lucario had something to eat too, but he ate berries that grew in the area. Suddenly the gang got a little intruder; a small brown and green Pokémon that looked like a little tree. This Pokémon was a Bonsly, the pre-evolved form of Sudowoodo and it was hungry. Lucario gave the Bonsly some berries.

Later on, the gang stopped at a valley full of geysers and hot springs. They couldn't go anywhere because of the geysers so they decided to relax in the hot springs with some of their Pokémon. Bonsly had followed the gang, but it couldn't go into the springs because it was a rock type. So it stayed with the other Pokémon.
Even though Ashlyn was enjoying the hot spring, she was still thinking about Tesla, and hoping she was all right.
Max called out to Lucario to join the hot spring with them, but Lucario refused.
"Maybe Lucario doesn't like hot springs." May whispered to Max.
Ashlyn stared at Lucario; she saw Lucario's memory of the hot spring with her psychic power, and she felt that Lucario's grudge was starting to grow because of his memories.
Just then May called out to Ashlyn and asked her what that was; there was some sort of weird flower on the cliff above them. Ashlyn and Alain climbed up the cliff to see what it was, taking care to be careful. What the thing was a purple-blue crystal formation that looked like a flower. Ashlyn and Alain climbed back down the cliff and told May what it was.
"That must be a Time Flower." Kidd said.
Kidd explained that Time Flowers were crystal flowers that grew in Rota and they had the ability to record past events. "And only those with the power of aura can activate the time flower to see the past events in a hologram."
"Wow, so maybe I can activate the time flowers," Ashlyn said, "I'll try it out when we see another Time Flower."

That night Kidd and the gang were sitting around a campfire, and Kidd was asking Ashlyn some questions. She wanted to know how Ashlyn first activated her psychic power and she wanted to know how Ashlyn met Tesla. Ember explained about how she first rescued a Totodile in New Bark Town in the Johto Region.
"It felt weird though when I did that, because I didn't know that I had psychic powers until that time in Catallia City." Ashlyn admitted.
"Oh I understand," Kidd said, "I once heard that sometimes it takes time and growth for the power you were born with to reveal itself. So now time and growth had revealed your aura power now."
"I guess so." Ashlyn guessed.
But Ashlyn believed that the battle between Mewtwo and Keiko might have sped up the awakening a little.
Ashlyn then talked about the day that she and Tesla met. "It was when I was five and I was exploring the forest near Prof. Oak's corral. I found a Raichu who was malnourished with several bruises. I brought Tesla to Prof. Oak so that she can get treatment. At first Tesla was sensitive when she first saw me, because as you know Pokémon do get sensitive when they see strangers. So I was able to show her that I meant no harm. But then Tesla jumped onto my shoulder with a smile and accepted me at once."
"Wow Ashlyn, it sounds like Tesla trusted you at once." May commented.
"Yes and you know the rest, our bond started to grow more as we grew older and started our journey through Kanto the first time." Ashlyn said.
"(Trust is meaningless!)" Lucario spoke up, "(You humans can't be trusted!)"
Ashlyn started to get really cross about Lucario's attitude now. "Listen to me you!" She shouted, "I felt your grudge on Sir Aaron. But you don't know what really happened when Sir Aaron sealed you into the staff, and you don't even know why he did it. So don't go thinking that Sir Aaron abandoned you! And don't start holding grudges on us either!"
"Ashlyn, calm down." May ordered.
Lucario glared at Ashlyn as she glared back at him. Ashlyn walked off in a huff and so did Lucario.
"I'll go talk with her." Alain offered.

Alain found Ashlyn sitting next to Kidd's Humvee. He walked over and sat down next to her.
"Ashlyn, you sounded a bit hard on Lucario." Alain said.
"But what could I have said?!" Ashlyn exclaimed, "Lucario is starting to hold a grudge on Sir Aaron and he's starting to think that I would ditch Tesla, which is something that I would never do!"
"I do understand what you're saying, Ashlyn," Alain understood, "but we don't know what happened either."
"I know, which is why as well as finding Tesla, we're going to try and find out what really happened with Sir Aaron, even if it means asking Mew himself." Ashlyn said.
Alain could see that Ashlyn really want to find out about the real story with Sir Aaron and decided not to argue with Ashlyn more. Alain wrapped his arm around Ashlyn and pulled her close to him.
"Don't worry, I'm sure that Tesla is alright." Alain assured Ashlyn.
"I hope so." Ashlyn prayed.

