Chapter 2: Ringmasters Show
When Zack's words fell in everyone's ear they realized that the other person had been completely ignored by everyone.
Zack stood tall under the penetrating and hateful eyes of Samantha's father and just sneered at him.
He did not have much impression about this is so called father of his new bride. From the time they have stood at the entrance of the church, as a bystander from start to now he has been silently watching everyone facial expression. What he found did not improve his mood but just confirmed what he knew from the beginning.
So let's start with the groom Alex the Great. He was total looser, he could easily see relief on his face as soon as his not so father in law started his accusations on his ex bride. He was just enjoying this show on the side and not once attempted to defend or mediate .He was just watching the show and only the popcorn was missing.
The second person who tried to hide herself behind pillar is non other than his new sister in law Susan. He could clearly see the guilt, pity for Samantha but as time passed her eyes was glowing whenever she looked at Alex. She thought no was noticing her but Zack could easily see her hands protecting her womb and looking toward Alex who was busy watching the drama between the father and daughter.
His new step mother in law Elizabeth was the one who really enjoyed this show. She was the original actor, writer, director and editor of this drama. As a dutiful wife she was standing next to her husband and pulling his sleeves from time to time as if asking him to shut up and holding a handkerchief which covered half her face and her eyes were so red one would think she was the one who was being scolded in front of the whole crowd.
But she could certainly not hide her joy and excitement in her eyes when everytime Marcus bought up the topic of Samantha's upbringing.
As for the other relatives they were just watching as no one had the guts to come forward and defend Samantha .
For them it was not their family matter so they did not want to take side of anyone and then find themselves in the bad books of Elizabeth and Marcus. They did not want to be socially and financially boycotted by this power couple.
The only one who was actually sorry for Samantha was Kian who was the best man and who was standing behind Alex .Ther pain ,anguish and helplessness in his eyes. Kian looked like he was about to blow up but at the end moment the other friends would hold him back and whisper something in his ear.
Finally after getting a clear picture of Samantha's family situation Zack was ready to make his move.
His new bride was crying bitterly all alone. and no one had the simple courtesy of mediating at this time and take the matter to a close room but to make it a show for all world to see.
This is was the much talked and anticipated wedding day of a young tycoon and a wallflower so all media company had sent their people to get exclusive picture of the bride and groom but what they were getting was a whole lot of gossip and lots of pictures of his crying bride.
Once he stood next to his bride he could see Kian watching him doubt,warriness and alertness in his eyes.
Looking down at Samantha's head he could practically see her whole body trembling as she wept silently.His heart was in anguish when he saw her in this state.
Where was the vibrant girl who was the head of the student council and the one who gave warmth to everyone who came to her.
He could see what her family has done to her throughout her life.Their selfishness has been like an acid to her soul eroding her pure selfless self day in and day out.
For whom had she sacrificed her marriage? For these selfish people who have never appreciated her nor valued her.
Looking at Samantha standing here all alone he truly felt sorry for this friend of his who had never shown this painful and sorry side to him anytime during their friendship.
Looking directly at Elizabeth he said,"This show has gone for quite some time and it was truly an eye opener for me and made me realize that now I can take her with me without any guilt to my world "
Hearing this everyone's head jerked up and stared at him with different questions in their eyes.
The main question being ,"What world is he talking about"
Because honestly speaking looking at him they could tell hewas not dressed as per the norms of the rich but no can question about the dignity with which he carried himself.
His sharp eyes on his lean was dark and deep with no emotion rippling in it.
In his deep voice he said,"From today on Samantha is my family and so I hope no one speaks to her the way she has been spoken to till now or else this family of her will have to answer to me .And trust me you would seriously not like it"
Hearing this everyone was dumbfounded.
