Chapter 2: "Are you a foreigner?"
Equiline woke up in a lonely bed, she was already accustomed to Jacay leaving at dawn or sometimes just waiting for her to fall asleep and then leaving. When she went out to the streets, few people already went on them. They chatted, curious Equiline approached the girls of her age, who more than anything envied her for her beauty and her strange pink hair.
It was something surprising what they were talking about, something shocking and paralyzing for Equiline, the general's son was getting married.
"What are you saying?"
"Oh, come on Equiline, did you really think that he was never going to marry?" Said the biggest girl among them, Masay, with some mockery.
"I… but him, I have to go with him."
"Equiline, we know about him and you," spoke Zenza with pity.
"What?" Equiline was completely paralyzed, her heart was broken.
"Please don't ruin their marriage. Don't be so selfish."
Equiline was enraged when she heard what Masay had said, she had never felt that feeling, she had never felt full of pain and anger until that day. She couldn't stand it and ran despite the screams of the two girls who wanted to stop her. But before being able to reach Jacay's house, almost without being able to avoid it, she collided with someone, falling backwards.
"I'm so sorry," she apologized trying to not make her voice sound broken. As she stood up, Equiline saw a completely unknown person, with brown skin, long dark brown hair, and intense green eyes. He didn't seem to be from around there, he was dressed elegant, with a suit almost resembling nobility.
"Are you okey?"
"Oh, yes. I'm sorry to have bothered you in this way," she spoke nervously without seeing him in the eyes.
"If I may ask you, what is your name?" Equiline looked at him strangely while he just smiled at her.
"Equiline."
"It's a very beautiful name" Equiline looked away from him feeling strange.
"Are you a foreigner?" She almost whispered
"We can say it."
"Why did you come here?"
"I came on the pure whim of a lady."
"It's good to know that there are still men who fulfill the wish of their wife," the young man just laughed leaving her confused.
"This whimsical woman I talked about is unfortunately my sister."
"I offer you an apology."
"Don't worry, but if it's not a fault could I ask where you were going so fast?" Equiline was speechless, how to explain that her heart had been broken.
"Nothing special. And if you allow me, I must go."
Equiline didn't give him time if he wanted to reply when she was already running again to face whatever was waiting for her at Jacay's house. On the other hand, the boy was intrigued and although her physique was something peculiar without saying that she was extremely beautiful, there was something inside her that was completely fascinated.
"Sir, your sister is waiting for you."
"Tell her I'm going" he smiles, "I have to do something first."
