Chapter 19: The last Gym

The most shocked in the group was Misty, how did the gym become so strong?

The trio tried to enter the gym, but was immediately faced with the countless stares from the people standing in line.

They were finally able to enter the gym after Daisy came out to take them in.

Vidal who was leading the team till now slowed down, he was walking behind the trio and there was even a gap between them.

When they entered the gym, its condition wasn't good.

There were holes in the walls and roof, the floor was in ruins and the pool was nowhere to be seen.

"What happened here?" Ash asked.

"This all happened due to Pokemon battles," Daisy shook her head.

Bang!

Another hole was created on the wall, the shot came from outside.

They rush to the back of the gym.

"Pidgeotto is unable to battle. The winner is Dewgong," Lily announced.

"Next trainer, please come forward," Violet was responsible for managing incoming trainers.

Another trainer entered and took out Nidoking.

The Nidoking charged at Dewgong with Megahorn, Dewgong countered with Horn drill. Dewgong instantly followed by creating three ice chunks and releasing towards Nidoking.

"Nidoking is unable to battle, the winner is Dewgong."

"That Dewgong is very strong," Brock commented.

"Daisy, where did you get that Dewgong?" Misty asked.

"It is our old Seel, it evolved after training." Daisy answered with a sigh.

"So you are finally serious about gym now," Misty said.

"What? No, I like to perform more. And I didn't train that Dewgong." Daisy said, "Let's forget about that, so what you guys are doing here?"

"I wanted to visit the gym and let my Horsea play in the pool. And let me introduce to Ash brother," Misty turned around to find no one.

"Where did he go?" they were confused.

"Did you say Ash brother?" Daisy eyes flashed, and Lily and Violet also came towards them forgetting the match.

Misty nodded, "You look like… you already know him." Misty saw change in the expression of Daisy.

"Yes, we have met him before. Where is he?" Now Daisy, Lily and Violet started to look around.

"Is something wrong Daisy?" Misty asked.

"Something… Everything is wrong. And that's because of Ash brother," Daisy turned towards Ash, "Now tell me where is he."

The trio felt the three sisters might punch them if they don't answer quickly, "He was with us until we reach the gym. After that I don't know…" Ash was the one to answer.

"It looks like he already knew something like this would happen here. So, he may have left us and went somewhere else," Brock concluded.

"So exactly, what happened?" Misty asked.

Daisy goes from the arrival of Vidal to training the Dewgong.

"And suddenly people from Pokemon league showed up saying they got complains of Cerulean gym distributing badges without battles. And we used Dewgong to prove ourselves innocent of such complains. After that we have to constantly fight against trainers without rest."

"We haven't performed in any shows from then on."

The trio was dumbfounded.

"This means Vidal's Pokemon must be strong too right..." Ash got excited hearing Daisy explanation.

"That we don't know. We never battle with him. We just gave him the badge as we were busy with the show." Daisy said.

"I want to battle Dewgong too." Ash said and entered the arena.

Vidal was in Pokecenter of Cerulean city, the situation of the gym has exceeded his expectation.

He made a call to Professor Oak to deliver some Pokemons, as well as to ask about some important matter.

"So, Professor, did you get the parcel I sent?"

Professor Oak nodded, "Yes, this was the biggest findings in team shadow in two years."

"So what do you think about the team shadow?"

"The documents only show the hierarchy inside the Shadow. Zeph and Vega are lower rank officers. The upper echelon leader Marlon is like ghost, there is no data on him. And the leader named Ivory; she was supposed to be a professor from Kalos region. She has some records of working in Alola region too."

"After that Ivory mysteriously disappeared two years ago."

"Finally, there is still no data about the leader of team shadow, and their motive."

Vidal nodded and ended the call after some talk.

"Nurse Joy emergency," A boy carrying a Pikachu ran in the Pokecenter followed by his companions.

Behind them were three sensational sisters and behind them was Dewgong.

'The priority to the Pikachu and Ash was the most important thing in this world,' Vidal sighed.

The first one to notice Vidal was Dewgong.

"Dew…gong.." "Deww… gong" "Dewgong."

Dewgong came running towards Vidal, the three sensational sisters noticed Dewgong behavior and followed its eyes.

"You…. You are here…" Daisy screamed, "Take this Dewgong with you…"

Vidal smiled awkwardly, "Since Misty is here… She can handle it properly right." Vidal looked at Misty.

Misty got no problem with that, as she was the main leader of the gym and the strength of the Pokemon is very strong.

The three sisters turned to Misty.

"Well, I have no problem with that." Misty answered.

"Misty, do you think it is that easy? Did you think the power Dewgong showed today was its full power? How many battles do you think it took to turn the Gym into ruins?" The three sisters asked their question one by one.

"One," they said together.

"In one battle the gym was turned into ruins." Daisy took a long breath, "And a Pokemon like that cannot be controlled easily without the presence of one who trained it."

Misty was dumbfounded, she glanced at Vidal who was scratching his cheeks like he didn't want to talk about it at all.

"Don't worry about it. I am sure I can handle it," Misty said again.

With that thing sorted out, Ash returned with Pikachu.

"Vidal, did you really train that Dewgong?"

Vidal nodded; Vidal looked at the Dewgong who was looking at Vidal, as if asking for something.

Vidal shook his head, Dewgong probably wanted rematch with Starmie and Alakazam.

He can also see the typical Ash 'I want to battle with you' vibes from his body.

"Ash I am leaving ahead of you, I have some matters to deal with," Vidal said, "I will be waiting you back home."

Ash didn't stop him.

Vidal left the Pokecenter and called Dragonite out.

"Let's go Dragonite; my last gym battle is waiting at Viridian city."

"I hope I am not too late."

Reaching in front of the Viridian Gym, a familiar car was parked.

Vidal quickly made his way inside the Gym.

"Hoo.. Hooo.. Gary… Gary, he is our man, if he can't beat him no one can." Cheers was heard.

"I am the viridian Gym leader. Who are you?" A person sitting in chair said.

"I am Gary Oak, the best Pokemon trainer in Pallet."

"Just in time," Vidal said panting.

Vidal had to knock the guards out using Gengar to enter the Gym, but he wasn't late at least.

"Gary if you don't mind, I want to battle him first," said Vidal.

"Brother. If you want, than I have no problem," Gary came back towards the cheering girls.

"And who might you be," the gym leader asked again.

"Like he said, I am the brother of Gary. I am also from Pallet."

"Then I accept you challenge. I choose Golem," the gym leader made his first choice.

Vidal shook his head, "I am not here to fight your Pokemons, bring him out."

The gym leader didn't say a thing.

"I don't quite understand what you are talking about."

"You don't have to act so ignorant…. Giovanni, the gym leader of Viridian city," Vidal smiled.

Giovanni was silent again.

"Don't you need to test the power of THAT Pokemon. I am more than happy to help you with that."

Giovanni face finally changed.

"Who are you?"

"I already told you, didn't I?"

"The special Pokemon you are trying to experiment on. Is it behind that door?"

"Mewtwo, I am here to fight that Pokemon."

"Haaa… Ha... Interesting. Interesting. If you are already aware of it, I don't have problem of testing it in battles against you," Giovanni voice echoed in the gym.

Finally the door in front of Vidal opened and a Pokemon clad in some sort of armor came out.

"Giovanni, I won't be going by the rules while fighting this Pokemon. Everyone come out."

Starmie, Alakazam, Arcanine, Gengar and Dragonite all were ready to take on a strong Pokemon.

"Gary, and girls, it is better to get back. Things are going to be a little extreme in here."
