Chapter 22: Wild Wrath
Twenty minutes earlier:
* Pant * Pant * Pant * Pant! * A single nineteen-year old Adept stumbled as he rushed into a narrow cave. He was kneeling on the ground, no longer capable of supporting himself. His face got deathly pale as he leaned in the stone wall behind him.
An hour ago, he found accidentally a beast lair and ended up being chased by ten one-star demonic beasts. Fortunately, his main attribute was agility, so he was luckily able to escape their encirclement.
He wanted to look for help from the other participants, however he knew very well he would have to give up all the monster hearts he had.
Now, he only stood quietly and hoping no beasts would find him here. Yet, he didn't know how much longer he would be able to last.
"DAMMIT! It was going so well! How can things change so suddenly!?"
The pain of this youth caused him to grit his teeth. He was extremely depressed.
He observed his surroundings from within the cavern. Squinting his eyes, he looked up towards the sky.
"I don't know how deep into the forest I have gotten. If it goes wrong I will have to try that!"
The darkness in the eyes of this participant turned denser and denser as he heard the steps of several beasts faintly from all directions. Their could track him throughout the smell! Soon, he could see the faint silhouette of over ten beasts.
He reached out his hand towards a bottle filled with blood red fluid. His hand suddenly tighten the grip on the glass bottle which burst into a bloody mist washing over his body.
Intense burning sensation was felt on his entire body as the fluid merged with his body and flesh. The eyes of the youth began to shine, a wild fury wanted to tear through his bloody flesh and escape out of his body!
"Anima Ability: Wild Wrath"
The youth could feel all the pain vanish. Immediately, his monstrous strength burst through his whole body!
"I had only wanted to use this as my last resort. My Anima Ability is too dangerous to use it, but I'm already at an impasse. It was y'all who forced me to do this!"
"When beast blood is absorbed, My Anima Ability will strengthen my body and regeneration ability for a short amount of time." Feeling the immense power within his fists, the youth prepared to head out of the cave when a huge yellow shadow was attracted by the smell of blood.
"3-star bea ..." Before the young man could finish his words, the huge 3-star beast had a devilish gleam in its eyes as it swallowed its entire body after a single bite.
Ba Dum! Ba Dum!
As soon it devoured the participant, the beast feel how dense his food's blood was. It could feel its body getting more and more energy as an amazing pressure seeped out as the beast turned towards the outer part of the forest where the other humans were.

Thomas rushed a towards the source of all the bloody screams and strong smell.
Right at this time, his eyelids his jolted up. An alarming sense of danger jumped in the depths of his mind.
"There's something off. The scent of blood in the air is nine times denser than before! "
A well familiar figure leapt out from within the forest as it landed on the ground with his untidy hair.
It was actually Luis! The friendly Adept Thomas met in the Vallar Gate.
Thomas was dumbstruck… Luis was an exceptional genius having become an adept at 18-year old without the use of drugs. He really admired such person, as not everyone had the system's help like him.
What in the hell could possibly scare such person into looking like he pissed his pants?
"Thomas?!" Only at this moment did Luis notice Thomas confused gauze and he was startled before he became over consumed by joy.
"What's wrong? Do you know what is happening? And where are the others who came with you?" Thomas asked in utter astonishment. He remembered!
"They were eaten!" Luis spread out his limbs and was sprawled on his back. He was lying down, and tears flowed from his eyes non-stop.
"Eaten!? What could possibly be so powerful!?" Only now did he realize the danger he felt could possibly be a lot worse than his imagination.
Luis felt a little strange as he spoke. "A 3-star Demonic Beast on the verge of evolving."
Thomas was frightened. How could such a vicious Demon Beast exist on outer side of the forest? Coming here won't be the same as a death sentence if that were the case?
* ROAR! * An earthshaking roar sounded close by before an explosive pillar of energy ascended into the sky. Several large trees swayed from side to side before they were all blown away!
With all the trees gone, Thomas and Luis could clearly see the monster with a height of four meters thick yellow fur. At the same time the beast also spotted them and showed a hungry expression.
Even the beast could feel it as on the verge of evolving, if he could just keep eating a little more it would then evolve into a powerful 1-star Elite Beast.
