Chapter 11: Chapter 11: First fight
(Law's Pov)
"They're still out of my range. Bepo get us closer." I ordered.
"On it Captain!" Bepo said.
*BoBoBoom* a bunch of explosions could be heard as a volley of cannonballs started heading toward our approaching ship.
" Shit! we're going to get hit!" Mikoto exclaimed.
" I got it." I said.
[Room]
The usual transparent sphere was immediately formed around me, with a 300 meters radius. (From 50 to 300 in 2 years)
[Takt]
I pointed my finger toward the enemy ship, making the cannonballs stop midair and launch back toward it. Since their ship wasn't in my 'Room' most of the cannonballs ended up missing their target.
But the ones who did make contact did some pretty big damage, one managed to break the mainmast in half and another struck the deck lighting their ship on fire.
Hanzo snatched one of his modified arrows from his quiver and started aiming toward the sky.
We were currently 400 meters away from their ship. " Permission to shoot Captain?"
A bloodthirsty grin spread on my face as I spoke, "Give them hell."
*tunk*
The arrow sailed at incredible speed toward the enemy ship, and just as he was about to reach it.
[Rain arrow]
The arrowhead exploded into hundreds of smaller arrows that started raining on the marines ship.
"AAAH" "Ugh" "Mommy!" The screams of the falling soldiers could be heard. The lucky ones managed to get killed instantly while unfortunate ones had arrows pierce their skin and leave them incapacitated.
" You little twerps!" An angry shout could be heard in the distance.
*thud*thud*
Two marine lifeless bodies were dropped showing a marine captain that has apparently used his own soldiers as a meat shield.
"I'll kill you!" The clearly angered Marine captain shouted.
As soon as he finished speaking their ship was finally in range of my room.
"Really?" I asked while smiling at him.
Grabbing onto both, Mikoto and Snow.
[Shambles]
I quickly teleported us on the enemy ship.
" Let's see you try!" I said with a bloodthirsty grin.
The surviving marines seeing us appear out of nowhere stood up while groaning and holding into their injuries.
There were around 30 marine soldiers left and a burly-looking man twice their height with a captain cape at their lead.
Mikoto and Snow eagerly rushed at the 30 marines, Mikoto dodging and punching any marine that was at arm's length. The breaking of bones followed by each of his strikes was sickening.
While Snow rushed from target to target, slashing them open with his claws and biting their head off.
A marine grunt aimed his gun at Snow's head and was about to shoot, but was immediately stopped by an incoming arrow that went straight through his neck. Making him choke on a pool of his own blood.
Hanzo kept notching arrow after arrow covering for anyone that was about to get sneaked up on.
The marine Captain stood before me, his focused gaze not leaving mine. Before taking his cape off, revealing a heavy-looking two-handed Warhammer strapped on his back.
" My name is Sai The Crusher!" The bulky man shouted as he took the heavy two-handed weapon in his hands.
"I'm Law, future pirate king." I said as I unsheathed the small blade on my waist.
Sai started running toward me, before jumping high enough for him to appear like some type of dot in the sky. The sun at his back blinding me and hiding his approaching figure.
*HAAAAA* The burly captain shouted while bringing his Hammer down in my direction.
Seeing as it would be hard for him to evade in the sky. I decided to throw my sword toward his head.
The marine captain quickly dodged to the side letting my sword sail next to his head.
A sadistic grin spread on his face as he increased the strength he had put in bringing down his hammer. Thinking I was now defenceless without a weapon.
I waited patiently and just as Sai hammer was about to hit me.
[Shambles]
I swapped places with the sword I had previously thrown at him. Leaving behind the burly captain who brought down his hammer with such force on the deck. That his hammer ended up getting stuck in it.
[Counter Shock]
I said, as I brought my hand forward and placed them on the Captain's unprotected back.
An electric current left my hands and struck the captain with such force that smoke started coming out of his open mouth.
"AAAAAGHHH!" The captain kept shouting in pain till he fell on his front unmoving.
Looking around I spotted Mikoto sitting on a stack of marines bodies calmly smoking a cigarette, while Snow was eating one of the marines he had killed.
Looking at the dead captain's feet, I quickly grabbed my small sword.
" We're done here, let's get back to the ship." I said.
[Shambles] x3
I quickly teleported us back on our ship.
[Scan]
I said while swiping my sword in front of me. Effectively scanning everything in the enemy ship.
I managed to find a couple of berries but nothing too impressive, a couple of thousands at most and some jewelry.
Making a grabbing motion with my hand, everything of interest appeared at my feet on the deck of our ship.
"Woah, how much is in there!" Bepo asked while looking at the money.
" Around 300'000 berries, bring it inside we'll split the loot later." I said.
" Hai Captain!" Bepo shouted as he got to work.
Walking to the front of the ship, I looked at the sea that seemed to spread indefinitely. "How long till we reach the next island?" I asked.
" Two days Law-sama!" Bepo shouted.
" Good! I'll be in the kitchen if you need me. I haven't finished my meal yet." I said while running toward the kitchen. Using my devil fruit always made me hungry. I finally understood why devil fruit users in One Piece seemed to have a bottomless stomach.
