Chapter 164: Side Story: Happy Thanksgiving!
I know this isn't going to really relate to the very exciting parts of my life, but I'd like to celebrate Thanksgiving with you guys as well. At this time, it was pretty far into the future. Therefore, I will not be mentioning some people at the Thanksgiving party.

"Ah, my dear disciple. Can you call the others? I'd like them to also partake in this celebration." [Vincent]
I forgot to mention we had a whole guild house now. Here was our base of operations.
"Sure." [Solace]
Pulling out a crystal from my |Item Box|, I put some mana into it.
"To all guild members, please report to the guild hall as soon as you can." [Solace]
Today was the celebration of Thanksgiving. Realistically, the concept of Thanksgiving did not exist in Ashtal. Master just wanted to try it.
("I hope they reply quickly.") [Solace]
I got this magic crystal for communication. It was quite the steal (literally).
"Kay~" [Leyhna]
I heard Leyhna's voice echo from the crystal. Soon, more voices replied.
"I'll be right there." [Fina]
"Is there an emergency?" [Nakros]
"No, we're putting up a feast." [Solace]
I then felt a tap on my shoulder.
"Food?" [Leon]
"JESUS!!" [Solace]
I got jumpscared from Leon suddenly appearing behind me.
"How did you get here so fast?!" [Solace]
Leon froze.
"How DID I get here…?" [Leon]
Turns out the girl herself didn't know. Even today, it's a mystery.
"Dear disciple, can you also call Jukhan for me?" [Vincent]
I shuddered hearing that name.
"...Why? You know he scares me." [Solace]
"Do not fret. I will speak with him in another room. Though, we may come out to take a few refreshments." [Vincent]
"...Alright." [Solace]
After much hesitation, I called him.
"Hello?" [Jukhan]
"Hi-" [Solace]
"Hellooo. Damn. How do I work this thing?" [Jukhan]
I could hear shuffling on the other side.
"Leon! Can you show me- Oh, I forgot she's not here." [Jukhan]
Suddenly, the crystal lit up and displayed Jukhan's face. To put it simply, facetime turned on.
"Could it be broken?" [Jukhan]
I then watched him proceed to smack his own crystal.
"...Jukhan. I can see you." [Solace]
"Y-You can?" [Jukhan]
He leaned into the crystal and squinted.
"Why can't I see you? Are you lying to me, brat?" [Jukhan]
I let out a sigh.
"No. It's just… nevermind. Can you come to my guild house right now? My master is inviting you for drinks." [Solace]
"Drinks you say?! Say no more!" [Jukhan]
Then the call cut off.
("I hope he gets lost. Again.") [Solace]
Yes, there was an incident where he got lost once. Leon wanted to show him the guildhouse, but uh.. Yeah. Things happened.
"Hey! I'm here!" [Wilharrow]
Bursting through the front door, my good, but annoying friend came in.
"I'm here too. I brought mead." [Raon]
"We're not of age though." [Solace]
"Rules are meant to be broken." [Raon]
"You mean "limits are meant to be broken"?" [Solace]
"Same thing." [Raon]
Raon became a lot more lax after I hung out with him. His uptightness was more of a lock placed on him by his family.
"Okay, then. Come in guys. Food should be ready. We just need to wait for everyone to arrive." [Solace]
I'm going to skip this part since you guys don't know the rest of the people. Anyways, Jukhan arrived and decided to hang out with Master upstairs. The rest of us sat at the large dining table.
"What's this feast for?" [Raon]
"For Thanksgiving." [Solace]
"Thanksgiving…? What's that?" [Wilharrow]
I wasn't sure how to explain it to them.
"It's kind of like praying. Without the um… praying to a god part." [Solace]
I know. I'm not very good at this,
"Think of it as a day where we feast while being grateful for the things we have this year." [Solace]
Then it started to make sense for the others. …I think.
"An example would be me saying: I am thankful for not dying this year." [Solace]
A few people laughed at that.
"In that case, I am thankful for the friends I've made along the way." [Wilharrow]
"Good one. I'm thankful for Solace pulling me out of nobility." [Raon]
"Bruh." [Solace]
Usually it would be an insult, but it was just an inside joke.
"I'm kidding of course." [Raon]
There were a few chuckles.
"My turn. I'm thankful for the most adorable children I can ever ask for!" [Nakros]
This guy was such a doting parent. Hold on, was that spoilers? Ignore that, then.
"How about you, Fina?" [Solace]
"I… am thankful that there are people to hold me up when I am down, and that they can stand by my side when I am up." [Fina]
There was applause.
"Okay, now I go! I am thankful for being able to beat the crap out of Alt before he became stronger than me!" [Leyhna]
"The hell?" [Solace]
There was much laughter at that. To be more specific, there was someone you guys don't know yet that was practically struggling to breath.
"Leon? Can you please stop stuffing yourself for a sec and chat with us?" [Raon]
She was indeed indulging. In any case, Leon raised a chicken leg (it wasn't actually chicken) and said, and I quote:
"I am thankful for food!" [Leon]
I'm telling you, Leon never changes. We also kind of just kept going until we all said something we were thankful for.
"Now, before we eat, I'd like to make a quick toast." [Solace]
I then raised a drink.
"To Thanksgiving!" [Solace]
Following along, everyone else raised their drinks.
"To Thanksgiving!" [Guests]
