Chapter 7: Chapter 7 - The Gods
Heaven had been waiting for this day to come ever since he spread the knowledge for the God Realm.
Finally, an immortal was about to ascend to godhood.
Sensing the disturbance in the world's law in the Human Realm, Heaven immediately focuses his consciousness over there.
There he saw a human immortal on a mountain preparing to break through to the God Stage. Even though the human race was weak individually, their numbers made up for that weakness. And their progress was quite fast compared to the other races.
A million years hadn't even passed since Heaven spread the knowledge about the God Realm and yet, a human immortal was ascending long before the time Heaven expected. Regardless, it doesn't matter.
The human immortal, Huo Shen, was trying his best to resist the tribulation from the world while Heaven watches all of this quietly.
Breakthroughs to the God Stage required one to communicate with Heaven. Heaven spread this knowledge together with the name of the realms.
The tribulations took days before it finally ends. And after the tribulation ended, Heaven put a mark on Huo Shen, and Heaven's Path slowly manifested above him.
Huo Shen will be assessed while going through Heaven's Path.
The assessment was not a test. Instead, the purpose of Heaven's Path was to filter the different kinds of laws that were not suitable for the immortal.
And while Heaven was watching, Huo Shen reaches the end of the path and was bestowed the seed of a Divine Law. Fire law seed.
After that, Huo Shen, who obtained the seed of law, finally ascended to the God Realm.
Since this was the first god that had just ascended, Heaven's consciousness was focused on him. Observing his every action in this realm where there were no other gods, humans, demons, or spirits.
For Huo Shen, ever since the knowledge about the God Realm was spread, he had been wanting to ascend. Ascending to the God Realm would let him live for as long as Heaven.
After Huo Shen ascended, he landed in the central region of the continent.
With no prior knowledge other than the name of this realm, Huo Shen doesn't even know if there were other creatures in this realm. He could only slowly feel his way around this area in case of dangerous creatures around.
After finding out there were none, he went to a nearby mountain and carves an abode. He immediately went to meditate for several years to stabilize his godhood to have better control over the law of fire.
After he stabilized it, Huo Shen went on to explore the entire God Realm.
He first started his journey towards the southern region where he could feel a massive amount of fire laws.
Years passed after Huo Shen started his journey.
As he traveled towards the south, he saw various creatures scampering around the god realm's wilderness.
He marveled at these creatures who exist even before him in this realm. It was appropriate to call them divine creatures.
Then he was attacked. The first time it happened, he was surprised to find out that they were stronger than him. Luckily, when he was attacked, it was only one creature since they generally travel alone. Hence he could still handle it, but it would be dangerous if there were more than one. He could only run away.
Fortunately, whenever he killed these creatures, he could obtain their core which contains laws. And these laws could improve his law. Unfortunately, he could only use the cores that contain the law of fire. Even then, only stronger creatures had already formed their core, while the weaker ones haven't.
Huo Shen kept on slaying these creatures whenever he met one on his journey. However, he stopped killing the weaker ones and focused on the ones who had already formed their cores to improve his laws.
As he was nearing the center of the southern region, the creatures' strength increased the further he went in.
Fortunately, after years of improving his law of fire, he could keep up his strength with these creatures and he finally reached his peak.
Heaven, who had been watching since the beginning, provides the knowledge about the next stage.
When the seed of law reached its peak, transform the seed to become the basis of the sub-laws.
Huo Shen quickly finds a nearby mountain and carves a place so he could break through.
And it was relatively easy with no lightning tribulation. And just a few months later, Huo Shen advances peacefully to the High God stage.
Afterward, Huo Shen resumed his journey toward the center of the southern region. And with his breakthrough, his speed increased.
Screech!
Just as he was nearing the center of the southern region, he heard the cries of a bird. When he focuses his gaze on the horizon, a massive bird covered in flames flies in circles around a volcanic mountain.
The Vermilion Bird.
Instantly, the name of the flaming bird popped into his head.
A Divine Beast.
Looking at the massive flaming bird in the sky filled Huo Shen with unprecedented anxiety. The bird wasn't something he could handle. Hence, he hurriedly darts back towards the central region where he first arrived. Thankfully the bird didn't chase him.
The trip back toward the central region of the god realm didn't take a year with his speed as a High God.
Going back into his dwelling, he calmed down the little fear inside his heart and cultivated for several more years in seclusion. Fortunately, he already procured the cores from the creatures he killed. Hence he could use them to attain the sub-laws he needed.
More years passed as he cultivates in seclusion.
When more gods ascended to the God Realm, Huo Shen went to greet them. The majority of them were humans and they formed a faction with Huo Shen as their leader. The demon gods and spirit gods had to scurry away to another area.
Since the immortals ascended to the God Realm, Heaven spends a large amount of his focus on the gods.
Then, after thousands of years since the gods ascended, Huo Shen, the first god to ascend, advanced to the Godking stage, becoming the Godking of Fire.
Just moments after he advances, the Godking of Fire felt a calling from somewhere and immediately went to search for the source.
And then...
The Godking of Fire disappeared from the eyes of the gods.
