Chapter 26: Making a Legend.

As Adrian charged through the Abyss with Seraphine at his side they would slash and smash with giant blades. Every single strand of humanity that moved toward them was sliced apart in what would be a brutal display if they had guts.

Too bad for them as they both had a thing for seeing blood fly. Adrian's eyes were glowing bright red with flames as he launched a storm of fire and darkness from the cursed sword of Artorias.

"Adrian, why are there so many of these?"

She cleaved a giant one in half as he unleashed a stream of fire from his Dragons Breath pyromacy. It was really effective here as the flames caused the Abyss to recoil for a while.

Without the Abyss the humanity spirits were weakened greatly which made them easier to kill.

"They are humanity given a form. The dark soul is the origin of humans meaning you."

She was interested in learning more of the dark soul, but for now, it was back to killing. One could never kill enough in a world like this. She tapped into her soul control and brought out the power of Smough to boost her strength further.

Her veins glowed a murky yellow and her blows caused shock waves of destruction killing droves of the sprites. Adrian nodded in admiration as she managed to use the power of Smough to get even stronger.

Even she seemed happy to have that skill which made him focus more.

"Well done, I did not know you could do that. Well, time for me to show off as well."

He focused on his Black Soul which began to make his veins blacken and his eyes turn entirely black. A miasma started to emerge from his body and the power of his soul made even the abyss recoil at the dark feeling.

Both of his swords were coated in it, which caused it to burn. He swung both blades launching the black flames into the dark killing all of the remaining sprities. Once they were dead he stopped using his soul power.

It took longer to recover than magic, but it was still usable. He breathed out loud as he also made himself shrink when he had control over his soul. He found the shortest height he could go was 7 feet exactly which made him feel small.

He stretched a little and found his weapons to feel the same weight. He glanced at Seraphine and smirked.

"There, they are dead."

She nodded as she walked up to him to check out his body.

"I can see that you know. Still, I expected your soul power to have to do with flames and darkness. You did tell us your soul was pitch black after all. How is the new body?"

He jumped a few times and explained.

"Well, it feels just like me normally. Only that I feel small like this. One good thing is that I can now have sex safely."

"Pff."

She covered her mouth to not spit out her saliva.

"You are already thinking of bedding me?"

Adrian nodded.

"Why would I not when I got a bombshell like you?"

She tilted her head as she did not know what that term meant.

"A what?"

He rolled his eyes and pointed at her.

"Hot, beautiful, sexy, attractive, gorgeous, it means that. Come on, forget my weird words. We got a monster to slay."

She would be lying if she was not interested. Even if she was techniquely dead, she was still interested.

"Fine, however, this conversation is not-"

"Meow."

She stopped talking as she looked around to find where the sound came from.

"Was that a cat?"

He nodded as he looked at the spirit a close to them."

"I think it is trying to get us to follow him. Can you go after it to see what it wants? Maybe it will lead you to Sif."

She looked at him a little confused and disappointed.

"Why? I wanted to fight too."

Adrian motioned to his armor and sword.

"I don't want him to know I am around. When you find him he will be much smaller and scared. Please, I will make it up to you."

She started to follow the cat ghost, but she was doing it slowly.

"Fine, even though I was excited to fight Manus. You are just kicking me away."

He saw how she walked away while kind of moppy. He knew she just wanted to fight as she was a battle junkie like him and his knights. However, he knew that as in the game she was the best for this job.

The Chosen Undead had no past self as they were born long after this time frame.

"Don't be so moppy, you won't regret it."

He walked deeper into the boss room which he knew for a fact Manus was going to be angry. He put on the silver pendant and the broken pendant as he drew both greatswords. Of course, he grew back to his normal height which felt better.

"Round two, Manus."

He drew on his soul energy and boosted his already monstrous power to even higher levels. The miasma was back and from the look of it hungry. Adrian charged forward into the casm of the Abyss and just as he expected Manus was not happy.

When he saw his pendent on Adrian's neck he attacked with his giant mutated hand to take it back He was still missing some fingers as Adrian's greatsword could cauterize wounds with Dragon Fire.

The flames of Amara were not to be underestimated by even the gods of this world. Adrian kicked off the palm and stabbed the Wolf Knight greatsword into the wrist of Manus.

The cursed blade and Miasma caused Manus to roar in agony, but that was just the start of his pain. Adrian weight nearly half a ton and that weight dragged down the blade and opened the arm entirely causing a horrendous wound.

What he found was that his miasma opposed the Abyss like it was his worst foe. It was a perfect counter and Manus never expected this foe to wound him twice and both times were extremely horrendous.

With the arm done for he let go of the Wolf Knight sword and grabbed his Fume Knight blade and held it in a kendo stance.

It lit up in scorching black flames of a dragon and he swung down from the elbow removing it. The disgusting sizzling sound of meat, bone, and corruption erupted from the stump causing Manus great shock, pain, and confusion.

Adrian kicked off the giant arm on the ground which caused Manus untold rage.

"Round two Manus, that was for my brother."

