Chapter 163: Beliefs

"W-why not?" Egon asked, brows furrowing at Ace who still held the same smile towards the boy. "I promise that I will be useful." 

"Oh, I know." Ace said, smiling innocently at the boy. He will be a great asset but the best he will be at is as a human shield and not even a person that uses defence magic, but a literal meat shield. 

It is a little bit sad but … I really do not want to have people around me that will end up dying in the end. It is better if he is able to go and live his life without bothering with us. 

"I promise that I am good at-" 

"Not interested." Ace said, slowly backing away to the carriage. "You should live your life happily, kid. And not worry about things like this." 

"But, I am older than you-" 

"Shhhh~." Ace placed a hand to his lips, smiling at the boy. "You wanted to be a farmer, right?"
