" Are you sure? Like absolutely sure we're in an 'anime world'?" Theo had disbelief written boldly on his face.
" Hm-mm." Scarlet hummed in confirmation as she sipped her black coffee with one spoon of sugar. She was leaning back against the comfortable cushioned chair as she stared around the café. Japan was so different from where she used to usually live in America and European countries, the cafes here all had various interesting themes.
" Sigh* Okay, so what now?" Theo ran his hand through his cobalt blue hair.
" We have a new life, so let's live it as we please." Scarlet narrowed her bright gold amber eyes in pleasure as the corner of her lips tilted up.
" I need to investigate first, then find us a base, and find others for the security team." Theo frowns as he lists all the things he needs to get done.
" Security team? For who?" Scarlet raised an eyebrow in amusement at him.
" For you." Theo answers like it was obvious. " You said this world is full of people with superpowers and villains running rampant."
" Who said I need protecting?" Scarlet narrows her eyes, displeasure rolling off her in waves.
" You don't need it. It's merely just for my reassurance." Theo gave a helpless smile as he tried to not poke at her pride.
" Don't need it. I can protect myself well enough."
" But..."
" Aren't you enough?"
" Huh?"
" Or are you planning on going somewhere?" Scarlet leans forward on the table, getting closer to Theo.
" No. I'll forever be in your shadows, guarding you." Theo nods with a stern face, full of determination.
" Why in my shadow? I don't want you behind me, stay somewhere I can see you." Scarlet frowns and emphasizes the last sentence by lightly flicking Theo's forehead. She didn't want a repeat of their past lives, where everyone mocked him and called him the mistresses dog. She was the only one allowed to bully him, not anyone else.
" Th-then, I'll stay by your side...?" Theo chewed his lower lip as his cheeks flushed a pink color across his pale skin.
" Better." Scarlett nods, satisfied, and goes back to drinking her bitter coffee. " And don't worry about investigating, I've done all that."
" We just came to this world yesterday, when did you have the time to do that?" Theo furrowed his eyebrows.
" Last night, after our... mental call." Scarlet chuckled at the last bit of her sentence. She didn't notice Theo clenching his jaw.
" So you didn't sleep." Theo stated, frowning.
" Uh... no." She glanced up at him before flinching. As always, he never joked with her health. She quickly reassured him, " But I will, later, I promise. It was necessary yesterday, but I don't have anything needed to be done today, so I'll rest plenty tonight."
She lied straight to his face. She had a ton of plans for later tonight, she needed to find ways to make money in this world. After all, capitalism ruled the world.
Theo knowing her antics by now, simply nodded and let the subject go. He'll deal with the matter later tonight.
" Ex-excuse me, order ready."(in English) A young female waitress, with broken English, hesitantly came up to the two and placed two slices of cake on the table; one chocolate and one strawberry shortcake. The lady had heard the young couple whom give off noble vibes, speaking in fluent English the whole time, amazing her. They looked much younger than her, yet their English was much better than hers, a college student.
" Oh, thank you." Theo responded in English, as he awkwardly bowed his head in thanks, unaccustomed to Japanese manners.
Scarlet, though, didn't bow her head, she simply nodded and kept silent. Once the waitress left, she pushed the strawberry cake towards Theo. Both cakes were Theo's, as she wasn't a fan of sweets.
" Thanks." Theo grinned as he started to gobble both cakes. He moaned at the first bite, " It's been so long since we had cake. You sure you don't want a bite?"
" No, I'm good. Enjoy." Scarlet lightly chuckled at his cute blissful expression.
Theo shrugged, and continued eating, getting cream on the corner of his lips. Scarlet leaned forward and wiped it with her thumb. Theo froze, his hand still mid air holding the spoon.
" Lick it." Scarlet placed her thumb near his lips, almost touching them, as her other fingers wrapped around Theo's chin.
Dumbfounded, Theo blinked lost for a second. "Huh?"
" There's no napkin." Scarlet raised an eyebrow and pressed her finger onto his soft lips when he still didn't respond.
Theo's face flushed red, as did his ears. He hesitantly stuck his tongue out, and licked the pad of Scarlet's thumb.
" Good boy." Scarlet smiled as she ran her fingers through his fluffy dark hair with her other hand. Still blushing, Theo leaned into her touch.
Moments later, when Theo finally regained his senses, he cleared his throat and asked. " Ehem. You're planning to go that hero school right? I also found an application in my room, but I don't know what this body's power is or how I can use it. Have you figured out how to use yours?"
" Hmm, not fully, I'm still working on it. Let's go." Scarlet placed down her cup and stood up.
Theo shoved the last bite of cake into his mouth before he hurried after her.
" We're going somewhere to train." Scarlet smirked as she paid their bill and lead the way out the coffee shop.
" Where at?"
" The beach." She snickered.
That green haired wimpy boy should still be training at this time with that blond number one pro-hero. There was about two weeks or so until the entrance exam for U.A. high school. Might as well use them to help the speed up the progress of control over Theo's and her powers.
Ah, she can't wait to mess around.
