Chapter 175: Independency
Hiro and the rest traveled down the mountain and Hiro led the way to Tanjiro, Yami asked "Dad, where are we going?" Hiro smiled and said "You and Eri are going to be in the Demon Slayer corps, it's different from your Zanpakutos. Demons reign over this world, and you will be part of the organization that specializes in destroying them."
Yami asked the key question "But why?" Hiro smiled and said "You're a natural swordsman, but your swordplay has no substance, no flow, no key points. You might as well be swinging a stick around. This will teach you to use your sword in a way that will make use of your talent. You don't have a style and your Zanpakuto is only in your Shinigami form."
Hiro looked at Yami and continued "Not only that but it's never been broken before. The swords you're used to are made by me and are tough, but the ones you will use from now on won't be. You can't use the sword like you could before or it will break and you will die. Mom and Dad won't be with your for your entire life, someday you will leave like your sister. When that time comes, if you're born with a silver spoon in your mouth, you will die."
He looked forward and added "This is the start of your independancy. You're only 7 now, obviously you've noticed that I treat you different from your sister." Yami was silent and Hiro added "This is because you are different. I love you all the same but she's a girl and you're a boy. She can be protected but you have to protect. Do you understand? You must be strong because nobody will protect you. You have to protect yourself as well as the family that you have in the future."
Yami stayed silent and Hiro looked at Eri smiling as he said "Even Eri is different. She's not as talented in the sword as you, but there are different things she can do. Her Quirk can be used to heal as well as attack. You're all on different paths." Hiro rubbed their heads and smiled "Just because I treat you differently doesn't mean I don't love you."
Eri smiled and Yami stayed quiet, the lower half of his face was covered by the scarf and unreadable. Zerotwo looked at Hiro and said telepathically "Aren't you being a little harsh? He's still a kid." Hiro replied "Not at all, the sooner he realizes this, the better it will be. You know that I'm right, Angel."
Zerotwo didn't reply and looked at Yami, she sighed and said "But..." Hiro smiled and said "But he's your baby?" she didn't answer and Hiro continued "He will not be like Izzy. I'm not giving him anything. He doesn't have special powers or magic. If he wants something, he will have to earn it." she sighed and they continued walking.
A while later
They arrived at a small house on a mountain.
An old man appeared from nowhere and said "Who are you." as he held out a sword, he was a bit confused, they looked like Demons but it was broad daylight. So they couldn't be demons. Hiro smiled and put his hands up saying "I'm looking for Sakonji Urokodaki, my name is Hiro Eien."
Sakonji said "What business do you have here." not relaxing his guard, Hiro smiled and said "I would like to speak with him. Just some trivial matters." Sakonji looked at Hiro and didn't say anything. Hiro kept his smile and Sakonji lowered his sword before saying "Follow me."
Hiro and the rest walked into Sakonji's house and sat down. Sakonji said "Speak." Hiro smiled and said "In regards to your new disciple, Tanjiro Kamado. I have some information as well as a request." Sakonji frowned and Hiro looked around before saying "His family... They are indeed alive."
Hiro continued "I have brought them back to life, but as this would shake him from his training to become a Demon Slayer. I wanted to ask you to make sure he never goes back. They're still on the mountain and I have told them of the situation with the girl, they said that if he does show up back there, they won't greet him. I wanted to just add another layer of protection so that he doesn't meet them."
Sakonji obviously didn't believe him but said anyway "Why?" Hiro smiled and said "I don't want the kid to regress on his path to a Demon Slayer. As you may have noticed, he is indecisive and kind, even to Demons. If he finds out they are alive, he would just go back and abandon his conviction to destroy the Demons and heal his sister. If he doesn't then, he will just believe that I could solve all his problems and depend on me. Either scenario is unfavorable."
Sakonji agreed, but only if it were true that Tanjiro's family was back from the dead, which Sakonji didn't believe. That would make Hiro a god, which Sakonji refused to believe. Why would a God walk among humans and much less, sit in his house.
Nevertheless, he replied "I agree, but excuse me for being rude. Do you have any proof?" Hiro smiled and spread his hands, creating a screen and showing the scene of Hiro resurrecting Tanjiro's family, Sakonji was floored by the literal magic and then the scene and just looked at Hiro in shock.
Well, maybe he is a god?
Sakonji said "Are you-" Hiro cut him off "I'm not a god." Sakonji was startled and Hiro added "I've been asked before. I.. Um... I have a request." he pushed Yami and Eri saying "Do you think it would be possible to give a recommendation for the Final Selection?" Sakonji was stunned and said "It should be... but..." Hiro assured "They don't know styles but their talent is top notch, neither do they have swords capable of killing demons. Basically I'm asking for you to teach them."
Sakonji said "You want me to teach your children?" Hiro nodded and bowed "Please." Sakonji was stunned, mostly because he was not expecting that at all. This man had God-like powers, why would he want him to teach his kids? Sakonji couldn't understand but replied "I can." Hiro smiled and said "Thank you."
He made a bag and gave it to Sakonji with both hands saying "This is my thanks and gift for your kindness." Sakonji said "I can-" Hiro smiled and said "I insist." Sakonji sighed and took the bag, saying "Thank you." Hiro smiled and bowed before saying "Both of you, be good." Yami and Eri nodded and Hiro and Zerotwo smiled before disappearing.
Sakonji looked at the two and said "You won't get special treatment here, if you can't cut it, you will not be allowed to participate in the Final Selection, understand?" Yami and Eri nodded saying "Yes." Sakonji nodded and said "What are your names?" Tami said "Yami." Eri said "Eri." Sakonji nodded and said "Come with me. I'll introduce you two to Tanjiro."
They got up and left with Sakonji.
Hiro and Zerotwo sat on a tree and Zerotwo asked "Are you sure, Darling?" Hiro nodded and said "This is the best course of action. Sure, I could teach him... But he would rely on us more and more. Can't you see that they are both dependent on us?" Zerotwo retorted "But they're just kids! I mean... We should be there for them..."
Hiro said "They might be kids, but that doesn't mean they aren't mature enough to be independent. How long have they been in the Time room, they might not have aged but they have matured beyond their age." he looked at Zerotwo in the eyes and said "Angel. Trust me." she looked at him for a moment before nodding and replying "I do... It's just..."
He smiled softly and held her hand saying "You don't want to be without them, right?" She nodded and Hiro caressed her hand, adding "They'll always be your babies, my love. But the difference is that they will leave one day. Isabella is fine on her own but she was spoiled, I don't want to spoil these two. When they leave us, they'll lead good lives and be safe and happy, even without us protecting them all the time. Don't you want them to be happy?"
She nodded and Hiro smiled "Then trust me, I have a plan for everything. Don't worry." she sighed and smiled "Okay." Hiro kissed her and said softly "I love you and I love them, I'm sorry if this makes you upset..." she leaned into his palm and replied gently "If it's what you think is right, then I have no problems, Darling."
Hiro smiled and hugged her, adding "I promise nothing will ever hurt our family." she smiled and sat in his lap replying "En." he smiled and leaned against the tree, holding her in his lap and watching Yami and Eri go through training.
