Chapter 69: Chapter 69 - Brothers reunited

After their tearful reunion, they both left for the sea.

While swimming away, Jia glanced back. "I'll inform your brother. Just stay here for a while. I bet he will come running back to you,"

Qu Wren silently sat down. His bag was right next to him and his father's book was popping out.

Just looking at it brought a weird feeling to his heart.

By then, the sun was at its highest. Moroko and Han Su gave him company.

The sea rippled, and the waves distorted. The water spilt and a young half naked man walked out.

"Wren..." Diago glared at him.

"Diago...." Qu Wren stood up with his head lowered.

"Brother...." Diago ran to him and hugged him tight. "You silly boy, why the hell did you run away!!! It was super irresponsible!!!!!" he slapped his shoulders.

Qu Wren hesitantly hugged him. "I... I just wanted to..."

"You are not pregnant, you know that right? Are you okay? If you want, I will get you a seahorse as a pet. Mum even agreed to this," he hurriedly whispered, cupping Wren's face.

Wren just blinked at him.

"Come on, let's go now, staying out of water is too drying for my skin," he tugged him towards the waves but Wren paused.

"I am not coming,"

"What?" Diago glanced at him with his eyes narrowed. "Wren, you have to come back,"

"I want to explore the world." Wren backed away with his head lowered.

Diago scoffed. "you can explore the underwater world. If you want, you can even go to our uncle's place in the north. Just come on. Mum is worried," he tugged at him.

But Wren stood still, with tears dripping down his face.

"Wren, you big cry baby, we forgive you for your mistake. It's okay, just come back, yes?"

Wren shook his head. "I don't want to..."

"Why? Give me a good reason why you can't go back or else...."

"I found my mate." Wren mumbled with a shy look.

Diago's eyes blew wide. "Who? Who is that girl!! is she a human!! Oh my god we are in so much trouble!!!" he started to panic. He pranced around, kicking sand off his feet. "What do we do? We can hopefully bring her back with us. But how can she survive?,"

"Brother..."

"Oh, we can make sure our house is filled with air, then she can stay in, but she will feel like a prisoner..."

"Brother, listen to me...."

"Maybe we can move into the Mer Island. it's abandoned. after all you can start a family there..."

"Diago!!" Wren held his shoulders. "This is it!," he held up the baby bird.

Diago froze. His red pupils peered at the baby bird, which was standing proudly with its chest puffed up. "Breakfast? I like it?"

"No! This is my mate!!!" Wren glared at him.

Diago' stoically looked at his face. "Did you go crazy? Maybe you are dehydrated. I'll get you some water..."

"Brother!!" Wren rolled his eyes exaggeratedly. "This bird is my mate!"

"This is child marriage!!!! Not acceptable at all. You can't mate with this... this.. pink blob!!" Diago peered at the bird.

Feng Mian screeched loudly. 'How dare you call this great phoenix a pink blob!!! Here take my revenge,' he opened his mouth and blew out flames, but only black smoke came out.

"Is it okay? Did you set it on fire accidentally? It will make a delicious breakfast," Diago still looked at the bird licking his lips.

Qu Wren took back the bird and placed it in his shirt. "I am not coming back. Who knows, maybe you will eat my mate when I'm not around,"

"Wren!! My baby brother how can you!! I trust you okay But it's ridiculously. Why do you have a hatchling as your mate? It's not at all good. What happens during your mating season then? You obviously can't mate that!"

Feng Mian fluffed up. "squeak squawk squawk!!!" 'you stupid oyster!! Of course I can mate!! I can mate so well, you don't know any of that!! I swear I will mate with him all night long!!!!!!'

Seeing the bird flaying its wings around Diago frowned. "it also looks crazy," he mumbled to himself.

Wren could not handle it anymore. He smacked his brother's arms. "No more bullying. He is my mate, so show some respect. As for the mating season, I can deal it on my own."

"So you are not coming?"

"Yes!"
