Chapter 4: CHAPTER 3:DEVILS HISTORY
RISER POV
"Urgh. Damn. I sleep when reading these books." I mutter as I forcefully wake up myself when I notice I am in my dreamland.
There are a ton of books around me and I just read 3 of them, all of them composed of Devils History up to date.
"Damn. I know that in terms of education if Riser had to take any written test, his score is going to be the one that barely passes. Now my head is full of Devils history that tells the story of how Lucifer descended into the Underworld bringing a book with him and with help of his wife Lilith he created the devil society that is composed of 72 devil families with different crests." I need to remember those facts since there will be a Q&A test, or I can buy myself out from that test but still, I did not want to become a fool if someone out of nowhere ask those questions.
"But still the first book mostly boasts about Lucifer's power and his creativeness in creating the Underworld. Lucifer and his right-hand men become the pillar of the Underworld as they are deemed to be the leaders of this world. Beelzebub, Leviathan, and Asmodeus, 3 are said to be the greatest devil besides Lucifer himself.
" Each of those has its signature family ability. Lucifer's ability is his darkness that opposes the Big Guy Holy Light as both elements are to be said can negate each other. It also can suck things like a black hole. Kinda like Darkness Fruit from One Piece. 250 pages and it is all about Lucifer's background. It even tells the story of he has his harem with his descendants and rules another part of the city with some trying to overthrow their father but end up having their corpses being displayed to anyone who tried to overthrow him.
Tyrant ruler.Truly an act like a Devil King. Where he Goethe devils will prostrate to him with him will get many gifts from any devil family to form a kind relationship with him. If successful the devil family will be able to expand their business and maybe get a high ranking position in the Devil Government.
Devil Government or rankings, in the past it is based on strength with the top of the ranking being Lucifer himself. He welcomed the challenges from other devils in a life-death battle situation.
100 devils are brave to fight against him as they know how powerful and the advantages of becoming the rule of the Underworld. The thought of being able to order anyone with the highest authority made them not think rationally to challenge the First Devil himself.
100 enemies have come to challenge him with the hope able to becoming get the throne from Lucifer but they all died.
The first enemy gets one-shot by a punch by Lucifer, the second gets pierced by his razor-sharp hand, the next one gets beheaded, and later on, Lucifer has some devils team up against him but the group dies with their body parts are scattered on the battlefield.
All the corpses are buried in a land where Lucifer held as it now becomes a Corpse Valley that is dedicated to the corpses that died by Lucifer's hand.
"Fuck. Lucifer lives up to his name. I am really glad that I live in a peaceful era. My ancestor also suffers the same fate as his darkness becomes tendrils that rip him from the inside. That is Chainsaw Man Level Gore dude." I close my eyes as I try to comprehend all the context in those 3 books.
"As I thought even though the DxD is a world genre content; Ecchi, Harem, Action one must know how truly dangerous this world is especially those Humans that have Sacred Gears.
Big G decide to give those human Sacred Gears. But with Ajuka's most prized creations in the devil's history, Evil Pieces that let someone reincarnate anyone to a devil that is willing to, those humans are being hunted by the devils.
They know how strong those Sacred Gear wielders are. Even one Sacred Gear that can double anything can change the course of battle.
Every heir and heiress received Evil Pieces when they are 10 years old, an age where they are deemed worthy to have a peerage set.
Everyone has different motives when they receive that chess pieces. Some will try to create a harem and just enjoy their life, a life that most horny devils want to have. Especially the one that is just lazy around spending their devil family money.
But if you want to do that, you need to have the strength to back it up. Devils are not kind to each other, especially the ones that try to raise their family to a Duke or Marquis like Phenex, Sitri of Gremory.
It is not weird if sometimes the devils net will show 2 devils' families will to war with each other in a Rating Game where stakes such as a business that are mostly composed of Mana Ore or gold from their family business can be gained from the opponent they defeated after they signed in a term that has been approved by the higher-ups of Devil Society.
The Phenex has also once in a while been challenged by another devil house that wanted a share of their Phenex Tear sells but most got defeated.
" Hmm. Rating Game. I can use that to increase my strength. Maybe I can issue a Rating Game where I will give them a ton of Mana Ore. Those will lure in some devils that I can be used to home my fighting experience." I take a mental note of that.
After all, gaining experiences during a real battle is more good than fighting an illusional enemy.
"I can also create my fame. As of right now, my fame is mostly due to my family, Phenex. I want to make a name for myself other than being called Playboy, Prick and Scumbag. I want to be called the strongest in the Rating Game. Damn it. The Emperor has the cheating ability that can negate my clan signature ability.
I still got a long way to become stronger than the Champion of Rating Game much less Red Hair Lucifer.
That guy is a hax, no his mother, sister and son are. Power of Destruction, one that is said can destroy anything that the attack touches.
Especially the Crimson Satan that is said to master the ability to another level.
Forget about him. Unlike other devils, I have my advantage coming from my Otaku mind and my system that is still not activated.
There are many hurdles. I need to take in the scope of another devil family. They may look kind from the outside but on the inside who knows.
" At my current level, I cannot handle Sairaorg at all. No that is if the previous Riser himself fights him. But if it is me, I am very sure I can hold off against him.
It sounds stupid and unbelievable but you need to know that Sairaorg Bael did not inherit the Bael signature magic ability, the Power of Destruction.
This is why het gets kicked out by Lord Bael along with his mother. But that still never stop him to become strong as his mother trained him to use his body. So he did that even after his mother has fallen ill.
"Tch. He did not get Power of Destruction but instead, he manages to unlock Touki that can strengthen his physical traits a lot and a Sacred Gear, not a regular one rather Nemean Lion. A fair trade I guess. He didn't have POD but was instead able to use Sacred Gear to increase the power level made him be regarded as the strongest among his peer."
"Onii-sama." My little sister voice interrupted my inner thoughts as I look at her.
"Mother asks you to be ready right now. She also said to dress up very nicely since we will be visiting the House of Gremory." Ravel informs me as I nod my head.
"Fine. I will go upstairs and wear my fabulous suit. I am sure my attire with my face will be able to make Gremory Heiress be trance by my appearance." I said to Ravel who just snort hearing that.
"Whatever Riser-nii sama. Just do not let us wait for you." Ravel said as I walk upstairs.
"Hmm. He looks different but at the same time has an arrogant attitude. But still," Ravel looks at the books on the table as she did not believe her brother that is lazy to study Devil History now are reading those books that she never imagined he will read them.
If she read them, it is fine but if Riser is the one who read them, her parent will be so shocked.
"His demeanour too. It is not that bad compared to him days ago." She decides to tell this her parent.
Maybe her brother has gone insane. Or maybe her brother has changed a little bit.
"Urgh. I look dashing." I said while looking at my appearance as I wear myself a red tuxedo suit with a black tie that has the Phenex crest on it.
"I am done and prepared to meet my supposed fiancee that I am sure hated me very badly. Heh, not the first time ladies hate me. I remember calling some of my female friends " one who takes advantage of my kindness and women who are not grateful for my kindness" when they only invited me to have me paid for movie tickets and popcorn with dinner only. Can you imagine 3 women's expenses are being afforded by me with me did not being able to be in a relationship with any one of them. They even dared to have the audacity to call me a damn Fatty Otaku, which they called every time very loudly in public which is a bad memory that I want to forget. I hope you females get dumped by your boyfriend that you loved so much when their beloved boyfriend did not have the currency to pay for their girl's bags while I can.
