It was a sea of sauce with meat snakes, swimming around, but on the lump there were snakes poking out of the sauce, almost bowing their heads to a figure. It was a brown figure, stepping on a head and holding a sword in the air.
There was even sauce dripping from the sword as if it was real blood!
Senzaemon said "What?!" Hiro grinned and explained "The curry is normal but if you look closely, there's nothing normal about this dish. The potatoes-" one judge frowned and cut in "Are absent." Hiro grinned and said "Heh, not so fast, business man. Look closely at the rice."
They looked and the man said in shock "The potatoes were cut to look like rice!?" Hiro grinned and said "This way you don't get uneven ratios and have to open your mouths so wide. Also it enhances the flavor of the rice to a new height!"
The judges took a spoonful and ate it before shaking their heads and saying "This is good but..." they looked at Gin, Hiro laughed and said "You damn fools! Look! Do you think that figure is just for fun?!" They looked at the valiant figure in confusion and Senzaemon gasped "Kid! You couldn't have!"
Hiro grinned "But I did! Do it, old man!" Senzaemon poked the figure with a spoon and it melted into a new sauce! Turning the color of the original sauce from brown to reddish brown! Hiro said "The secret to the dish is the Lord himself! Made using a modified sauce and solidified in a complicated solution!"
Hiro chuckled "Like every good tyrant, the nation can only prosper when he's dead. As is the motif of the dish, which is named 'Tyrant's Ruin'. Bon Appetit~" he stepped back and took out his own, going next to Gin and 'killing the tyrant' before digging in.
Gin ate the food and sighed "You just pull these things out of your ass, dude?" Hiro swallowed and chuckled "Not bad, eh? Literally got the idea just before we started, when we were pulling Jo's leg." Gin scratched his head in frustration and said "Damn it!"
He finished his food and ran off to Fumio, saying "Ma! Hiro bullied me!" Hiro felt his mouth twitch and Zerotwo said "Joichiro bullied me!" Gin said "UwU! We were bullied!" Fumio's eyes twitched and Joichiro pointed at Gin, bursting out laughing and falling off his seat.
Senzaemon looked at his half naked self and gave Hiro a thumbs up. Hiro sighed "If only that 1st seat bastard was here..." he shook his head and sulked away.
Senzaemon chuckled and said "The winner is Hiro Eien! The finals will be in 2 days! The theme is Shokudo! Joichiro Saiba and Hiro Eien are the final participants!"
Everyone started leaving and returning to where they came from.
A while later
Hiro and Joichiro were in the kitchen at the dorm and thinking about what to do. Hiro said "You want to just make an experiment dish?" Joichiro's eyes lit up and he said "Family diner style experimental dish!?" Hiro grinned and said "We have Curry, Ramen, Soba, Udon, Donburi, Grilled fish, sashimi, tempura, miso soup, alcohol, and tea... did I get everything?"
Joichiro nodded and said "I can't think of anything else..." he grinned "So we just have to choose between these?" Hiro chuckled "Yep." Joichiro and Hiro chuckled evilly and Hiro started pulling strange ingredients out of thin air.
They worked through the night until Joichiro got tired and went to sleep.
Hiro went to bed himself and walked into the room to see Zerotwo waiting for him with sleepy eyes, his heart pounded as he looked at her, she yawned and said "Darling... You're back... Mmm.." Hiro immediately ran over and cuddled her, saying "Honey, you didn't have to stay up for me..."
He had a face full of guilt and she smiled "I can't sleep without your warmth anymore... The year and a bit... hardest... time... of my... Zzzzz" Hiro melted and kissed her head, hugging her close to his body.
He neglected her feelings for a while, he felt awful, he was having so much fun and she was with him the whole time! He didn't know if she was tired or not, whether she was having fun or not, if she even liked cooking...
He really felt like a failure, he couldn't believe himself.
He sighed and couldn't fall asleep, over worrying about her.
The next morning
Zerotwo woke up and looked at Hiro's dark circles, she held his cheeks and said "What happened, love?!" Hiro said "Ah! I got worried, I couldn't sleep..." she pouted "Worried over what, my love. If it's about the finals, it's not a big deal..."
Hiro shook his head and held her hands, rubbing them with his own as he said "Do you like being here, love? Do you like cooking? I haven't asked your opinion this whole time, I realized last night and I got worried about you. But you were sleeping and I didn't want to wake you so-"
She pressed a finger on his lips and laughed helplessly, rolling her eyes and smiling sweetly "My little lover, you were worried about me all night?" Hiro nodded his head and she kissed him, falling back on the bed, saying with a giggle "I love it here! I really like cooking, it's so fun! I'm happy that you have friends here and I do too!"
He quickly pouted "But you have to teach me how you made the figure out of sauce!" Hiro's eyes lit up and he laughed happily "Of course! Hahaha..." before knocking out and falling asleep on her chest with a happy and relieved smile.
She smiled warmly and stroked his hair, hugging him and kissing his head, looking at him with endless love in her eyes. If possible, she would like it to be like this for the rest of forever.
