As Kuro said, he requested Ayame, if she can stay inside within the 50m area of their house, without making any interaction from anyone. It was all for 'protection' he thought necessary. Although in from of his eyes, what he saw was Ayame 'sincerely' agreeing with his request, he never had a thought of possibility that she may have been just showing it in face that she agree but behind that face she doesn't want to.
Now that he thought it, it was truly ridiculous to lock his own daughter for thousand years. He ruined her childhood, and filled her memory with same boring scenery, with few friends.
To make it worse, he didn't even try to find out the reason why she can't become stronger, and just thought of it as something that would disappear as time passed—but what happened? Even after a thousand years, she was only still as strong as herself, a thousand and hundred years ago.
All he did, all he thought good was, give a love. Until someone pointed it out, he never gave her the 'attention' she required and here she is, now. More happy than what she seemed in their house. Soujin even felt guilty for trying to take her happiness indirectly by killing Kuro.
Suddenly, Soujin kneeled from the spot. "Please. I, Nakiri Soujin, from the bottom of my heart, as a single parent, beg you. Please make her happy, to the point of forgetting her past, making up for the part where I parent, ruined."
