Chapter 5: 2 - Twisted and Drama-Like

彡☆彡

Rem Harries, 19 years old, an open homosexual, the "Trash" of Entertainment Industry. A reckless, brainless, and a complete douchebag who had offended many people he shouldn't have, and it leads to his miserable end.

When you hear or read this brief description, you can already feel the dislike for him sprouting inside of you; however, you can also feel pity for him because in the end, he did all of those things just to survive, and by surviving—he lost his life on it too.

A miserable person with a miserable life dictated by fate the moment he was born.

But, who exactly is Rem Harries?

Based on what Elyx remembered from the dream (recollection of memories), he was actually the son of a well-off businessman. Rem is the youngest son in the Harries family, and he had two older brothers. The eldest brother, was an adopted child, while the second eldest was an former illegitimate son, who's now the legitimate son as his mother claimed the throne as the "legal wife" of Rem's father.

Rem's mother is his father's ex-legal wife, making Rem the legitimate heir of Harries family for many years. It didn't last, though. Rem's father has never been a loyal husband, and not long after Rem was born, the truth about his father's infidelity came to light. His father's mistress actually had a son with his father—older than Rem for a few years.

It has become a fierce battle between Rem's mother, versus Rem's father and his mistress. It soon worn out Rem's mother to the point that she lost sanity and slowly succumbed to her demise. Rem was only nine years old at that time.

Rem watched this through his naive eyes, and gradually understood his position in this family the moment his father married his mistress, and now the legal matriarch of Harries Family.

When Rem aged sixteen years old, his father banished him away from the family, removed him from their family records. His second brother became the legitimate son, and he, the real heir, was pushed away like a trash everyone saw him as.

Rem, pushed into the battlefield, without knowledge of how the real world works, tried to survive in a way he knows, like a fish brought out from water—the world was never really kind for anyone. If not because Aashray found him, he would have died in some alley, and no one would probably care until his body began to rot and release a bad smell.

Aashray accepted him with open arms, without question, or any condition. Aashray quoted, "𝙄'𝙢 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙗𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙛𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙙. 𝘼𝙪𝙣𝙩 𝙍𝙝𝙚𝙖 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙝𝙖𝙪𝙣𝙩 𝙢𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙛 𝙄 𝙙𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙧𝙢 𝙩𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪."

Rem, very grateful to his friend, decided that he should never depend on Aashray—he has to move back right into his feet and do some action to survive without Aashray's help.

That's when he met a person he thought would be his salvation, however, like a certain line in a certain song, this person was actually a nightmare dressed like a daydream. Instead of the promised success and free happy life—this man pushed Rem into the Entertainment Industry, milked him dry until everything went to shit for the poor young man's life.

A paradise he would dream of was actually a disguised inferno. Soon enough, Rem was pushed into a situation where he ended up selling himself.

That's when his life became hell itself.

Who's the man? Elyx doesn't know. None of the memories he had recovered include the man's information. No name, his face was blurry, his voice is blurry—as if Rem erased him in his memory and there's nothing left but a phantom of his existence. Rem must've hated him to the point of erasing him in his mind.

Elyx has never been a fan of family drama, albeit acting in some shows with this theme, but he never liked it personally. But now, thinking of how twisted Rem's family history is, he was very surprised to know that some of the unbelievable stories would actually happen in true life too.

He should've known better.

Elyx somehow wanted to punch Rem's father. He could have resolved it in a way no one would suffer—though it sounds far-fetched, there must be a way right? There's many ways he could've handled it, and no son of his would've suffered somehow. But, he's a son of b*tch so of course he wouldn't consider Rem's future at all, and would kick away people he wanted to kick.

Heartless.

Speaking of family, Elyx is feeling extremely distraught now. He just discovered that he died and somehow transmigrated into Rem's body, though he can't confirm it at the moment since he has no connection to the outside world at all.

As if fate is taking his thoughts as a cue, a couple of nurses somehow walked past his room, whispering in a way that Rem's can barely hear.

"𝘈𝘩! 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘣𝘦! 𝘔𝘺 𝘧𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦! 𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘥𝘰 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘪𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨?"

"𝘐 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵, 𝘣𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘯 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘸𝘴, 𝘢𝘭𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘺 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴, 𝘰𝘳𝘱𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘥. 𝘚𝘪𝘨𝘩, 𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨—𝘐 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘣𝘰𝘺𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦."

"𝘈𝘩! 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢 𝘴𝘢𝘥 𝘧𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘢 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘱𝘭𝘦."

"𝘐 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵."

Elyx tried not to let his emotions dominate his whole system, but when he heard the word lover, as if someone turned on the faucet of his eyes, his tears began to fall. Right at this moment, it had finally sunk in to him.

He really did die. It's not a joke, not a prank, and certainly not a dream.

This is all real, and it's happening to him now.

𝘊𝘢𝘭𝘮 𝘥𝘰𝘸𝘯, 𝘌𝘭𝘺𝘹. 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘯𝘰𝘸. 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬.

His chest kept its tightness despite Elyx's self-hypnotism. He slowly sat up and stared at the IV drip connected to his boney hands and the slow movements of the curtains due to the warm breeze.

When can he leave this place? He badly wants to see his lover, his family, his good friends. How are they doing right now?

He badly wanted to know about his family's situation.

Elyx sank into another deep thought, and did not notice Aashray entering the door with obscure eyes, staring straight towards him.

"What are you thinking of?" He jeered with a sneer, not looking straight towards Elyx. He was holding a basket of different fruits and placed it at the small table.

"...Nothing you should be worrying about." Elyx replied after a few seconds. Aashray flinched before turning away.

"I can never be at ease when it comes to you, your head is always full of trouble. Be thankful I haven't dumped you into the trash can yet,"

If not because of the tightness of his chest, he would probably laugh and tease Aashray to death. He roamed his eyes around his mediocre room, then light muttered, "If you care for me that much, why place me in a mediocre room?"

It was as if someone pushed the switch because the temperature dropped several times lower, Aashray halted his action and slowly turned around to face Elyx.

𝘖𝘰𝘱𝘴, Elyx grimaced internally.

"You're asking why? Then I'll tell you, bastard. Some people want you dead, and I place you here to protect that little trashy life of yours. Are you satisfied, hmm?"

Elyx suddenly shivered.