The next day Lucario, Kidd and the gang were travelling to the Tree of Beginning again. But then Lucario came to a stop; they arrived at the area where Sir Aaron sealed him into the staff 2,000 years ago. Lucario spotted a time flower and touched it. The time flower activated, and it showed them a hologram of Sir Aaron sealing Lucario into the staff and running off, just before the red and green armies started to attack each other. Kidd and the gang were confused by this; the legend said that Sir Aaron saved Rota from the armies. But now they weren't sure what the truth was or not.
Ashlyn walked up to Lucario. "Listen Lucario," she said, "I have this feeling that says that this mystery is not solved yet. I believe that there is a reason why Sir Aaron sealed you into the staff and left Cameran Palace, and I will help you solve this mystery and find the real truth about my ancestor's actions."
Lucario stared at Ashlyn, "(I believe you, Ashlyn.)"
Suddenly Lucario felt that something was coming, and he pushed Ashlyn out of the way. A brown Pokémon that looked like a moving boulder came out of the ground. This Pokémon was called a Regirock and it was one was the three Legendary Golems; the other two were called Registeel and Regice. Regirock fired hyper beam everyone, trying to make Kidd and the gang leave. Lucario fought back with aura sphere and then he led the humans into a tunnel of the cliffs.
"Why did that Regirock attack us?" Kidd asked.
"I guess that Regirock must be guarding the Tree of Beginning," Ashlyn replied, "and it probably doesn't want us humans to go anywhere it. I've read that the Legendary Golems Regirock, Registeel and Regice are the guarding type Pokémon, and they don't take kindly to intruders."
"Then we have to find Tesla and leave as soon as possible." Alain declared.
Lucario led the way through the tunnel and then they came to a big, beautiful garden, where crystal formations were seen nearly everywhere.
"Where are we?" May asked.
"We're underneath the Tree of Beginning." Kidd replied.
Many wild Pokémon lived at the Tree of Beginning and by surprise fossil Pokémon were living there too. There were Aerodactyl, Omanyte, Lileep and Armaldo. Kidd and the gang were happy to be at the Tree of Beginning at last.
"Lucario, lead the way, please." Ashlyn pleaded, who was really desperate now to find Tesla.
Lucario nodded, "(Follow me.)"

As the gang started to search for Tesla, Kidd took out some of her robot gadgets to film the Tree of Beginning for Banks to look at. Lucario led Ashlyn to another part of the Tree of Beginning and told her that Tesla was somewhere above them. Ashlyn called out to Tesla. "Can you hear me?!" She shouted.
Suddenly a blast of ice was shot at Ashlyn. It was Regice; Regice was an ice type and it looked like a big block of ice. Ashlyn tried to reason with Regice, telling it she only wanted to find her Raichu, Tesla, but Regice wouldn't listen. Lucario fought back with Aura Sphere.
"(Run! Get into the tunnels! You should be safe there!)" Lucario ordered.
Ashlyn and the others ran into the tunnels for safety.

After some running, they ran into Jessie and James, who had been chased by Regirock and Registeel, a steel type Pokémon that looked like a big boulder of steel. So now all three legendary golems were trying to make the humans leave. Everyone went over a stone bridge and Lucario destroyed the middle of the bridge to escape from the golems. But then something else bad happened; the red blobs of energy arrived and absorbed Jessie. James tried to free her with his Cacnea but the attack didn't work and the blob ended up absorbing him too. James quickly released all of his Pokémon so they wouldn't get absorbed too.
Kidd asked Banks what the red things were, and Banks explained that they were the Tree of Beginnings white blood cells and they protected the tree from diseases and other bad things that would harm the tree. Things were getting bad.
"I'll lead them away while you find a way out of here and we'll meet up later." Ashlyn declared.
"You got it." Kidd said with her thumb up.
"I'm going with you, Ashlyn." Alain decided.
Ashlyn nodded at that. Then she, Alain, and Lucario stayed behind while the others keep running. Lucario stayed with Ashlyn because he wanted help Ashlyn to find Tesla. Ashlyn sent out Kazuki and Alain sent out Sceptile to help distract Regirock and Registeel.

Kidd, May, Max and Brock were now trying to find a way out of the tunnels, but then the red blobs appeared. The red blobs started to swallow up Max and he released all of his Pokémon at once. May and Brock got caught too and they released all of their Pokémon too. Kidd saw the situation and ran off before the blobs could get her, leaving the Pokémon to mourn for their trainers.

