Chapter 11: Gathering Informations
"Oi, Kaname-kun!"
I heard a girly voice yelling my name from behind. The voice was pretty familiar.
I turned around and saw Yamazuki running towards me. I was expecting her to run after me since I knew that she was in a major problem. I wouldn't be surprised if she started crying right now.
"I don't have any money, please pay the bill." She said with a bit of despair in her voice.
Bullseye.
"I don't actually have any money at this moment too. I spent it all in the school cafeteria." I replied, "I am sorry that your plan failed."
I let out a small smile. I actually predicted that she didn't bring any money and was going to make me pay. I was right.
"What plan? Don't tell me, you knew that I didn't bring any money?"
"Dunno." I continued to walk, I didn't want to waste my time there.
She stared at my face for a moment. Then said, "Anyway, they told me that I can pay them tomorrow."
"So, you want me to pay half of it?" I asked. It was pretty obvious that she wanted to do that.
"Of course, I don't have that much money."
"You're the one who asked me on a date, so take the responsibility."
"How many times do I have to tell you that it was not a date."
Nice, she fell right into my trap.
"Then it was just an invitation? Then why should I have to pay half of it? You're the one who invited me, right?"
I looked at her face, expecting to see an angry expression but there wasn't any sign of anger on her face at all. She looked pretty down. She didn't look as cheerful as she always looked.
It looked like she really didn't have enough money. I decided to stop messing with her.
"Ahh...Don't worry, I am going to pay for the whole thing. Okay?" I said while scratching the back of my head with my right hand.
Her face immediately brightens up.
"Ahh geez. You can't say anything directly, can't you?" She said.
"It looks it," I replied.
She let out a small laugh while covering her mouth with her hand.
"So yeah. About earlier, I can assure you that nothing happened between me and Fuchizawa, and also the news about her requesting you to let me join your group made me surprised too." I said.
"I see," Said Yamazuki, "Fumiko-chan said the same thing, you know,"
Of course, the answer would be the same dumb, nothing happened.
"So it's confirmed, right?" I asked.
"Yeah but still, something feels wrong." She replied.
Of course, something is wrong.
Without replying, I continued to walk and noticed that Yamazuki was following me.
"Why are you following me?" I asked.
"Unfortunately, my house is in the same area as yours." She replied.
"Wait, how do you know where my house is? Were you stalking me?"
"N-No, I saw you going in that direction that other day."
I continued walking and Yamazuki was chatting with me all the time. I didn't know what to say, so I just went with "Hmm" & "I see".
"Why are you going in this way, Kaname-kun?"
I was going to another road since the road I usually take was blocked because of some construction, it was a longer route.
"You were talking so much that you didn't realize that the road was blocked" With that, I continued walking.
"Do you know the way?" I asked her.
"No... I never went this way before."
"Heh, so you're trusting a stranger like me? Oh boy, you might get in trouble if you're not careful." I said.
Trusting a guy whom you just met, that's not safe at all. Guys nowadays aren't that trustable.
"By the way, Minase is your childhood friend, isn't he?" I asked. Even though it was a stupid question to ask since I already knew that they were all childhood friends. I wanted to learn more about them.
"Oh yeah, he is. Actually, Fumiko-chan, Ishizaki-kun, Minase-kun, and I are childhood friends. Since you already know about Yamado-kun, I think you also know that he was not our friend before."
"Yeah, I know."
She talked about their childhood stories and stuff, and again I replied with "Hmm" and "I see". Sometimes, I felt like asking her about them was a bad idea because she was talking way too much.
But still, I got some important information about them. By important, I meant that it might get handy in the future.
Minase's full name is Minase Yoshi and he is in the baseball club. How cool is that? She also said that Minase is very good at sports, especially baseball. That's might not sound like an important information but it might become one. Who knows?
Also, the theory about Fuchizawa's reaction was almost true. Yamado Shin was the second boy who came to visit Fuchizawa, the next one's me and the first one was a boy from the Baseball Club. He was Minase's acquaintance. I didn't ask if it was Kondo Shuu or not because the chance of that boy being him was pretty low.
I also asked about what was the relationship between Yamado and Minase, which turned out to be a massive blunder. Yamazuki didn't know about that and ended up asking thousands of questions.
Ishizaki is a part of the Cycling Club. He had always loved cycling according to Yamazuki. So, these were the only informations I've gathered.
The rest of the talking was about their childhood stories. Yamazuki was telling me about it while laughing. Some of them were hilarious. For example, once Ishizaki tried to eat a frog. It might sound too funny to be true but it seemed to be true since I kinda knew what type of person Ishizaki was.
We continued to walk and chat. Yamazuki was doing most of the chatting. I noticed the library while walking, which was pretty close to my house. I decided to enter it since I needed some books to return.
I entered the library and Yamazuki followed me. I returned the book and went towards to shelves to buy some more.
"Do you want a book?" I asked. She seemed to have no interest in books. But she was still looking at the shelves curiously.
"Uhh... Sure."
I went a step closer to her and took out a book from the shelf. She was looking at it, so I thought she might be interested in it.
"Here you go. Ask the librarian for more information about the borrowing thing."
She went to the librarian and quickly came back. It seemed like she had already become a member.
I borrowed two books and left the library. Suddenly, I felt a water drop on my cheek.
"Huh?" I said as the rain began to fall slightly.
"Let's go fast," Yamazuki hurried. She held her bag on her head to protect it from rain.
Even if I walked slowly, I would've reached home sooner than her. She was the one who needed to run.
I think she forgot the fact that her house was farther than mine.
As soon as we came near my home, the rain started showering like crazy
"This is why I hate rain." Said Yamazuki while running.
"My house is near," I replied. I thought it'd be a good idea to take shelter in my house for a while.
I completely forgot the fact that I didn't have an umbrella.
