Chapter 2: Chapter 2

I get up before my alarm clock irritates me out of my temporary hibernation. I get dressed and pack my bags early. I like to arrive early. I can avoid people staring at me and also reduce my chances of getting bullied. I hate it when people stare at me. It makes me feel like a freak although ironically I don't mind being one. I arrive at half-past six. I normally stay in my dorm when there is no class. It makes me feel isolated which is not so bad. I approach the west side of the university where most of my classes take place. this side tends to be cold even in summer. I still made a joke to myself that the place is hunted by a ghost who dislikes people. I hear learners. I freeze in my tracks. It can't be. I see in the familiar corridors that I have walked down many times packed with learners. I forgot that today was announcement day. All the first-year University students have to attend a meeting to discuss next year's changes. I see Spencer up ahead. I try to imagine what he will do to me if he sees me. Take my backpack and make me try to jump for it. Call me names. I face my head down and carry on walking. He seems distracted. I sigh in relief. Spencer is trying to impress a girl who doesn't like him. He must hate that. I walk straight into the main campus hall.
