Chapter 18: XVIII
ARRANGING
DANNY'S P.O.V
"Did you get it too?" Hypo asked when we got back from school when all of our phones simultaneously notified us. It was a message coming from the administrator of the school.
We all sat first by the living room as we checked our messages. "Greetings students! I am Mrs. Alexis, our school's administrator and I would like to make an official announcement. Tomorrow (Oct. XX, 20XX), all students are permitted to wear casual attires as all are required to attend the brief meeting at the school's auditorium with the agendas regarding the mid-year prom and a surprise announcement. There would be no classes for tomorrow and we are expecting each student to arrive on and or before 10:00 am. Thank you and have a wonderful day!" West read aloud the message.
"Well..." We looked at Haily who stood up from her seat next to mine while stretching out her arms in mid-air. "Since that's all settled, why don't we change first and let's prepare an early dinner? What do you guys think?" she suggested and as if on cue, we heard random stomachs growling that we ended up bursting in laughter.
We all agreed to Haily's suggestion so I went to my room and change into a pair of a white cargo shirt and a black shirt before heading downstairs. "So what are we gonna cook? We haven't even done groceries yet?" I asked and that made them realize our current situation. "Darn it, I forgot" Haily muttered which we all heard. "I'll call Jax to pick us up" Marille volunteered before leaving the room to call for a ride; Mr. Jax doesn't live with us, he literally drives us and gives us a ride to whenever we want and assist us whenever we are in need of it.
Marille came back with an assured look so we decided to grab some hats and jackets since we would go out when it's getting dark already. I just went ahead and put on a white hoodie and we wait outside for Mr. Jax which arrived pretty quick than expected. We arrived at the nearest grocery market and went ahead inside. As usual, Jameson would pay for the groceries; we're not getting guilty since it's for our survival and for the mission.
"What are we gonna cook first?" Jane asked as she hands out three big carts to us. "Well, how about those Korean barbecue stuff? I saw an appliances in the kitchen when we first arrived" West suggested that we just agreed on since we're all hungry. "Alright, I'll go get the meat supplies and the vegetables with Danny while Jameson, Jane and Hypo, you three go get beverages for some stock on the house while Marille, West and Haily, go get the necessities we need like sanitary pads, alcohol and you know the rest" Orie commanded us so we immediately split.
We arrived at the meat aisle and grabbed some two whole chickens, some pork, pork for the Korean barbecue, some sliced beef and even some marinated pork and beef. We picked some sausages and frozen goods as well. After grabbing what we need from that aisle, we went to the vegetable area and took a lot of lettuce, cucumbers, carrots, potatoes and other things that we'll need in the next few days for our home cooked meals.
We were already done so we texted the others and asked to meet up at cashier 5 after everyone is done. "Let's go grab some tongs and some chopsticks shall we-oh and some sauces as well" Orie suggested and I nodded as a response and headed to where we would find those things.
We already got what we want and our cart is almost full so we head to the designated meet up place and saw that the ones no there yet are Marille's team so we waited for them and once we saw them nearing us with two big carts, we already lined up and paid for the groceries which tallied with a huge amount as well and headed out of the grocery market while pushing the carts that has the goods. There were some guys helping us along the way since our things are heavy.
I'm gonna skip the rest of the story and let's just say we finished unpacking the boxes of groceries and put them where they should be. I'm at the living room with Jameson, West and Hypo watching a movie while the rest are busy preparing dinner. We're just gonna ruin their style if we force ourselves to help so we let the experts do it themselves. Especially that Orie doesn't want too much people surrounding her as much as possible.
Marille set up the appliance that we're gonna use and not seconds later when Haily and Jane came out holding a lot of vegetables and meat. Orie came out while holding two plates of marinated pork and probably beef on each hand of hers. We immediately gathered around the table and went ahead to cook the meat that was cut nicely in a good proportions.
The moment where we can only hear the laughter and sizzling of the meat and our stories and jokes are what enveloped us before morning came when I woken up from my alarm showing me that it's already 8 am so I quickly head to my bathroom and took a quick shower. I just wore black jeans and a black sweater top with a white collar to style it. I let my hair loose and top it all off with my white wedge shoes.
After finishing my light make up, good thing that my marking isn't visible due to its place, I don't need to make an effort like the rest since theirs can be visible with just an accident.
I head to West's room to see her stretching out the pastel pink-turtle neck she's wearing that's covering her marking on her right neck. "Good morning" We greeted each other but I can sense that she's feeling sad or something. "Something matter?" I asked which she heaved out a sigh. "I just can't stop thinking on when would we be able to night hide these" as she pertains to the markings we had on our bodies.
I wonder as well.