At that time, Tesla was still searching for Ashlyn. She came to a crevice, where a lot of crystal pillars were, and she called out for Ashlyn again. Ashlyn heard Tesla's echo in another tunnel, and she followed the sound with Alain, Sceptile, Kazuki and Lucario following. Ashlyn came to the crevice, and she spotted Tesla.
"I'm coming, Tesla!" Ashlyn shouted.
She jumped from crystal to crystal to get to Tesla, while Tesla did the same to get to Ashlyn. Unfortunately, the crevice had strong winds blowing and it was trying to blow Ashlyn away. With so much struggling Ashlyn and Tesla finally made it to each other, but then they fell off a crystal pillar. Luckily for them, Kidd was there at the right time and she saved them with her grappling hook. Ashlyn and Tesla were happy to finally be together again.
Ashlyn introduced Tesla to Lucario and Lucario was happy to see that Ashlyn and Tesla were together again. He also realized that the bond between Ashlyn and Tesla were very strong.
Just then shiny Mew and Meowth turned up along with Alain and the two Sceptile's.
"We're glad that you're alright, Tesla." Alain said.
"Mew!" The shiny Mew greeted.
Ashlyn and Alain smiled at the shiny Mew who floated around them playfully.
Suddenly Regice appeared and everyone started to run again.
"Kidd, what happened to the others?" Alain questioned.
"They were swallowed up by the red blobs." Kidd answered.
Ashlyn and Alain's eyes widened with shock.
"What about Jessie and James?" Meowth asked.
"They got swallowed up by the red blobs too." Ashlyn replied.
"No way." Meowth said, sadly.
Worse trouble came. As Lucario tried to find a way out he got caught by Registeel. Ashlyn and Alain tried to help him but then the red blobs appeared and started to absorb Ashlyn, Alain and Kidd. The three knew they couldn't be saved, and they took out their Pokémon.
"This is goodbye." Kidd said to her Weaviles.
"Look after everyone!" Alain yelled.
"Tesla, take care of yourself and the others!" Ashlyn shouted.
Sceptile grabbed onto Alain's wrist as Kazuki grabbed onto Ashlyn's. The Pokémon tried to pull their trainers out. Lucario freed himself from Registeel to try to save Ashlyn, but it was too late...Ashlyn, Alain and Kidd were gone. The Pokémon started to cry for their trainers, and Lucario wasn't happy either because he found a friend in Ashlyn. The only sounds in the cave were the cries of the Pokémon.

Ashlyn could see herself surrounded by darkness. Then she heard beeping sounds. They sounded like a heart monitor that are used at hospitals. She soon started hearing voices.
"It's been four months since she's been here."
"Are there any signs of her waking up?"
"I'm not sure."
"How heartless are you?!"
"You only care about Mary but not Isabel?!"
"You don't deserve her!"
Suddenly Ashlyn's surroundings turned white.

