Chapter 48: A love spell?

When Luis came back, he was bringing a bowl of cold water and an ointment for my knuckles. We sat on the long settee inside the room while he wiped my knuckles with a damped towel. As he did it in silence, I kept glancing at him constantly. 

"You don't have to do this," I said, breaking the silence and he cast me a side-eye. "I mean, it will be alright. There's no need to do this."

Luis looked at me momentarily before he resumed dabbing the towel on my knuckles. "Just because you don't know how to take care of yourself, doesn't mean I shouldn't."

I pursed my lips, biting my lower lip to suppress the smile that was tempting to resurface on my face. How could he say such words with such a straight face? And yet, it was better that way.

"Grand Duke..."

"Luis," he corrected with a quick glance. "Didn't we agree to call each other's first name?"
