Chapter 10: Roronoa Zoro
A/n: Decided to do a double chapter to get me too 15000 words. Enjoy :)
Arriving at Shells Town, Luffy and Usopp split up. Usopp went to drop off Alvida, while Luffy and Koby went to ask around town about Zoro.
Usopp arrived at the marine base and looked over to see a green haired man tied to a cross. Usopp shook his head and let it be, he didn't want to save him until he could confirm his personality.
When he walked in he told the marine at the desk, "I'm here for 'Iron Mace Alvida's" bounty, can you help me."
The marine was shocked that someone picked up a relatively high bounty for them but got over it quickly and went to get his captain. When he came back, large man with an axe for a hand was leading the previous marine and sat down at the counter.
Once Usopp saw him he frozen this was the man that killed the rest of the villagers on his island. He was immediately furious and left before he could cause Luffy any trouble. Axe-Hand Morgan was confused by the angry man that left but didn't say anything, if he didn't have to pay some dirty bounty hunter he wouldn't.
Usopp was fuming walking and looking for Luffy. He finally found him standing by a bar next to a blond haired pansy he had punched. The pansy left shouting about how his dad would here about thisOnce Luffy saw how furious Usopp was he waved bye to the bar owner and her daughter and brought Usopp to a secluded area with Koby.
"Usopp calm down and tell me what happened." Luffy said trying to get Usopp to calm down enough to explain what's got him so mad.
"They let him off Luffy!" Usopp yelled.
"Who?" Luffy and Koby asked at the same time.
"The marine captain who was supposed to help my island when it was raided by pirates! He killed all the survivors and he is still a marine captain!" Usopp said as calmly as he could manage while sitting down.
"WHAT?!?" Koby asked incredulously.
Luffy was immediately mad and asked, "Then why is he still alive?"
"I know that you want to rescue the pirate hunter, so I held back from causing trouble before I told you and you were ready." Usopp explained.
"Can someone please tell me what's going on?!" Koby yelled.
Usopp took a deep breath and told him of what happened in his childhood. Koby was shaken, he couldn't believe that someone like this could be a marine. "Do you know the worst part Koby? I was rescued by Marine Hero Garp when I set sail off the island, and he called Fleet Admiral Sengoku who assured me that he would take care of it!"
Koby was even more disappointed, he sighed and thought for a minute, "So what now?"
Luffy smiled dangerously and said, "Now? Now we do what we do best."
Usopp grinned ferociously and stood up, "So we rescuing the bounty hunter or not?"
"That's the plan, we will take care of him you take care of the marine captain." Luffy said.
"Sounds good." Usopp said while transforming and flying over the city.
"This isn't gonna end well..." Koby said with a sigh.
Usopp arrived on top of the marine headquarters just in time to see a statue of Axe-Hand Morgan being raised up on the roof of the building by about a dozen marines.
'It'd be rude to not announce your arrival I suppose.' Usopp thought and snickered. He pulled out a rifle that he has strapped on his back and takes aim. This rifle was collected by Usopp in Goa Kingdom from the Bluejam pirates after the fire. Usopp has worked on it for years and knows it like the back of his hand just like his pistol. He even made some modifications for it to be stronger and pierce stone.
Right when the statue was almost risen to its feet, Usopp lines up the crosshairs with the ugly face of the marine captain and pulls the trigger.
*BANG*
The statue's head explode and the marines were so shocked they dropped it down the side of the building shattering it.
The marines looked at where the shot came from and saw a young long-nosed man standing on the opposite roof top.
"Well, well, looks like someone's not getting paid for their work." Usopp said with a grin.
Morgan was furious and yelled while pointing his axe hand at the man, "Kill that bounty hunter!"
Usopp dropped his rifle to the ground and grabbed his pistol and opened fire killing 3 before they could even reach his building. Once they did, Usopp transformed and took to the air laughing and said, "I've got a new move that I've been wanting to test out, and it looks like some guinea pigs have just arrived."
