Chapter 8: Raging Fire
Once Usopp reached the rendezvous point, He see Luffy and Dadan standing together. 'Shit Dadan won't like it if we're involved in this.'
"Luffy did you follow the plan." Usopp asked, to which Luffy nodded and glanced at Dadan.
"What do you mean plan brat!" Dadan yelled. Once Usopp explained the plan to her and what he heard from Bluejam, she immediately said, "We've got to go get Ace and get out of here. If we try to involve ourselves in this the entire country will treat us as public enemy #1."
"Agreed." Usopp said.
"I still want to help as many people as we can." Luffy said to which I nodded, and Dadan sighed at Luffy's innocence.
With all that done I full transformed and grabbed Dadan while Luffy rode my back. 'This fruit must have made my physique stronger. I've even been stronger outside of transformations. I'll research this later.' Usopp decided this as he flew in the direction Ace went.
Once they reached the gates to the inner city they noticed they were barring anyone from entry. This made Usopp and Dadan panic because the burning wouldn't be far now.
True to their thoughts, a horn sounded and small explosions happened all across the Grey Terminal. Usopp had to land because of the tailwind the explosions were creating, he would crash if he persisted to fly.
With everything burning, and now having to run instead of fly, Usopp's mind was running a mile a minute thinking of a new plan but was stopped by sword clashes.
He dragged Luffy and Dadan towards it. When they spotted Ace they almost cried out but Usopp knew better to give up the element of surprise, especially when they were out numbered. A plan founds its way in Usopps head and he grabbed Luffy's ear, much to his displeasure, and stretched over to whisper the plan.
Ace was looking worse for wear as 6 pirate bodies lie at his feet. Bluejam and 4 of his cronies stared at Ace and laughed, "Even of that shit king fucked us over, we will still take you down with us." They all laughed at this. Then out of no where Luffy's foot was on the only gunmans face. Luffy smiled and said, "Ace we are here to help you!" Luffy yelled then jumped off of the gunmans face as he laid unconscious.
The other pirates had no idea how he'd gotten their, but an idea popped in Ace's head and he looked up and saw Usopp perched on the roof of a nearby collapsed building, grinning while looking like an eagle sent a shiver down Ace's spine.
Before anyone noticed Ace's peculiarities, Usopp sped at blinding speeds and clawed the throat of another pirate. He didn't have his pipe and he hadn't practiced shooting with his devil fruit enough to not potentially miss. So he decided to test his physique while transformed.
Bluejam took a step back at a large long nosed eagle killing on of his men until he remembered a long nosed brat that was with the other kids. "Don't panic he has a devil fruit." Just as he finished saying that Dadan shot one more person dead. It was now 4 on 2 and we surrounded them.
Ace yelled at Bluejam, "Surrender and we won't kill you!"
Bluejam laughed, "You think that we are surrounded then you should look behind you."
After saying that they looked around and thirty men had guns trained on us. 'Damn they got us!' Usopp thought. 'We're gonna have to hope for a miracle.' They put there hands up and began beating us down they didn't resist but Ace kept trying to protect his brothers. Eventually one of the pirates dragged Ace off and continued beating Usopp and Luffy, making him watch.
Ace begged bluejam to stop while Usopp was on the verge of consciousness. When the last punch lands on Usopp's body, an invisible wave shot out all around. Usopp froze because he knew what this was. He looked over to Ace and saw that he wasn't trying to do this on purpose, just like he wasn't on his island.
One by one the pirates fell until just Usopp, who was barely conscious while on the floor, Ace, who was teetering himself on his feet, and Bluejam, who was fear struck by the power Ace showed. Ace charged at Bluejam but he couldn't get an edge on him and was slowly being be beaten back. Luckily, before any damage happened to Ace the rest of the mountain bandits showed up and killed Bluejam from behind. Who said mountain bandits fought fair they would respond when asked why they do that.
They dragged the boys and Dadan back to the wooden shack, and Usopp asked what happened. Apparently someone saved everyone before the fire started and evacuated them, and then he cut a path in the flames so people could rescue the stragglers.
Usopp went back to sleep after getting the rundown and silently thanked the mysterious guy, while completely unknown to everyone was that the man in questions silently watched a straw hat wearing kid with a smile on his face.
3 days later the boys had recovered enough and they started searching for Sabo again, but when they reached a cliff they saw a small boat with ASLU on it.
"SABO!!" They yelled in unison.
Sabo heard and turned and laughed while waving back. "LOOKS LIKE IM HEADED OUT TO SEA FIRST GUYS! I'LL SEE YOU GUYS AT THE GRAND LINE!"
When Sabo turned back a giant ship was near his to his left and shot towards him.
*BANG*
"SABO"
The ship burst into flames and he tried to put them out to no avail when the second shot exploded the ship.
The boys froze looking at the burning wreckage. Usopp's eyes slotted into eagle eyes while he looked over and saw who it was. 'FUCK' he yelled in his mind suppressing his sobs. He saw a man wearing white with a bubble on his head. 'Of course its a fucking world noble, I can't let Luffy and Ace know this or they will try to kill them.' Usopp thought before transforming back into normal without alerting the crying boys.
The boys ran back and told Dadan what happened and she locked them up for a couple days so they wouldn't do anything stupid. She told them what that person was and what would happen and they didn't care. So Dadan made sure to keep them away until he was gone.
It wasn't lost on any of the boys, well, maybe Luffy, what they would be up against had they done that and they thanked Dadan. They walked back to the cliff were they saw it happen and Ace spoke up, "Usopp what did he look like."
Usopp froze he looked at Ace and knew he was dead serious. "I don't-
"DON'T LIE TO ME RIGHT NOW USOPP!" Ace yelled in fury.
Usopp looked down and with tears in his eyes he looked back at Ace, "I can't."
Ace walked up to Usopp and punched him to the ground and beat him repeatedly, "You won't even let me get revenge on the bastard!" Ace yelled.
"I can't Ace!" He yelled back.
Luffy watched this go on while crying for Sabo. He didn't know why Usopp wouldn't tell him, but he knew it was for old reason.
This went on for 10 minutes with Usopp almost passing out. "Why!" Ace yelled about to knock Usopp out.
"BECAUSE I CAN'T LOSE TWO BROTHERS!" Usopp yelled with broken teeth and blood flying out of his mouth.
Ace stopped looking at Usopp for him to continue, which he did, "If you go after that man you will be the enemy of the world! I've snuck and read what they are capable of when I was on Gramps ship! They are all monsters and they have the marines under their feet. If you were to even touch him, they will use everything to destroy you."
Ace was shocked about the information on the Celestial Dragons, he had heard about it from Dadan but he thought she was exaggerating. But if even Gramps has to follow these people then he knew the seriousness of it.
They stood their in silence. After an uncomfortable few minutes Ace whispered something.
"What?" Usop questioned not hearing him.
"Promise me!" Ace said loudly biting back his tears. "Once any of us are strong enough to take him down you will tell us who it is!"
Usopp looked at Ace and smiled, so did Luffy. They walked over to the tree and grabbed the same bottle of sake they shared with Sabo. The boys looked at it sadly. They poured each other a shot and clinked them together.
With that, the boys lives would change forever. For better or worse only the future could tell!
