Chapter 18: Chap 18 - Truth and Feelings (1)
Elijah POV
I couldn't believe that this was the 2nd time I saw Lucien cry like this. It felt like a punch that hit deep in my soul at the sight of such pain. It made me remember the dream I had last night. Lucien in a relationship with a weirdo, Kain hurting him, my funeral and him being murdered. This was enough to make me conclude that Lucien had been reborn. Knowing the current mindset Lucien is in, he is most definitely going to gain revenge on Kain and our so called parents as well as hope to repair his relationship with Valentino. I will not let anyone decide my brother's future but instead support him in whatever he wishes. This is my solemn vow.
Lucien was tucked peacefully in Clive's arms. He had fallen asleep due to his huge crying bout. Decker was hugging his arm worriedly. I smiled at this cute image. "Is he okay ?" Clive asked. "Yes, he will be okay ". Clive did not look convinced but he nodded. It made my heart full as the trust he was showing.
Clive handed Lucien over to me. I cradled him gently and carried him to his room. Stepping back into the room brought back good memories. I would spend nights with Lucien reading to him our fairy tales. Some nights would just be us cuddling under the blankets when things got bad. I smiled fondly as I tucked Lucien.
Lucien snuggled further into the pillow. Decker couldn't help but giggle at the sight. I also couldn't help but be amused at the situation. Clive smiled fondly. I smoothed Lucien's hair and we all quietly tiptoed out of his room. Once we were all out, I knew that it was time to tell Clive about the reason behind Lucien's breakdown. "Would you like to join me in my study to talk further ? Decker is also welcome to join us as well".
Clive looked at Decker and both of them began to communicate silently. Decker nodded at Clive who promptly turned to me "We would love to join you. " he said. With that we made our way to my study. Decker looked at the hallways with curiosity and interest. He looked so adorable.
We reached the study and Decker made himself home on the beanbag near the fire along with Cruz (when did the little thing show up ?!). Clive sat on the couch. I made my way to the sideboard and filled two glasses of bourbon and made my way to him. I handed the glass to Clive which is took with grace. and sat down. We sat together in the comfortable silence. "The CEO behind Dream Giver Entertainment is Valentino Ασήμι. They were classmates and best friends until Kain schemed against Valentino by brokering his personal information and pinned the blame on Lucien. Valentino believed Kain and taught that Luc had schemed against him thus leading to both of them falling out despite Lucien claiming that he was not involved". I said. Clive looked angry and began to yell softly" What an idiot. Lucien does not have a mean bone in his body like the Hasapis do. I am disappointed in him for not believing in things with his own eyes". He frowned causing his sapphire eyes to darken.
Seeing the anger directed on Lucien's behalf made me feel happy that Lucien had another protector on his side. The display strengthened my feelings for Clive further but I have to be patient. Clive has just gotten a divorce from Delia on grounds of neglect and adultery. He still needs to recover and focus on Decker. Thinking about it, I drained my glass of bourbon and looked over at Decker. He was looking at the photos on the walls. I could really picture him as my son. I love him already. I looked over to see Clive still looking forlorn over the matter. I put my hand on his arm and gently squeezed it. "Lucien will be fine. He is not fragile. He will be uncomfortable but he will get through." I told him.
Clive's expression eased up quite a bit after hearing my words. He turned to look at me. "I need to get going". I stiffened. I did not expect that from Clive's mouth. Just as I was about to reply, "You and Lucien need to have a chat about what happened and the information that Denver gave you. It is time you need to figure out what Lucien needs and what you need". Clive smiled softly and wrapped his hands around mine. "You both need to talk and get things straightened out. Decker and I will always be here. We are not going anywhere". I felt all the warmth in me flow making me happy. I nodded. Clive smiled and squeezed my hands one last time before letting go. He made his way towards Decker and Cruz. "Time to go sweetlings." Decker instantly pouted.
My heart was hit by an arrow at that moment. He was so adorable. I was almost tempted to take a picture for Lucien. Clive just gave a look that made Decker pout even more. I decided to break the stalemate. "Decker can come tomorrow and spend the day with us. Lucien will be there as well." That perked the little one and he got up to leave holding Cruz when Denver walked in holding something behind his back. I raised my eyebrow in response when he pulled it out with a flourish.
It was a cat bed with the cutest mouse pillow and toys. "I hope Cruz likes it. It is from Master Lucien." he said.
I decided that Lucien is going to be rewarded immensely. Clive took it knowing that it was from the heart and they left the house. It was lonely without them. I headed to Lucien's room to see him sleeping peacefully. I recalled the memories of the dream I had. I will tell him everything.
'I will protect you my brother. You are not alone.'