He stabbed Artorias' sword into the gut of Manus, and once it was in there he kicked off the handle before stabing his sword into the chest of Manus. The blade ignited into a storm of fire inside the chest cavity of Manus.

He expected this to end Manus, but it seemed the Father of The Abyss was far from done. He head-butted Adrian launching him at the opposite wall. He roared in pain as he ripped out both swords in his gut throwing them away from Adrian.

Adrian saw something that ticked him off watching. Black slime shot off toward the missing arm and stuck it on the cauterized wound. The Abyss was hard at work at getting rid of the burnt flesh and miasma which allowed it to be reattached.

'Damn Venom copy cat, I want it.'

Once the giant arm was back, Manus still felt it might never heal completely. Then his humanity began to grow even wilder which caused him to grow larger, more grotesque and more monstrous.

Adrian called back swords into his hands as this was a common enchantment in the weapons of Lords and higher. He rested his blade on his shoulder as he saw a pair of black leathery wings emerge from Manus' back. He started to look a bit more draconic, but the chest cavity was still badly burned.

Fire and black smoke left it as the Abyss rushed at the wound to heal it and remove the corruption. Adrian charged back in as he went toward the face which started to grow larger

the neck extended. It began to look more reptilian, but Adrian just saw it as a stronger soul for him. Manus slammed his staff on the ground causing a rain of Abyssal sorceries. The corrupting effect of the Abyss turned into an attack began to rain down, but Adrian activated the Silver Pendent.

All dark sorceries took no effect as the power of the pendant repelled them. However, they were nearly endless and they did not stop. Its a good thing that Adrian could keep using magic in the pendant to protect him.

He rushed at Manus once again ready to take the head off of him. If the chest was nonlethal he will go for the brain if he did have one. Manus did not want to give Adrian a chance to hurt him even more so he attacked first.

He rushed at Adrian who saw Dusk on the ground. Her eyes were half-open as she shivered from the dark of the Abyss, but when she saw his armor she thought he truly was Artorias.

She felt her prayers were answered which caused her to blackout. Adrian felt it was time to use something. He activated the blessing of Khorne which caused his eyes to glow bright red with bloodlust and rage.

Too bad his mind and soul were much stronger which made him stay in perfect control. He wondered if he became a psyker how strong he would be. The red in his eyes was overpowered by his darkness, but not the power it gave.

Thinking of the Warp made him think of a particular demon with a soul that sounded very appetizing.

'I want to eat Scarbrand's soul. I will have to kill him though. For now, Manus will do.'

Adrian roared and rushed at Manus like a Bloodletter with no intention to stop attacking. He rushed at Manus which made Manus begin to rain down Abyss sorceries down at him, but Adrian just charged through them.

He stabbed his sword into the waist of Manus and slashed up. The blade tore through the flesh like a hot knife through butter. It cut the shoulder joint on the arm without any issue cropping that arm.

The sizzling flesh turned bright red and would not heal. He swung, swung again and again with both giant blades in a flurry of blows. Adrian rolled out of the way of a hand slam and jumped on the back of Manus. This made the Abyss progenitor even angrier so he spread his flapped his wings to get Adrian off, but he just stabbed both of his swords into his back.

"DIE YOU FUCK!"

Adrian gripped both swords and ran up causing two giant wounds. The monster roared as pure Abyss goo rushed at Adrian to kill him, but he did not care. He pulled both blades from the flesh and stabbed Artorias' sword into the neck of Manus.

He jumped in the air and slashed through the skull of Manus splitting it in two.

"Your soul is mine."

He lifted his sword and swung it down cutting Manus' corpse in two. Adrian took a deep breath as he saw the large murky black soul of Manus emerge from the body. It meant he was truly dead. He reached out and picked up the large swirling mass of Manus' soul.

He did not eat it yet and stored it in his inventory as he wanted to be positive. He did the same to the body and fell to his knees. He felt the blessing of Khorne was actually much harder to use as he always felt the call to let go into madness. If he was not careful he would end up like all who worship Khorne.

A mad being that would need to kill every few seconds to have even a semblance of sanity. He took a deep breath as he looked at Dusk who was unconscious. He walked toward her and picked her up.

"Come on, you won't die today."

He jumped out of the pit and walked out. He saw Seraphine who was carrying Sif and the great shield of Artorias. The wolf was also unconscious which made Adrian pet him gently.

"Come on, we leave the two of them outside. I think we don't have much longer in this time. Maybe two hours."

Seraphine nodded as she carried the wolf out.

"You will have to say goodbye to your friend Gough them."

Adrian shrunk down and nodded.

"I will try to bring him with us if he doe not wants to it will be his choice."

Once they were out into the open Adrian called down Kalameet who swooped down to get them. Adrian reached out and placed his hand on the dragon's snout.

"Thank you, buddy."

Kalameet lowered his head so both of them could get on his back. He took off toward the fake shrine of Artorias. They would be leaving them there to make him think Artorias was dead. It was a must as Adrian wanted to keep most events the same.

Time travel was always weird so he wished to become immune to paradoxes if he was not already. For now, it was time to meet Gough and prepare to go back to his time.