Ashlyn slowly opened her eyes and saw her Pokémon right in front of her.
"Hey everyone." Ashlyn smiled.
All of her Pokémon pounced on her and snuggled her.
"It's so good to see you all." Ashlyn said.
Alain stood next to her and held out his hand to her. She grabbed onto his hand, and he helped her to her feet. Then he pulled her into his arms.
"Thank goodness you're alright." Alain whispered in her ear.
"I'm glad you're alright too." Ashlyn hugged him back.
The Pokémon were happy to have their trainers back and Lucario was happy to see Ashlyn was all right. Regirock and Registeel understood now that the humans were not intruders and they left them alone.
"So what happened? How are we alive?" Ashlyn questioned.
"Mew talked to the Tree of Beginning and told it that the humans were not diseases." Meowth explained.
"I get it! It all makes sense." Kidd realized.
"What makes sense?" Alain asked.
"Mew lives here because Mew and the Tree of Beginning are connected to each other and depended on each other too." Kidd replied.
"Thank you-" Ashlyn trailed off when Mew collapsed, Ashlyn luckily caught the Pokémon in her arms.
Kidd placed her hand on Mew's forehead, "Its sick."
Suddenly the crystal formations started to turn red and crumble and all the crystals at Cameran Palace and all of Rota started to turn red and crumble.
Kidd contacted Banks and asked him what was going on. Banks explained that the tree of beginning had been disturbed too much and now the energy had become unstable, and he also explained that the whole tree would collapse at this rate.
Mew led Kidd, Ashlyn and Alain to a chamber of the Tree of Beginning, which was the heart of the tree. Just then Lucario saw Sir Aaron's gloves on a crystal formation, and with his aura he realized that Sir Aaron's body was also there, but it was crystalized now.
Ashlyn saw a time flower and touched it. Her aura activated the time flower, and the flower showed a hologram of Sir Aaron. It showed that 2,000 years ago Sir Aaron came to the Tree of Beginning and he gave his aura to Mew to save Rota from the war.
"I get it now," Kidd realized, "after sealing Lucario into his staff, he came here to the Tree of Beginning and sacrificed his life to save Rota. He really was a hero."
Ashlyn knew some of the truth about aura. If an aura user gave up his entire aura to another being, then the user would die.
"(Forgive me for doubting you, Aaron.)" Lucario pleaded as he kneeled in front of the crystalized Sir Aaron, ashamed that he didn't believe in him.
At that moment the tree of beginning started to get worse. Lucario realized that Mew needed the aura to save the Tree of Beginning and tried to give him his energy. But he was not as strong as Sir Aaron yet and he got pushed back.
Ashlyn grabbed Sir Aaron's gloves and put them on. "Since I have the same aura as my ancestor, I should be able to do it too." She said, and she started to concentrate of using her aura.
"Wait Ashlyn if you do that you will destroy yourself!" Kidd cried out.
"If I don't do this the Tree of Beginning will die," Ashlyn said, "and so will all of the Pokémon and all of Rota will collapse. I won't let that happen!"
Both Ashlyn and Lucario concentrated on transferring their aura to Mew and then they started straining like Sir Aaron did. Suddenly Lucario shoved Ashlyn out of the way. Alain caught Ashlyn before she could hit the ground.
"Lucario!" Ashlyn shouted.
"(The aura is with me!)" Lucario declared, and then he transferred his entire aura to Mew.
Thanks to Lucario, Mew was able to heal the Tree of Beginning and save all of Rota. Kidd contacted Banks and told him to hide away all their data on the Tree of Beginning. After what had happened, Kidd had decided that the Tree of Beginning should never be disturbed by humans ever again.
But Lucario was now in pain and collapsed in exhaustion; this meant he was now dying after giving up his entire aura. He touched another time flower and this time the time aura showed the last moment of Sir Aaron's life before he died.
"Lucario, forgive me for sealing you away," Sir Aaron pleaded, "If I didn't, you would have followed me and suffered the same fate. I pray that you will be released in a time of peace. I have no regrets; my journey was good, I served a beautiful queen, you and I had many wonderful adventures together and I met Celestia. Celestia, my love, I'm sorry that I will never be able to live a happy life with you now, and I hope you will live happily. Lucario, I never saw you as a servant but as my closest friend; I hope that we will meet again."
And the hologram ended. This made Lucario cry because he understood everything now and he also considered Sir Aaron a friend. "(I failed, Sir Aaron.)" he said tearfully.
"That's not true, Lucario," Ashlyn held Lucario's hand, "You've proved that you're a great aura guardian like Sir Aaron was."
"(Thank you, Ashlyn.)" Lucario thanked her, "(Sir Aaron is waiting for me,)" he said, "(Ashlyn, train your aura and use it for greater good.)"
"I will, Lucario." Ashlyn promised.
"(I'm glad that I was able to find a friend in you, Ashlyn.)" Lucario admitted.
And then Lucario disappeared along with Sir Aaron's crystalized body. This meant that Lucario was now going to the afterlife where Sir Aaron was.
"Goodbye, Lucario." Ashlyn whispered as a tear fell from her eye.

Ashlyn, Alain and Kidd met up with the others and they were happy to know they were all right.
"Where's Lucario?" Max asked.
Ashlyn looked at the sky, "Lucario...Lucario has gone to be with my ancestor in heaven." She answered.
This made Brock, May and Max understand that Lucario was now dead. Alain pulled Ashlyn into his arms. She hugged him as she trembled while tears fell down her cheeks.
Ashlyn knew that the aura would be with her, always.

In the end, the tree of beginning, Rota and Cameran palace was saved. Kidd and the gang went back to the palace and Queen Ilene was happy to see them. In the ballroom, Max noticed that the painting of Sir Aaron, on the side wall, now had Lucario in it. Kidd and the gang told Queen Ilene about Lucario's sacrifice to the Tree of Beginning, and Queen Ilene told them that Lucario's sacrifice will never be forgotten.

After that the gang and Kidd said their goodbyes to Queen Ilene and Jenny and left Rota. Kidd went off to find some other places to research and the gang continued on their journey.

Ashlyn somehow knew that Lucario was finally reunited with Sir Aaron and Celestia in the afterlife, and there they would live a happy life together, forever and never be separated again.
