Chapter 23: XXIII
INITIAL
JANE'S P.O.V
It's been an hour now since we arrived and everyone's pretty having fun; aside from us of course. We are all wearing an ear piece that looks like the earrings we are wearing. "He's not here" I heard Danny's voice from the ear piece. All of us are scattered in the place since we are now free to roam around the place. I was assigned to the monitor room to check the security cameras and I can't see everyone from the monitors which is great since we can't go leaving traces.
I touched my earring to activate it. "He's nowhere to be seen and no creature on sight" I reported to them. "Copy that" Jameson responded and probably continued looking for our target as well. We already handled the staffs we need to take care of for this mission to be a success. I could say that our training paid off. I was about to stand off from my seat when I noticed something from one of the monitors.
I pressed the ear piece once again and signaled them to be on guard. "What is it?" Orie asked from her ear piece. "The target has been found, he's in the garden behind the tree at the gazebo" I informed them. "On it, West, Jameson, Danny and Marille, go to your posts" Orie commanded that they obeyed and I saw Jameson appearing first inside the hall where the party is being held and the three followed momentarily. They were tasked to protect the students with caution. "The rest of you, initiate the next step of our plan" Orie spoke before cutting her communication off. "On it" I replied on the ear piece and stood up from my seat and left the monitor room to head to the garden to meet up with the rest.
"Hypo, Jane and Haily, on my signal-wha-how?..." Orie trailed off when it seemed like she saw something unexpected. "Orie, what happened?" West asked across the ear piece but Orie didn't replied and all we could hear are her heavy breathing and the next thing we knew was that Hypo was screaming and so we rushed to where she should be.
"Orie! whatever is happening, snap out of it and focus!" Haily reminded Orie and it seems like she regained her senses and replied finally to our call. "I don't know what you saw but Hypo needs our help so better focus!" Danny interfered. "I'm sorry but I just think I saw 'something' familiar" Orie informed us as I can finally see her running near me towards where we heard the scream.
"Do you need us to escort you guys?" "No! stay where you guys are and we'll handle this and whatever happens, we need to execute this mission" Orie abruptly replied to Jameson. I saw her turn her ear piece off so I asked her on what she saw but she just shrugged and we immediately arrived to where we heard Hypo's scream and a few seconds passed when Haily finally arrived at the scene. "Hypo where are you!" I screamed as we look around but no response was heard.
"Damn it!" Orie cursed as she turned her ear piece active and ordered West to to back to the monitor room and keep us updated. "Jane, head back to the hall and help them guard the students and faculties-" she was cut off by another scream and not a second had even passed when screams where heard coming from the main hall's direction.
"West what's happening!" Haily asked as she turned her ear piece on. "Two creatures appeared suddenly in the middle of the hall!" West informed us through the communicator. "Things are getting messy" I commented which didn't helped the situation. "Everyone, do not turn off your ear piece from now on, we need to communicate ceaselessly from now on and the current situation we are in are the creatures that appeared, the target is still out there and Hypo had been abducted" Orie said
"What! how did that happen?" We heard Marille frantically asking from the ear piece. "We just heard her scream and when we arrived to her post, she was nowhere to be found" Haily answered. The tension grew and no one knew how to react. "The teachers and security are escorting everyone to leave the place since the creatures started moving!" West said.
"Everyone except West; gather at the entrance of the hall, now!" Orie commanded and so we ran towards the hall and saw that everyone is panicking. I can't even see Ambrose and Dwight due to the commotion that's going on!
We arrived at the hall to see some men in black surrounding the area. "We were sent to control the situation by the organization and don't mind the people, we shall escort them out of this place" the man in the middle informed us. We thanked them and immediately head inside the hall. "Orie, can you create a giant barrier to seal this place in case an explosion happens?" West asked from the communicator. "I'll try, the scope of this building is huge!" Orie replied quickly.
ORIE'S P.O.V
"Target has been found! Someone go to the parking lot! He's with someone and seems like they're carrying someone-Hypo! they're taking hypo and are about to make an escape!" as soon as West told us the information, Jameson, Marille and Danny immediately ran outside.
"West, whatever happens, stay there and keep us informed on what's happening" Danny said in the communicator; even her heavy breathing was heard. "Orie, better take care of those things quick!" Jameson reminded me. "We'll do what we can in order to do so" I replied as I motioned the two to surround the two creatures.
I was facing the two creatures while Haily and Jane were waiting on both sides. Both creatures let out a growl and ran towards Jane but couldn't do anything to her since she immediately jumped and activated her abilities. "None of you drank the medicine huh?" I asked and I immediately heard some chuckles. "Good thinking girls" I commended them. "I'll create a barrier to suppress the casualties while Haily and Jane work together to defeat the creatures-"
I was cut off when the creature's tail hit me and I crashed to the tables. I screamed from the pain that is coursing from my side! "Orie!" Haily and Jane called me. "I'm going there!" West shouted. "No! listen to me Westeria! We would handle this and you better stay put there! we need eyes to guide us from that room alright!?" I responded despite the pain I'm enduring.
I stood up and ran to the staircase and the creature were about to chase me when glasses suddenly exploded and mixed liquid are now surrounding the creatures! "Jane! make the creatures float so they won't move freely!" I ordered. "Damn it! Thirty minutes and if those two are still alive, I'll roast them up!" we heard West yell out of frustration.
