Chapter 2: Chapter 2 - Ideas without Execution are Useless.

I'm a Gamer. There's not a hint of doubt about that. And I'm not just your ordinary, "play-for-fun" gamer. No. I'm a "Real" Gamer.

The memory is crystal clear. I can still remember the day I played my very first computer game like it was yesterday - The Legendary Card Game "Solitaire".

Yep. On my father's company-issued EBM Laptop (We're the only family who owns a laptop in the whole village back in those days. I was an annoying proud kid who keeps on bragging about it to my classmates and friends.), I played that card game for hours even though I have no clue if what I'm doing is right or wrong.

The LED, the pixels, the graphics, the touch pad, the laptop's compact size, the whole novelty of the technology just enamored and amazed me.

On that happy days of innocent childhood years, Teslan Dama De Noche, 7 years old, has fallen in love with video games.

When I grew tired of Solitaire, I tried other available card games and of course, I stumbled upon another mythical game - The Immortal "Bombsweeper".

And as a 7 year old kid, I have no freaking idea whether I'm winning or losing. It's just sheer, mindless fun, and I clicked the mouse away like there's no tomorrow.

I really thought I'll be content with my father's limited selection of games in his laptop. But then my good cousin introduced me to "Famicam Gaming Console". And man... It's like I got transported into a whole new world in an instant.

My cousin won't let me play, or even touch his Famicam because "I might break it". But even if I just sat there on the floor and watch him play, I still enjoy the game. I don't know how to play "Shinoby the Ninja Warrior" (My favorite cartridge game of all time.), but in my mind, long after our play time is over, as I lay down in my bed and stare at the ceiling, my imagination runs wild.

In my mind, I'm Shinoby the Good Ninja! Doing Parkour Flips on buildings and fighting bad guys using my sick special ninja moves!

I'm also "Super Marino", the Sewage Cleaner Guy who saves a beautiful princess!

Even if I'm just a young boy with no job-related experience, I can still relate to him because I always wanted to become a hero and save my childhood crush from... other boys... who are not necessarily "bad" or "evil"...

I don't know. Maybe I'm the jealous type, always seeking attention from cute girls.

Anyways, with all the many, different game titles and genres like "Wyrm Orb Y", "Marvelous Versus Copycom", "SWAT Versus Terrorists", "Pop Cola Man", and "Chip's Adventure", even if I'm just a mere spectator, I'm a happy, content kid. Why? Because I know, one day, I'll play those games myself.

And I did. When I became a high school student and my mom and dad started giving me my allowance, at the end of every school day, I always go to the computer rental shop and played "Skirmish Realms", "Galaxy Craft", "Divide and Conquer", and "Metal Jacket Bullet" - All War Simulation Games (No wonder I became a warfreak.), for hours.

I have self-control though. I never played with anyone who wants to bet their whole allowance in one game. I always calculate risks. I never bet unless it's a sure win and, I never neglected my studies.

For me, gaming is a reward system. If I study hard and get good grades, I can watch and play games for five hours straight.

That's what's amazing about games. Once you started playing, you just zone out and everything fades away. You get absorbed by the game world and you forget everything - The fights between my mom and dad, the financial problems, being an outcast in school because of being a "geek", the names they call me like "four eyes" and "acne face" - All of that goes away and you escape into a perfect world where you're the hero. You're the star. You're the popular guy. And if you work hard enough and defeat the forces of darkness and evil, you will be rewarded with the true love of a kind and fair maiden. Unlike in the real world where you get gloriously rejected from asking your crush to dance on the junior prom. I mean, do you really need to share that kind of information to the whole class? Do they really have to know? Come on, man...

And so, my love for video games just grew and the best game that left the biggest impression in me is "Fantasia Finale".

For me, all hands down, this is the most amazing game I've ever played. It never occured to me that one can combine a fantasy story, a new world map, endearing unique characters, adventure, exploration, sight-seeing, sailing, spelunking, treasure-hunting, camping, cooking, action, suspense, fighting monsters, saving a beautiful girl from imminent danger, and make an epic video game out of it!

That to me is just mind-blowing. It's a whole new immersive experience.

And it's all wonderful...

I wish I can live in that world...

I've played so many video games with so many different genres throughout my high school and college years. And even now that I'm a college graduate and looking for a job for almost two years, I'm still playing computer games...

I can't find a job...

I can't find a source of income...

What if... I create my own video game... And sell it... And make a business out of it...?

I stopped playing "Mobile League of Glorious Vain Legends" and slowly, carefully placed my Glass Phone down on my bed...

For the longest time, I've done nothing but play, play, play...

I think it's about time to wake up, stop playing games in my life, and start making one myself...

I think... It's "my turn" now...

Suddenly, a one-man, cold-hearted brainstorming started in my head.

"What's the name of your game?"

"The Server of Iris."

"What kind of a video game is it?"

"Fantasy Adventure!"

"There's so many games like that already! The market is oversaturated! What's so unique about your game?"

"It's Augmented Virtual Reality!"

"Oh really? And what's so special about your Fantasy Adventure A.V.R.?"

"It has the best story in the world... With real life implications..."

"Oh come on! Every game company says that! Ever heard of 'The Curve'? Everything that comes up because of novelty will eventually come down. Even with 'the best story in the world!'. Your so called game may rise, but players are always fickle and never content. They will grow tired of it and eventually it will fall like everything else. That, is a certainty! Will your game even survive for five years?"

"My game will last for a lifetime. My game will never die! My game is the evolution of gaming itself. It's the only game in the world that makes a contribution to the society. It is healthy for the body, environmentally-friendly, sustainable, and can be made as a livelihood for anyone who will play!"

"IMPOSSIBLE!!! Only a select few can earn real money from playing a video game! Only the best of the best and the most beautiful girl game streamers can make a living out of it!"

"Not with my game. In the Server of Iris, anyone and everyone can play and earn real money. You don't have to be "good", or "professional", or "the MVP", or "the best player around", or "the most beautiful girl gamer". No. You don't have to place any bets and gamble. You just have to play and enjoy the game. That's all."

"NONSENSE!!! THIS IS A SCAM!!! WITHOUT EXECUTION, YOUR IDEAS ARE USELESS!!! YOU'RE AN ELECTRICAL ENGINEER! YOU'RE NOT EVEN A PROGRAMMER!!! HOW CAN YOU EVEN MAKE A DECENT GAME?!!!"

Oh I'll show you, my negative self-pity...

I'll definitely show you how...