Usopp spread wide wings wide and yelled out, "FEATHER DANCE!" What followed was a rain of sharp feathers that cut down the 9 soldiers, not even a chance to beg for forgiveness. 'Well it's good for common mobs but for stronger opponents it doesn't have enough power.' Usopp thought seeing Morgan get up with just some light scratches. Morgan had his face behind his Ace hand and his body was naturally more tough than common soldiers due to marine training.
"You dare kill the men of the great Axe-Hand Morgan!" Morgan yelled.
"They got off lucky compared to what is coming your way." Usopp said coldly.
"Why are you doing this?" Morgan asked curiously. This young man had been acting like they knew each other since he saw him this morning. All the hate he had shown had to come from something.
"You don't remember the island that you were supposed to save. The survivors you brutally mowed down for nothing but your own greed!" Usopp yelled.
Morgan was shocked, of course he remembered that island, it was one of the main reasons he hadn't been promoted all these years. He knew somebody had lived and told his superiors what he had done. They didn't really care but it looked bad for the marines and if it got out then the marine's reputation would have taken a huge hit.
Morgan looked at the man in anger, "You're the one who told the Fleet Admiral what happened. I haven't had a promotion all because of you!"
He rushed at Usopp after he said that and swung his axe hand down. Usopp dodged and swiped his eyes with his claws blinding him.
"AHHHHHHH!" He yelled to no one, but Usopp wasn't done he grabbed a sword off of one of the dead marines and cut his axe hand he was so prions of off. The minutes dragged on with Usopp tormenting the man and finally the screaming died down and all that was left was whimpering for death.
Usopp was disgusted by the man. He couldn't believe that such a pathetic person was in the same organization as his grandfather. Killing Morgan, Usopp went to the safe in the headquarters. He stole 50,000,000B from the marines and a Den-Den Mushi for headquarters for later.
He left after that, having done what he came to do, and went to find Luffy. He found him in the bar and walked in. Luffy looked back with a smile and a green haired person was studying him with battle intent flashing in his eyes.
Luffy spoke up and asked, "Everything taken care of?"
Usopp smiled and said, "It was like a weight was lifted off my shoulders."
"Good. While we are in good moods, this here is our swordsmen Zoro." Luffy said while pointing at the green haired guy. "Zoro this here is our sniper and my brother Usopp. He is also the first mate for our crew."
"Nice to meet you. I'm sure this idiot gave you a bunch of trouble." Usopp said while smirking.
"Yea, he just begged for me to join and I didn't want to make him feel bad." Zoro said while laughing.
Everyone laughed at that except Luffy, who was in a dust brawl with Usopp. Suddenly, two marines walked in and asked, "Excuse me, are you men pirates?"
Luffy immediately answered, "Yep."
Usopp and Zoro sighed while thinking, 'What kind of a pirate admits it straight in the marines faces.'
One of the marines then said, "I'm sorry but you will have to leave the island. While I personally thank you for what you have done for us, it's marine policy to at least get you off the island as fast as possible."
The people in the bar started booing the marines and it looked like it was about to get ugly. Luffy stood up and the other two followed, "We were just leaving."
"What about him?" The marines question pointing to Koby.
Luffy said, "Oh him, he was a cabin boy on-"
*BANG*
Koby punched Luffy dead in the face to silence him. Luffy immediately beat Koby hard, and left while grumbling, "Damn Marine."
Usopp and Zoro were holding back chuckles at Luffy's bad acting, while Koby was crying from how thankful he was. As they left the port, the marines saluted the pirates which made Zoro smirk and Usopp and Luffy laugh. Once they got into the open sea, Usopp pulled out the Den-Den Mushi and Luffy asked, "What's that?"
"It's a Den-Den Mushi people use it call other people and they talk through them. This one is linked to Marine headquarters and I'm gonna try and call Gramps and ask what happened to his promise." Usopp said still a little angry over the whole thing. Zoro looked lost so Luffy explained to him what happened and he looked at Usopp in pity at the situation, but respect at killing the guy.
Usopp looked on the bottom and the headquarters number was on the bottom. 'Let's see what Gramps has to say about this.'
