Chapter 30: Spirit Progenitor's Grand Ambition

Yellow could only request for White to convey her message to Green and hoped that she would come out and interrupt Undine from her transformation.

White looked around and shouted.

"Green! Yellow said that you have to prevent her from using her racial talent!"

Green heard her shout thus came out of her hiding spot, she took several explosive daggers from her back pocket and aimed them towards the transforming Undine.

She decisively threw all of it to Undine, while Undine also felt the rapidly approaching threat but she could not even move to evade much less defend herself.

She could only grit her teeth in hate, she planned to receive the explosive daggers head-on while her body continued to morph.

This is one of the fatal flaws and weaknesses of the spirit race's racial talent, they needed time to transform.

A spirit would most likely suffer varying backlashes if they were to suffer an attack while in the midst of their transformation.

These backlashes also depend on the severity of the damage they had received while morphing, some would feel weakness for a whole month at most.

There are also some cases of spirit stage degeneration from those who suffered heavy attacks.

The most severe bloodline backlash recorded in their spirit history was the most tragic death by bloodline explosion.

The body of a spirit absorbed all of the energy into their body and when they returned to their normal state, their bodies would bloat up, expand, and explode from the foreign energies that the spirit had absorbed.

Undine did not know of the severity of the bloodline backlash that she would receive from the numerous explosive daggers.

She only hoped that it wouldn't be too severe, she could accept a period of weakness and stage degeneration but she could not accept death.

She just came out of her seal and wanted to revive her race so how could she possibly accept herself from dying when she hadn't even managed to step out to the world?

At this moment, Undine had regretted and questioned herself as to why had she arbitrarily used her racial talent when there are three enemies around her.

She had completely forgotten the weakness of her racial talent due to her being sealed for so long, she could only silently curse herself for not thinking about her situation carefully.

The three girls except for the still chanting Yellow eagerly looked at the fast-approaching explosive daggers.

The daggers were extremely threatening that carried a terrifying momentum, in the blink of an eye, the daggers hit Undine.

The sound of flesh being pierced continuously resounded and their eyes brightly shone with anticipation.

Yellow and Green simultaneously thought to themselves.

'It's coming!'

As expected, a terrifying explosion occurred, the earth shook intensely resulting in dust and smoke filling up their surroundings.

The girls were unbothered by the hindrance of their visions as they were all protected by a barrier that White had made.

Then Yellow suddenly opened her eyes, the air around her violently vibrated as the mana energies around were being sucked in her hands.

She aimed her left index finger towards the smoke-filled area and shouted.

Annihilating Ray!

Her finger shone with a bright dark light that seemed to be accumulating until it gradually expanded to the size of a small ping-pong ball.

Then White and Green heard an extremely low-pitched sound out of nowhere, the small ping-pong ball turned into a black blur of light as it ferociously flew out of Yellow's finger.

The black ping-pong ball was extremely fast as they could only see a long trail of black light in its wake.

The Annihilating Ray spell was in the form of a small ping-pong ball but due to its extremely fast launching speed, it left a trail of a black linear line which accurately correlates to its name 'Annihilating Ray'.

The black ray of light flew extremely fast that they could even see the tearing of space fabrics as it rapidly pierced through the air.

The tearing did not remain for too long as it was being rapidly repaired by the laws of the world.

In the blink of an eye, the black light penetrated the dust-filled area completely blowing away the smoke obstructing their visions.

Now that the smoke was cleared away, they could now finally see the state of Undine after she suffered the attacks of various explosions.

There they saw the unharmed Undine silently standing at a small crater, her blue battle dress was charred black by the explosion, but her skin remained as flawless as if she had not suffered an explosion earlier.

They were quite surprised by her body's durability but they gave her a gloating sneer as if victory was in their hands.

Then a beam of black light accurately pierced Undine's forehead and exited at the back of her head, heading deep inside the dark cave.

There they saw a small hole that had appeared on Undine's forehead, the three of them instantly felt elated after they saw this.

But somehow, they couldn't see any blood coming out of her head, the hole remained but it did not produce any brain matters nor was there silver blood being produced.

It was as if the wound on her forehead was just a mere illusion.

Green was the one who spoke first after they saw Undine's strange condition, her voice sounded confused by what was happening.

"This can't be right. Where is the silver blood? Why is there no blood leaking out of her forehead?"

White did not reply to her question, she just wore a cautious and solemn expression while she observed Undine.

Out of the 3 Blood Extremities, White could be called the most proficient in reading life forces.

She had the ability to accurately detect the life force within a certain radius around her thus she would be able to instantly tell if a person was pretending to be dead or not.

And at this moment, all she could see was an extremely intense and vigorous blue pillar of light firmly surrounding the 'dead' Undine.

Her life force was extremely imposing and strong, she did not look dead at all. Thus, she cautioned the other two girls and solemnly said.

"Careful, she's not dead yet. She might have succeeded on her Spirit Transformation!"

White rapidly retreated while saying those words, she did not care about the well-being of her teammates at all, she knew for herself that they could handle themselves well.

Yellow silently approved of White's action of retreating to safety.

As the one who had fired the Annihilating Ray spell off, the moment her spell had touched Undine she instantly knew that it did not manage to do single damage to her at all.

She focused her entire attention on Undine, her senses were on full alert, and was extremely cautious of what would Undine do next.

Green could only hatefully glare at Undine while retreating back to the tall and dark trees.

Meanwhile, Undine was relishing the great strength that she had gained after her Spirit Transformation.

When the explosive daggers had hit her earlier, she instantly felt despair at that time but then it turned into a pleasant surprise because she did not felt any pain from the daggers at all!

This only means that she had successfully finished the process of her Spirit Transformation.

Knowing was one thing but being careful was another, she did not want to repeat her careless mistake earlier thus she did not immediately eject the daggers out of her body.

She had to let them feel and see that she was successfully hit by their attacks so that she would be able to catch them off guard.

She was a revered Ancient Spirit in her peak so her Spirit Transformation was also vastly different than other spirits, be it in effects or appearance.

Other spirits would appear blurry and unrecognizable the moment they used their racial talent, but she was different.

Not only could she maintain her normal human appearance, but she was also immune to most mind and spell attacks, unlike the other lower-ranked spirits.

In fact, the blurry appearances of the spirits in their spirit transformation were considered as a flaw by their progenitor.

Their Progenitor wanted for the spirits to retain their original appearance and Undine had the perfected body that their progenitor had dreamed of.

The Spirit Progenitor had dreamed for their spirit race to flourish, and the only thing he could think about at that time was on how to enhance their racial talent further.

His ambition was really great, he dreamed to enhance their talent to become in a semi-permanent state where a spirit would look like their normal selves but could morph in and out of their spirit state at the same time as long as a spirit had enough energy to spare that is.

He had also wanted to shorten or even completely eliminate the time required to transform as short as possible.

If he had really succeeded on this modification, the spirit race would've become the strongest race that had the ability to rule over the myriad races.

I usually don't proofread my written chapters and would just insert various ideas in my paragraphs, so there might be some of those ideas that goes unnoticed by my eyes and were unintentionally included in the uploaded chapter...
