Chapter 2: My House!!
Lucca was hoping it would be one of those times where the giant shadow ended up being a little creature blocking the sun from high up and when he looked up he realized that he was right! What was making the shadow was indeed a tiny little thing. It was a small golden monkey looking curiously at him sitting high up on .... The shoulder .... Of a giant golden ape. The huge creature was at least twice the size of the little castle and it was looking curiously at the little obsidian home as it's golden hair that covered his body shone in the sunlight.
'gulp' Lucca couldn't help but swallow when saw the huge creature as he started to pray quietly to himself hoping that the large creature would either go away or at least that the little castle's defense could hold against him.
The giant slowly moved closer looking curiously at the little black castle. Its large and heavy feet made indentations on the ground as he moved while it used his large hands at the end of his very long arms for balance which made him look closer to an orangutan than a gorilla. On its shoulder was the little monkey holding on to the giant's golden fur as it also looked at the little castle curiously.
'Maybe they aren't aggressive? Were they just taking a nice family walk?' Lucca's eyes shined at the possibility.
The big golden primate stared in confusion at the black object surrounded by walls that had appeared in his territory overnight. He had also noticed the little human there too which made him even more curious. When was the last time he saw a human? 100 years ago? 200? He remembered that those poor little things tried to invade the forest and were beaten black and blue before running away with their tails between their legs.
He had also seen human houses before as well but never one like this. These walls weren't just black, they were so dark that it didn't reflect any light whatsoever. It was beautiful like the night sky but without any stars. The big ape reached out and put his hand on the cold hard surface of the wall and felt the cool temperature that it had even on this hot summer day and his eyes instantly lit up.
`What a good thing! Even in this heat it still stays nice and cool!´ The large creature thought to itself with shining eyes.
He decided he was going to take it back with him and put it in his nest while completely ignoring the little human. Their strength mostly came from numbers anyways with some very few exceptions so he treated this single kid as he would an ant by the side of the road.
Slowly he reached out to grab the little castle but just as his hands were going over the wall a blue shield suddenly showed itself and pushed the ape's hand away with some force.
Startled, the large creature jumped back and screeched loudly while the little monkey did his best to hold on. A few minutes later when it finally calmed down he walked back up to the little black castle while frowning looking extremely unhappy and when it finally reached it he slowly raised both his arms above the little castle while his muscles started to bulge.
'Oh no!' Lucca thought to himself.
"Wait!!" He screamed out loud but was completely ignored.
'I just bought this house!' Lucca thought as his eyes became watery.
Then in a split second the giants powerful arms came down smashing into the shield like two wrecking balls
BOOM!!!
The giant ape was sent flying backwards smashing into the forest completely destroying a bunch of thick trees while the little monkey that was on its shoulder had fallen off in front of the black gates as the large ape was thrown back and was rubbing it's butt with some tears in its eyes.
Lucca looked up from the ground in surprise after being thrown back from the shockwave and saw a large crack on the blue shield over the castle that was slowly healing.
"What an amazing little castle!!" He was happy it was able to hold on but unfortunately he also knew it wouldn't hold up to another attack like that. The crack was indeed healing but it was extremely slow, if it was smashed one more time it will definitely break.
'This large ape only used one attack to deal this much damage to the shield so he must be at least a Tier 3 beast!'
Lucca then suddenly got an idea and without any hesitation he quickly opened the gate before running straight to the little monkey on the ground who froze as soon as it noticed the human coming towards him.
The giant ape that was slowly leaning up from the ground while rubbing his head had just opened his eyes when he saw the human running toward his child.
"ROOAARR!" He let out a powerful roar trying to warn the human but it had only stopped him for a split second before Lucca started moving towards the little monkey once again.
'HE DARES?!' The ape fuming in anger as he jumped up off the ground and started to dash towards them. He sped up even faster when he saw that the human stopped right in front of the little monkey and just when he thought the little thing was going to be taken hostage a large yellow object appeared out of thin air in front of the human before it turned around fled back into the small castle gates at a surprising speed.
Even though he found it strange, the big ape moved quickly towards the little guy before putting his hand down in front for him so it could climb back up but surprisingly the little monkey didn't move from his spot. It's eyes were dazed fixated on the yellow object that had materialized in front of him. The big ape frowned and grabbed the little monkey before putting it on his shoulder away from the strange object the human had left on the ground.
He had never seen anything like it before but for some odd reason he really wanted to grab it. It was as if his instincts were urging him. The large creature walked closer and sniffed the strange thing and very faint aroma tickled his nostrils. He felt his mouth quickly start to water to the point that large drops of drool started to fall onto the ground making a small puddle.
Wiping his mouth with his long arm the large ape got a little closer before touching it with his fingers but nothing happened. The ape couldn't fight it anymore and suddenly grabbed the strange thing which fit perfectly in his palm. The ape held up the fruit curiously while looking at it from side to side.
'I've never seen such a thing before, but why do I feel so familiar with it??' He thought while scratching the back of his head.
As he realized it was not dangerous the ape threw all caution to the wind and let his body do what it wanted to do. His hands moved as if on instinct and started to slowly peel the giant yellow fruit with movements so fluid it looked completely natural, opening it peel by peel and every time he pulled one down the aroma would get stronger and stronger. While both his hands were busy the thick saliva started to drip faster and faster onto the ground.
When the strange fruit was completely peeled the ape slowly put it up to his mouth and carefully bit the tip. He was very careful not to take too big of a bite just in case it might be harmful but also because he wanted it to last for as long as possible. The Sharp teeth the size of an arm easily sliced off a part off the top and then he began to slowly chew and move it around his mouth taking in all of the taste. The giant's eyes started to water unconsciously, he had just realized that there was something missing in his life and he had finally found it.
Lucca watched the comical sight of a giant golden ape tearing up as he slowly ate the large banana piece by piece with a smile on his face. There was also the little monkey drooling on his shoulder looking at the yellow fruit without even blinking .
'Thank god that worked! That giant banana is a Spiritual Fruit that cost me 15 HC! That means 13 of these were almost as much as one of those huge mansions!! Spending so much for just a banana... If it dont work I might as well just fed myself to him.' Lucca thought as he could feel his intestines turn green '15 HC for one banana? this is straight up robbery! Is there a number I can call to send in my complaints??´
The big ape only finished half of the banana before he stopped unwillingly. Using the peels he tied them together carefully closing it back up again to save for later. It was now very Interested in Lucca, that the little human could get him this godly food, a food made just for him! No, a food made for all apes! And the most surprising thing was that this yellow fruit was full of mana!
'Good stuff! Good Stuff!' The giant though as he held up the closed up half of the banana towards the sun.
The Golden ape then once again went up to the walls of the little obsidian castle but this time he didn't look aggressive. By using motions with his hands he tried to to communicate with the little human and though Lucca was a little slow the ape himself was very smart and they were eventually able to understand each other.
He told Lucca that he would allow him to stay in his territory but he would have to pay him in bananas. At first he wanted one a day but Lucca quickly refused, he explained how hard it was to get them so in the end they made a deal of one banana per month and not only could he stay here but the golden ape would protect his little castle as well. The large ape was very confused on how it went from one banana a day to once a month but he still agreed while scratching his head. Lucca however was mentally patting himself on his back. Fortunately he was very used to bargaining for things back on earth and had it almost down to a science.
´Wait a minute ..... Is this what paying tax feels like?.... This kind of sucks doesn't it?´ He could feel his heart bleeding but at least he now had a little more protection in this world. Lucca now had to quickly find a way to make more money or he might get thrown out when he could no longer afford to live there!
