Chapter 3: What a Way to Spend The Weekend 1
' Peter said he'll be coming to California to seal some business deals' Kol broke the news to Tiffany
' oh really? When is he arriving?' she asked
' in two weeks' Kol replied
' it's been a while since he last came by' Amy said. She happened to meet him on one of his visits, and she liked him immediately. She always told Amy how handsome he was.
' yeah right.' Tiffany said
Peter was their father's younger brother. He was a business mogul on his own with chains of companies and shares to his name. He has really been of great assistance to them in terms of advice since their parents death
' and by the way, the house was pretty deserted when I got in. Where are the maids? he asked Tiffany
' oh! I gave them the week off. They should report back to work tomorrow' she explained
' I really can't help but admire your leadership skills' Kol complimented
' you really don't have to flatter me' she said rolling her eyes
Just then, her stomach growled, she was feeling hungry.
What a foodie!
' we should go out for dinner' she said
' no way. Not tonight.' Kol replied indifferently.
' why is that? Come on, this house is getting boring.' Amy supported.
' that is not the way you treat your friend, is it? Besides you said you'll make it up to us right?' she added
' now start doing that, beginning with tonight's dinner.' Tiffany said
He sighed touching his forehead.
' fine, I'll go get dressed.' He said reluctantly walking up the staircase.

'Good evening sir, ma'ams,' a man with a polished suit, who should be the waiter greeted
Kol, Tiffany and Amy were at the VIP section of the restaurant. It was pretty amazing with a good view.
The waiter asked for drink orders and Kol went ahead to order one of his favorites, Chardonnay.
' a very good choice sir' the waiter replied and went ahead to get the order.
Soon after, he returned with the bottle of wine. He expertly poured some into the crystal glasses for them to taste. When they nodded, he poured some more into their glasses.
' what are you having sir, ma'ams?
' steak for me' Kol said
' salmon and pasta for me' Amy said.
' rice, salted fish and kimshi' was Tiffany's order
'So, Kol what's up? Last I heard, you said you were planning to get investment for your gaming project.' Tiffany asked
' well for now, we're still working on that. It will be completely settled by next week.'
' what a genius of a brother I've got.' Tiffany complimented.
' and how is McClain Entertainment doing at the moment? Kol asked both Tiffany and Amy.

It was a full hour later when they came out of the restaurant. They all had a great time, obviously.
They were going towards the car when all of a sudden, they heard the screeching of tyres against asphalt as they came to a stop few metres from where they were standing.
' Amy, Tiffany… get down' Kol ordered as soon as he sensed danger and at once they did. They were loud sounds of gunshots in the air as they all tried to take cover. Thank their stars there were many vehicles in the parking lot so they could easily get a safe cover.
In less than a minute, the atmosphere was clear again.
' Tiffany? Are you okay?' Amy called
' yeah, I'm good. Where's Kol?' she asked worriedly
They ran forward and found him lying on the ground holding his left shoulder. He quickly got up from the ground. He was looking all so calm.
' boss? Are you okay?' one of the bodyguards asked running out to join them as he tucked his gun into his trousers.
' where the hell were you and who were those guys?' Tiffany asked hysterically, her heart beating wildly in her chest
' we were right behind you. We took action the moment we sensed danger. But they took off the moment they realized you guys were not alone. We'll look into it ma'am. We'll get them.' Luke explained
' boss? Are you okay?' another one of the guards asked when he noticed Kol wasn't saying anything
' yes, I'm fine. Just a scratch, that's all' Kol said trying his best to sound calm. He didn't want Tiffany and Amy to get worried.
' Kol? Are you sure you're okay? ' Amy asked placing her hand on his shoulder and then she felt something wet and sticky
She looked at her hand and realized it was his blood
' oh my God!' she exclaimed, fright written all over her face
'He's bleeding! We have to take him to the hospital' Tiffany said looking so worried

' so Becca, how did Raymond take the surprise?' Tom, Rebecca's father asked.
' it didn't go well dad' she said
' what happened?'
' I caught him making out with a lady in his apartment. But he said he didn't mean to do it. But I already broke up with him, cos he's a goddamn liar.'
Becca and her dad have always been so close, that she could tell him almost everything.
' it's okay Becca, I'm so sorry.' He said holding her hands
' you know I've always told you I didn't really like that guy, but you said you'll prove me wrong and that he makes you happy.'
' I'm sorry I didn't listen to you dad. I shod have listened to you,' she said soberly
' it's okay Becca. I only cared about whatever made you happy, anyway. But I can't help but wonder why you don't seem a bit affected except that you cried a little'
' how did you know I cried? Dad, you won't stop to amaze me'
' you should know that I'm your dad and that I can see right through that smile of yours.' He said.
' well, the reason I'm not so fazed is because I've finally realized that this whole thing wasn't meant to be. I don't love him, dad. I just didn't want to be alone.' She explained
' but you're not alone love. Come here' he said giving her a hug.
' I'm always here for you. You can never be alone.' He said as if trying to convince her
'thanks dad. I know you're always on my side,' she said pulling away from the hug
' I don't want you to ever think that you are alone, okay?' he said to her
' yes dad' she replied
' so away from that. Have you got all you need for your latest projects?'
' yes dad. Just a few more touches and I'm done.' she said with a smile
' that's my baby. You're just so smart.'
' thanks dad.'
' you took after your mother. You're just a chip of the old block. You remind me of her' he said getting emotional already
' please dad, don't get emotional. If that happens, I'll get emotional too and I know you're not going to like it '
' I'm good Becca.' He said putting himself back together immediately
'I'm sure mom would be so proud of you . She'd be happy knowing that you worked so hard to build the company that you both dreamt of.'
' hmnn' he sighed
' I know that Becca, but I wish she were here to see how big you've grown and how successful our business is.' He said rather sadly
' everything will be fine dad. Just don't think too much about it okay. Wherever she is, I know she's very happy with you' she said giving him a hug
' Becca, I just want you to know that I always want the best for you. You deserve nothing less than the best' Tom said
' thanks dad. I love you so much'
' I love you too'
' it's been a hectic day at work for you dad. You should probably go to bed now. I've still got some work to do' she went further to say.
