Chapter 28: C 28. Meeting With The Director
From my side vision, I saw when Peter was about to move, but he stopped and glared at me.
The other doctor was startled as he quickly helped his colleague to sit back and dragged him away from me.
He helped with stopping the bleeding nose. No one asks me why I did it, but they just stay away from me.
The screen was carrying my body picture. It tells the story of my organs and how they operate.
I saw a section on the screen that tells the situation of my brain.
The situation was simple, my behaviour is being morphed temporarily every time I have a dream.
All sorts of emotional upheavals affected me, and why, reasoning was thrown to the back of my mind.
There are a set of questions and answers that state why I ignore some people while also attracted to others at the same time.
The good news is, whatever happens to me is temporary for now. And also my brain cells are perfectly fine without any mutation or damage.
At the end of their investigation, they allowed me to leave with Peter. It was after we were far away when peter spoke,
"You shouldn't have punched him. He is one of the leading doctors as well as a scientist in this facility. And he is one of the people that reform the organization.
Back then, this facility was experimenting without governing rules or limitations until he came along." He was speaking, but I was making a fist.
I turned around and punched him with all my strength, thinking he would be reeling in pain on the floor after the fist landed.
I was wrong. He easily sidestepped, avoiding my hand. He gently grabs my hand and bent it over to my back.
To me, the move was swift, without error. He restrained me so easily that I felt ashamed of myself.
I was good with Judo and some fighting styles I learned when I was growing up.
And in this facility, I never initiated to fight anyone, but the second person that I attacked was holding me like a kid.
He uses no ability from my point of view. Even though I know some of them are Ability users. Yet he held me like a chicken.
I quickly calmed down.
He released me and continued, saying, "He was afraid that the amount of time you spent in your dreams is forcefully harming your brain. That is why he came to check if they are crossing the rule boundary."
"Tell me that after I calm down," I said before I walked away.
All these attendants were well-trained fighters, well versed in different fighting styles. That means they were trained to subdue people like us.
And that is why there are so many of them that two of them accompany each of us everywhere at any time to suppress us.
I return to my room in anger and frustration. I don't even know what is bothering me.
Laying on the bed my stomach growl, earlier in the morning I have not eaten anything but some spoon of whatever Amina forced on me.
Then I decided to go back to eat something. It's about time lunch was served.
Coming out I saw my neighbour with a tab tapping. "Are you going to class too?"
I shake my head before leaving him. Perhaps he remembered I was not well today, so he left me be.
But turning a corner, I saw the wall lit up with some words saying I should immediately report to class now.
Argh, I didn't complain, I walked to class. So many people are walking beside me.
I don't know why, but it seems something big is happening.
A few minutes I was sitting in the chair. The class was full because there were other students with us today.
We didn't wait for long when two people came inside. One was the doctor I gladly punched, while the other was his assistant.
Some students were glad to see.
"Hello, students."
"Hello, Sir." Almost everyone shouted in unison, but one of the overexcited people said, "We are happy to have you here, Director."
"Thank you." He said.
The assistant walked forward and started the usual formal introduction. Benjamin Joshua was the name of the director.
And he is one of the founding members of this facility. He is here to talk to us about what was going on with us and see if there was anything we wanted.
So, that is why everyone was happy. Including the adults among us. From then a section of a series of questions and answers commence.
Most of the questions are based on whether we will leave this place or not. The other most asked question was, is there anything the facility wants us to do after all these.
Then some occasional questions asked by bold individuals among us which was, is the facility for the good of us and human or not, and the facility is not doing anything against human morals apart from kidnapping people?
There are other questions and stupid question that were asked, but the above were the ones asked a lot but in a different form.
Director Joshua assured everyone that we will leave this place in due time. He even claimed that some are leaving already.
He was humble enough to say that at first when this facility was created, he didn't care about what kind of experiment they do.
But unfortunately for him, his daughter turns out to be one of the ability users. And for that, he rethinks of his morality and tries to change.
He said he believed in karma. What he did might be done to him, or will come to hunt him back.
With that, he tries to reform things within the facility. But that doesn't mean he will abandon all the greatness of seeking knowledge.
Thus, he created a facility where subjects are not sheep to be slaughtered or deeply maltreated.
And he said, If there is anything they want from us is to cooperate with the research, of both body and mind.
