Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Tiger and lighter
"What is the plan this time", asked Toutou, "I have to say I'm worried about this one"
The tiger monster looked indeed more dangerous than the one she had already defeated. It was moving toward her silently, the fangs out, ready to bite and devour until the end. But, apart for its slowness, it didn't seem to have obvious weakness, not as the other one, who would have swallowed anything.
"How to kill it ?" thought Electra, who, even after having assimilate half hearts of a monster, felt incredible, but still human. She had probably not the physic abilities of a professional sportsman, however she was sure she could take on everyone in this school. But there was a monster in front of her, not a human, and she was not confident about her aptitude to kill it with her bare hands.
She started to move back, concerned by the creature who was coming for her. But it didn't let her recover her distance, it jumped toward her with an incredible elasticity. Electra, who had her reflexes enhanced, did manage to evade the attack by throwing herself on the floor. The monster landed badly, rolling on the ground without cushioning the fall. But it gets back on its paws immediately, ready to launch a second attack.
Electra was also back on her feet, more attentive of the monster movements. She had just seen how fast this thing could been, and she still didn't know how to hurt it. Fortunately, she had a past of competitor in rhythmic gymnastic at a national level in junior division. By performing morning stretch, she had kept a lot of her agility, so she was confident in her ability to dodge the claws and jaws of the monster. But she couldn't kill it with a backflip, she would need something else, a gun or a knife. Any weapon would be better than her bare hands.
While she was trying to find a solution, the monster kept advancing slowly, like a predator, as if she didn't notice him. He jumped again suddenly with a strange grunt, and even if she had understood his pattern of movements, she still barely dodges the attack. She realized then how foolish she had been to want to fight alone without a plan. Last time, the monster couldn't move, her life was not really in danger, she could have fly away at every moment. But this time was not the same, this thing was ready to give everything to take her life.
She needed a plan, and she thought to something without really knowing if it was a good idea. She looked above while taking distance with the monster. Fastly, she spotted what she was looking for, people who were looking at her lonely fight from a classroom at the second floor.
- Hey, open the window !
The girl she was staring at, while caring to keep a good distance with the tiger monster, didn't react, she seemed tetanized. But another guy decided to open the window to talk to Electra.
- What are you doing? you should stop to play with that atrocity, hurry and come with us.
- I can't do that, if I leave the courtyard, he will look for his food in the building, and these doors are made of glass. I don't think they will stop him, so everyone would be in danger. Listen to me, I have a plan, but I need your help.
- I'm sorry, I can lend you a hand, but I will not go down outside with you.
- It's nothing like that, you just need to find me two things while I distract him. There must be a place for garbage in the building, I need you to bring me the larger waste container you will find, and a zippo, It must not be so complicated with all the weed smokers we have here. Also, put a lot of paper inside, even oil if you managed to catch some, everything flammable, I'm going to set this guy on fire.
The guy took a few seconds to talk about her request to his angel, but she couldn't hear what they say.
- Ok I will help you !
- Not alone, take people with you, we don't have much time. This thing grows stronger each minute, I don't think I can handle him more than five minutes.
- I understand, but trust me, I will do it in time.
Electra had lied to him, she could have continued to keep his attention for more time, because she also became more powerful with the time. But It wasn't enough to fight back, perhaps she could have, if she had been a man. Afterall, her body wasn't really made to fight, she had a delicate constitution, tall for a woman with her 174 centimeters, she had the shape of a model.
And as the monster became faster, she turned better too.
Soon, a girl she never seen emerged to the window crying.
- We found three Zippos, but we can't access to the garbage place for now, we are looking for the service agent. But we're afraid they ran away.
- Ok thank you, but I got something else. Ask the girls around if they have a deodorant, and find me a knife at the cafeteria, a real knife, something who cut.
- Ok I see, that's a good idea! I should hurry.
Electra felt better, she started to adjust her moves to her news abilities. Whilst she continued to evade his attacks, she tried to hit him with a front kick. The monster was projected away, but he got up without apparent damages. She was reassured, even if she couldn't really hurt him, she could now fight back, and it was enough to handle him until her fellows came back with a solution. But she hadn't so much time, the monster was now running. It was more and more complicated to dodge his attempts while keeping him here.
"I got what you asked, how do I pass it to you," a new girl screamed from another window in the first floor.
- What is it ?
- A deodorant and a lighter, we are still looking for the rest.
- Ok throw them in the air.
Electra ran towards the window followed by the monster, before to jump to take support on the wall, to go higher and reach successfully the two objects. The girl at the window was amazed because she just witnessed something unbelievable. The move Electra had just performed was something no one on earth should has been able to do. But the girl didn't know yet about the hearts and the possibility to become stronger.
Electra has noticed the monster was reckless and attacked tirelessly, without a strategy. She decided to lean back against the wall, she was attentive at the move of the beast, and when he jumped again on her, she easily dodges it. Immediately, she used her deodorant with her lighter to produce a type of flame thrower, burning the monster slightly stunned against the wall. It wakes himself up through a cry, and step back violently, directly burned in his flesh, because he had no skin to protect him.
A part of his body was now black, "It works, I need someone to bring me oil from the cafeteria," without even looking if someone was here to listen her request. She was too focused on the monster, who was a lot more careful now.
- Ok, I got you! Answered a voice out of nowhere. Continue, you can do it !
Electra smiled, happy to finally have a solution, but she didn't want to burn it again without to be sure she could finish it; she was afraid that he decided to run away. She needed to defeat it to become stronger and to protect others, not to make it run.
But soon, as if he had forgot his last experience, he started again to hunt her carelessly. It lasted two minutes, before someone came back with a big oil bottle.
"Fuck," Electra swore, she didn't except this type of volume. It was too big for her to use it with one hand, she had to drop lighter and deodorant. Unless she could receive some help, and she fought it was doable.
"Hey, I'm going to lure him below you, so spill the oil on him when I tell you." She says to the girl with the bottle at the second floor.
- Ok, I will do my best! Thank for what you do, you are incredible.
Electra ignored her; the fight was not finished. While continuing to avoid the monster attempts, she used the same position as before and dodged in the same way.
- Now, throw all you got!
She obeyed and spilled everything on the monster who regained quickly his full consciousness from the shock. But It was to late, Electra had already targeted it with her improvised flame-thrower. The monster was in fire, screaming his pain with his entire body. Soon it fell on the ground without an ich of life. The organism slowly disappeared until the sphere was completed, but when Toutou started to swallow it, she noticed a little part of the gain went to the girl guardian angel. Also, a lot of people were at the windows witnessing the phenomenon, some had help her, but hadn't receive benefits, and others must had been too scared to show up and help her before the monster disappearance.
And curiously, it was these one, now who were waiting something from her, they didn't ask but she knew they wanted from her to take on the second monster at the entrance. It was in her plans, but before that, she had to take a break.
This last fight had been a lot more dangerous that she had expect, and she probably would not have been able to win If she had been alone. She took a last look at the plant-monster before to head back to the building and to join an empty room. She needed to make a point and to verify some things with Toutou.
